What do you guys think?
I am sure one anime would never be disliked by everyone in this entire world. So, what do you think?

No, there’s plenty of garbage out there that deserves a 1.

10 is the most extreme score and giving too much 10s is just plainly retarded because there are not that many perfect shows

Yeah, I agree with you. No anime can be a 1 in my opinion, even the worst of worst ones have something unique in them or atleast we have to acknowledge the efforts of the studios/animators who spent their time and effortin making it. According to me, the worst you can scre an anime is 3.
While 10 on the other hand is pretty easier to give, usually a 10 is given to an anime which you enjoyed through and through and appreciate each and everything about it. I believe its easier to like something to an extreme level than hate something to an extreme level.

Someone else made this same thread just 9 days ago, but ig not everyone cbf to use the search function in forums. But since I didn't comment on that one, ig i'll comment on yours. Yes, a score of 1 is more extreme than a score of 10. Because, I feel like it's easier to find at least something likeable in an anime, cause if not, then the person would drop it after the first couple episodes, instead of totruring themselves to finish it just to give it a 1. Most people shouldn't have that many scores of 1's and 10's on their lists to begin with tho. Cause an anime has to be extremly good to warrant a 10, and utter and complete shit to warrant a 10, which isn't not the case with a whole lot. I personally only have one anime scored as a 1, but it's an anime music video for Cardi B song, so yea. and like 8 or 9 10s. so yea, a 1 is more extreme than a 10.
i think i've had enough

Hmm, I think so? I think it's very hard to get literally everything wrong in order to deserve a 1 (most time it seems to be either spite or just a massive disapointement), and if there are genuinely 1s out there it's probably things that no one watches anyways, so it's normal for people to have more 10s, since there's genuinely amazing stuff out there, and if it's good, more people are bound to watch it in general.

Also this is more of a personal thing, but I dont tend to rate shows I don't finish since I don't have the full picture, so again I hardly ever give super low scores.

As some have already said, this is a duplicate of a recent thread. I'll provide the same answer I'd did there though - no as with the vast amount of series in a medium focused more on quantity and sales over quality in the product as well as the genuine effort needed to make something worthy of being called a masterpiece, it's statistically inevitable you'll get far more worthless series than you'll find series that are the pinnacle of what the medium can achieve.

I think so.

My idea of a 10 is not about perfection, nothing is perfect. It can just be so good to you that you can overlook any flaws that it may have.

I can never imagine hating a show so much that it will score a 1/10, and this is coming from somebody that really hated Clannad. It's easily my most disliked anime, but there was enough about it (animation and a few funny moments here and there) that stopped me giving it a 1. An anime would need to have absolutely nothing good about it for me to hate it that much.

Even for the Anime I didn't like

My scores are usually 3/10
1/10 is only for the Abominations like Berserk (2016-17) and probably the Ending of Attack on Titan which deserves Negative Score

Since there are more people who give out 10's than 1's on MAL, I'd say yeah, a score of 1 does come across as more extreme than a score of 10.

Yeah. For me, a 1 has to be completely devoid (or close to it) of any merit.

I have 3 times more 1's then 10's because the 10's i give are special anime to me. 1's i give are for anime i hate and i am not so naieve to think about bs such as "animators efford" i dont care, if something is trash in every aspect then it gets a 1.

10 is a massive score LMAO
Even the others said that we can considerate their efforts to make an anime, it's a big no for me. Garbage will always be garbage. Sorry, chumps.

Both Extremes are Bad but there is a little bit of sense in rating something 10 than rating something 1, like 1 is reserved for utter trash which is below garbage as it was so bad you regret your decision to watch. For me that is berserk 2016. Also anyone edgelord going back and giving an anime 1 which he prior rated 7 is like so dumb as he thinks that now his taste is superior and what he enjoyed is so bad that it's 1. I know few of these and it's kinda clownish but ok.

But i think i agree rating few anime 1 and few 10 is ok but if you are rating major anime 1 or 10 then my guy you either hate anime or watch only anime and love it too much and having extremes is kinda meh in long run.

1 is considered more extreme because people get more butthurt when you give their favorite anime low score than when you give a high score to anime that they don't like.

i'd say they are both about the same value to me. to rate a 1, said anime has to be very very bad. on the other hand, to be rated a 10, it'll have to be very very good.
no more forum pic. that's it.

It depends, I would say. If the anime is bad, then 1 would be more reasonable than 10

I'm much more reluctant to give a 1 compared to a 10. I've given at least one or two dozen tens if not more but I think I don't even gave five shows a 1. Though there are shows/manga/LNs where I definitely give the 1.

I guess it depends on each user-case - I rarely use 1/10 and 10/10 just because I personally think they're extreme values.

The global mean score is 6.40 so 1 is 50% more extreme than 10.

Sure, 10 is a really subjective score that most people use it even when the anime has technical issues (meaning it's not that extreme). But I guess a 1 means that the anime is really garbage, both technically and subjectively imo, so when someone uses it, it really means that anime is bad.

both are equally extreme. 1 means it has no redeeming factors and is completely shit while a 10 means is absolutely perfect with no flaws.

Yes, it really has to piss me off (easily done with pedo or rapey glorified content; otherwise it's hard to piss me off a lot) or being that bad in a way I have rarely seen to these days, and I'm easier excited and hooked into an anime than really pissed about it.

It varies from person to person. I rarely give out 1s and 10s. Maybe just because I'm very modest about my taste in anime. But between the two, I think 1 is a pretty extreme score. It's just hard for me to believe that someone would dislike an anime that much to give it such a low score

I honestly think so since I like most anime, thus me thinking more anime are good than being bad.

For me a 10/10 is harder than a 1/10.
I spend years looking for a 10, but find stupid shows easily, so easy that I drop and don't even list them. A 1/10 is equivalent to me torturing myself through watching a show that I was tricked by, know it's going to end stupidly and still I feel I'm already to deep to pull out. A score of 1/10 for me is an anime I have rated out of spite.
