| Onizuka seems to be happy now, but if most of his students are raised by single moms, then he might soon run out of money if he plans to go on "an educational date" with every mom. xD But yo, what the heck... Kunio's mom became pregnant at such very young age simply because she wanted to have a child...?! o_0 That's bizarre and screwed up to be honest. I wonder if her "boyfriend" pays at least alimony. |

| First Uehara with mommy issues now Kunio with mother complex. What's with this anime's obsession with moms? I'm not complaining tho lol. From Shonan Junai Gumi! I figured Onizuka wasn't into single moms and looks like that hunch was right. Still Kunao or Kunio whatever his name's mom is hot :P And also too young... From the preview I thought it'd be a filler-ish episode but it was still really good! Not as good as the last few episodes but good enough. Looks like this arc will continue in the next episode which I'm looking forward to. |

| I thought it was a phony lookalike, but that's literally a PlayStation 1. That's the actual Sony logo right on the controller with accurate buttons. That's literally Ape Escape. What the hell. Anyways, Murai's mother had him when she was just 13, AND the father ran off? I'm surprised she was able to carry Murai to term, despite her parents seemingly having none of it. Actually wait, I'm truly surprised that it wasn't until Murai was born when her parents kicked her out. Then again, there's not really an appropriate time to kick out a 13 year old mother. The whole situation is difficult, and so it's up to GTO to run with its story. I was assuming the episode would go more into Murai's home situation, but I guess it's pretty straightforward. Murai absolutely distrusts older men, and sees his mother as someone he'd need to look out and protect. This is especially true given the close age gap, where she could easily be mistaken as an older sister. Murai might not see his mother as someone reliable, especially given how she's an apparent magnet for all sorts of trouble. That being said, without any male role models in his life, Murai just acts with instinct, which explains his impulsiveness and anxiety-driven outbursts. Onizuka's solution to home visits is very Onizuka-like, for lack of a better term. He only visits the single moms, and turns the visits into informal dates. Is he looking to get laid? Most likely. Still, he gets to know his students' situations and what makes them tick, as well as familiarizing himself with their parents. Onizuka seems to not get involved with his students or their families unless there's a genuine need. Otherwise, he seems to just coast through his job. |

| unforgettable episode... Kunio must have the volume button somewhere in his body and no one ever turned it down from the maximum, and that's something i was thinking about already in 2003. But... honestly... is it really possible to be pregnant at 13 years old? 13 YEARS OLD? (*checks... oh, damn.) LOL, the face of her mother after that bad joke by Eikichi, and how he himself destroyed his own cover-up so easily. KUNIO ONIZUKA, LOL. What a great imagination moment. Kunio won an arcade Ikebukuro tournament? Did he meet Mami Honda from Super Gals meanwhile? It would be cool. Too bad he wasn't aware that Onizuka was hiding his skill and so he had to become a sore loser (poor sumo statue by the way). All this mess, and the date is with Kusano's mother. That slap. And a great speech by her mother. She was saved by Onizuka and he's still resisting? Whatever... she smiling like that in the final screen confirms a great ending. (too bad the (GREAT!) real Ape Escape reference was wasted by watching Onizuka playing with a impossible controller for it. Actually, never had the chance to play it myself but it must be good) |
