| I've watched a lot of anime in my time as a weeb (so far at least) and if there is one thing that I've learned with that experience, it's that there is no "best anime" at least not in an objective sense. Sure we all have our personal favorites, and you can have some level of objectivity when looking at various anime but even an objective scale is subject to the owner's own biases and enjoyments or lack thereof in a series. So would I say my favorite anime is better than anyone else's favorite anime? For me? Absolutely! But for anyone else? No way in hell, part of the fun of anime is that we all get to find the anime that mean the most to us and that we can most enjoy and I don't think anyone can or should try and take that away from anyone. |

| No, Monogatari is my favorite anime because it has a unique story, a unique way to write a character, and unique animation. that's why I loved it so much, but not everyone can tolerate the "fanservice" although the many "fanservice in the show is very important. |

| I don't think it is. I didn't even liked it when I started to begin with. But when I continued watching it, I thought this might be a big fav of mine in the future. And I don't consider myself a member of the One Piece fandom either XD. I do understand why others might not like it and I respect that. |

| I think my favourite anime, Yama no Susume, is under appreciated, and it's the best anime to my own taste, but I know it's just not going to appeal to that many people. If some people spontaneously circlejerked it to the #1 spot on MAL I don't think it would take too long for FMAB fans to downvote it out of the top 10. As a thought experiment, I don't actually know how much other people like their own favourite anime. I personally love Yama no Susume, but some random normie's love for Boku no Hero Academia could be a lot stronger. |
