The first time I cried for anime must have been Ash from Pokémon being turned to stone, back in the 2000s. I cried compulsively in the movie Your Name and the anime I cried the most was Submerged Japan, I cried a lot too in 7- Ghost and Shingeki no Kyojin I always cry.

The only time I ever shed tears is the 10th episode of Violet Evergarden, Never done the same for some tear jerkers.

P.s: Violet Evergarden is not a tear jerker. Violet Evergarden The Movie is a true one.

couldn't agree more..!
It made me realize that even fiction can be that much painful

I've never cried while watching anime, but there were definitely some moments in which I came dangerously close to doing so. I'll list them below in order of when I watched each anime:

1) October 2nd, 2018; October 6th, 2018; October 11th, 2018: the Iwasawa/Yui/Angel Beats incidents
2) Violet Evergarden episode 10 (IMO the best V.E. episode and probably a top 3 episode of any 2018 anime)
3) Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho's finale
4) Dareka no Manasashi
5) Fruits Basket: The Final's final episodes
6) Megu-nee's and Taromaru's, um, circumstances? in Gakkougurashi

Plastic Memories...
The separation is always sad, but with the way it was in this anime, they moved the event to a higher level.

Violet Evergarden for sure. I teared up in some episodes, but I sobbed for 5 episodes straight. I woke up with swollen and puffy eyes the next morning, it was probably the longest crying session in my life too.
I sometimes forget to finish my sentences.

I have barley cried in any anime ever

But i literally could not stop crying every time ushio appeared on screen in Clannad afterstory for like 3 episodes.

Just thinking that both tomoya and ushio probably suffered so much up until this point

And Assassination classroom i cried a lot too
Just watch anime instead of looking at forums

Fruits Basket (2019)- The messages and the hard hitting moments always get me every time.
Violet Evergarden- Episode 10 was on peak. Literally cried for 5 mins after the ep finished.
Anohana- Another one I cried recently, the performances are just well done even so I don’t even liked the show alot.
Maquia- A real tear jerker of a film. Another one that always hit me.
AC- Oh man the last few was god damn heart breaking.

I tear up pretty easily when I'm very invested in a story, however it's something else when it comes to crying.
There is one show that actually managed to make me cry, which is Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, the episode with the old couple. I can easily rewatch any anime episode that made me emotional, except for this one. It feels too real, and seeing sad stories involving old people is one of the things that can make me cry the most.

Fata Morgana Visual Novel.
It's the most emotional piece of media I've ever experience. Of course, there are some other series which I got emotional such as Tsukihime VN, Steins Gate, Gintama Monogatari(currently watching), Bunny Girl Senpai, Golden Time(don't think it'll hit the same when I rewatch it tho) however Fata Morgana is the only series that I actually cried and even more than one time. Tsukihime is the only thing that gives me the closest emotion, which I cried, though in terms of sadness and crying Fata Morgana is unreachable for me.

Death Parade made me cry in multiple episodes but whenever I watch episode 4 I just cry...

Same with Assassination Classroom (episode before the finale) and Banana Fish (Last episode)

But these are classic animes that usually make everyone cry.. The weirdest anime that made me cry was Kemono Jihen.. I think I am the only person who actually cried in the finale episode when

That made me cry so bad... Most people says Akira was too annoying in that scene but his reaction was perfect to me...

Kanon 2006 literally made me bawl my eyes out for 3 straight episodes, no breaks. This was on a rewatch, so i knew what was going to happen, yet it hit way fucking harder the second time around

You'd be surprised just how many tears a person can produce haha

I cry in most romance animes, sometimes not because it's sad but because of how sweet it is. For example, the last epsiode of karakai jouzu no takagi-san (s2) made me feel emotional coz of how sweet it is. And i dont normally cry while watching other movies, anime are just different.

I also try to avoid animes that are obviously going to have a sad ending. Am I weird? haha

Anohana I teared up and cried for nearly all the eps, but the finale totally broke me, just ugly cried, same with made in Abyss finale, I just Completely broke again, but the one which made me tear and shed the most tears was off course Clannad AS, so many moments just made me go cold, it just hurt too much

Made in abyss, cried during the whole last three episode (keep in mind the last one is double lenght), it was a beautiful feeling to get so inversted on a work of fiction, so I had to give it a 10 and add it to my faves.

Before that the manga Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan was the one to make cry the most, but it was a way shorter time than MiA.

I remember being physically hurt in my chest when watching the second half of Clannad After Story.

NOTHING has ever come close to it when it comes to sad stuff for me.
