Well, suspension of disbelief sure went on a journey this episode. Still, those last minutes were executed quite nicely. Pretty intense atmosphere during the village raid (humanizing the Demons was a great idea in the end) and OST usage during the whole sequence was simply fantastic.

Imma be honest, i do agree more with Norman's side of solving the current situation but to be honest, i did enjoy the outcome, Emma and the others managed to return faster than i expected. And the whole grandpa scene was really good, there was no way that Norman had the courage to do that especially after what he saw.

I do wonder how things will evolve from this point, can't wait for the next episode!

Honestly, Im starting to wonder if i should drop the series all together. The new episode was fine but its really just starting to feel like spoilers for the manga for me. Does it make sense still continuing?

I'm in a similar situation, I'm buying the manga but in my country is only until now 16 volumes, and I don't know if I should continue watching or stop to avoid being spoiled, can any manga reader tell us if what is happening in the anime is spoiling us? I don't know if the anime is being original or mixing cannon with original

it's a mix of canon with original, yes. if you keep watching, you'll probably get spoilers for the manga ending.

Also, am I the only one who shares Emma's ideologies? I get that they're rash and logically impossible but...I guess I'm just a hopeless optimist.

No, fortunately, you are not. And her ideas are not as illogical as they may seem. It is indeed possible to long for peace and goodness while admitting the cruel nature of the world around you. It is possible to fight the enemy without attributing their guilt to all the people of the group they belong to. It's just hard to think about it when you are feeling menaced all the time. That's why Emma is so misunderstood.

I see, thank you for that outlook, I definitely agree ^-^

While I haven't been enjoying this season as much as the first, I was pleasantly surprised by this episode! A lot more action than usual. The soundtrack towards the end was beautiful and chilling. Norman's experience in the village was really powerful, and the end of this episode left me feeling hopeful that the season will be more exciting going forward.

This is probably the best episode of this 2nd season so far and it's also refreshing to see a discussion thread of this series not setting itself up in flames of anger for once.

It was intriguing to see from Norman's point of view of what happened when he got transferred to the Lambda research facility and how he and his group broke out with some rather brutal results.

Although Emma and Norman were able to find Sonja and Mujika after their run in with the CGI demon, Norman made his move and attacked the demon town. It wasn't an easy watch as we see a lot of the innocent demons getting decimated by the drug which reverts them back to their basic form compared to what they are right now.

What I wasn't expecting was that the drug smoke had no effect on the elderly blind demon who came back in time to save his granddaughter, who is ALSO called Emma, which made Norman hesitate in killing the grandpa demon. In doing so, Norman and human Emma made it back in time.

It made for a gripping watch and the OST used for this episode was really good, too. The pacing was on the quick side, but I feel satisfied with it. =)

These are some changes from the manga that I can appreciate. We got to know the demons better, the reason why Emma doesn't want to kill the demons feels more understandable, and Norman regretting his action feels more realistic.
Still, everything is so rushed that it's hard to care about what's going on

Norman basically betrayed Emma and Ray along with everyone to get what he wanted. Norman is suddenly wavering. Seeing the whole town go berserk was scary and sad at the same time, like some zombie invasion. The grandpa demon has special blood and he also knew about degeneration.

Watching kids like them are killing other creatures...it really hurts, hurts a lot. And I've been predicting that Norman will do it before Emma even finds Sonju and Mujika, I've been expecting this outcome, but at least Norman has already see the power of abnormal devils...didn't expect the Grandpa is the same race like Sonju and Mujika, but yeah, it is what it is...and Norman needs to learn a lot from Eren Jaeger, if you want to be...Norman Jaeger, hahahaha...

Not even that Humans can jump from Pillars which are higher than houses without damage?
Also norman just walking through a city without anyone attacking him.
Or that the kids randomly can find Mujika and Sonju for no reason at all. Based on what did they track them down. They have no reason to just be around the same area all the time.

Good episode. I'm glad Norman went ahead with the plan, things were moving too slowly. At this point Phil and the rest of the kids at Gracefield are never gonna get saved because Emma is too worried about human eating demons than ensuring there's a safe environment for the kids to live in.

Also why did Don and Gilda go with Emma and Ray to hunt for Sonju and Mujika? What would have happened if all of them got killed... the kids would have been left with no big sister or big brother figure to lead them.

If the kids won't be kidnapped or even discovered to be by the next episode, you can say goodbye to anything "definitive" regarding the ending of this season.

Things are easier said than done Norman. His hatred for the demons is understandable seeing as the "Orphanage" he was born and raised in with his siblings is nothing more than a farm for demons and he's fighting for a future where emma and the rest can live in peace. However when he saw the Grandpa demon call out "Emma" do his granddaughter he realized that the demons like humans have families they love and care about. Also, shocker that gramps demon is someone who drank Mujika's blood. Looks like not all of her followers were rounded up and killed. The question is what Norman and his followers will do now that Mujika was brought to them. I'm also keeping an eye on Sonju ever since he said he hopes to hunt and eat demons in the future. Will he Betray Mujika in the future? Is Norman now Emma and Ray's enemy? What will become of the demon girl and her grandpa now that they drank Mujika's blood?

it's just so unfortunate that they rushed things and there was no suspense anymore on what happened to Norman D: I was super scared when reading the manga that he might've been changed in some obscene way by their experiments...
still, these last 2 episodes were good and they really made me feel for the grandpa and his little girl ><

I get what they're doing now. they skipped Goldly Pond because it doesn't do much for the story. I like the flashback here as it clears up a mega plothole but still creates a new one. Like, how did they get bombs to escape? I'm expecting a season 3 but wouldn't be shock if we end here. I get what the creator was doing now. It makes so much sense! He wanted to focus on the human vs. demons conflict and getting sidetrack really hurt things for him.
I haven't updated in years but now I have changed that. I'll be free soon.

Just letting anime watchers know who think Emma is being too optimistic with her goals, Emma at this point does have some kind of plan because of manga events that were skipped, her ideals are still the same but at least she has some kind of solution and isn't being completely naive/idealistic.

Yea... Emma take your mask off so we can know it's you running away from the giant spider thing. Not like i can tell the difference, you're all watered down to the same degree anyway.

Norman is written by someone who doesn't know how to write a smart character. Norman comes off as a pseudo-intellectual: we're never shown how he deciphers problems - he just solves them flat out. How does he know there's six camera in the room? How does he know about 'explosives'? You'd have to be one hell of a rarity to solve a rubix cube without ever seeing one before or prior knowledge of said item's existence. Norman crossing barcodes off linked to his choices tells us all we need to know: "he's smart but it doesn't matter". If so then what's the point of his character trait? Showing Norman playing chess doesn't make Norman a smart character. It's almost parody level writing. This whole spiel about Norman 'living long enough to become the villain' is an overdone trope. Just watch literally any Vigilante Superhero movie instead. Norman is blaming Demons for something humans did to him. He's literally an idiot child. Smart people don't thrive and push their agenda based on an Us & Them Complex. It's a bit of a curse really, to be of a higher intellect because you don't see things as simpiciities. Norman sees his problems as simplicities and his little cult are committing genocide against a race of mammals for no reason at all besides spite. This level of intellect is low considering we've seen Demons who aren't anti-human. You're telling me Norman, being the 'smart' character that he is didn't predict this possibility? This show is downright stupid.

Having the main cast run around in Demon outfits like they're straight out of Majora's Mask is comical. I thought Demons could smell humans. None of this show makes any sense even within the confines of its own universe's rules! It's trying too hard to be like season 1 but unwittingly is failing come every turn. I'm surprised this still has a rating over 7; 'good' just feels like padding for people who can't accept the downhill spiral this show has descended into.
Lie until what you want to be true becomes truth. Lie until you can't remember what's a lie and what isn't.  Lie until you aren't lying anymore!

Right this whole shows pacing fucking sucks!

He says "I can get explosives" huhhhh how??
He says "I just need parts for a detonator" ooooook from where?
I know they're watching us 24/7 and have cameras everywhere, but we can sneak paper to each other in a bullshit Rubik's cube!!! Whaaaat?

Oh and see all this research I've been doing and all these body parts I have and The dead demons everywhere.....Don't worry about it cause we're not going to explain anything so you don't need to know......ok

Also no offense but fuck those demons in the butt..... You show us for two long seasons how horrible demons are, how evil they are, how they will eat you in the blink of an eye to save themselves, how some of them are mindless and you can't negotiate whatsoever, how others are so corrupted by power that they'll never change ever.

Oh but a few demons in a town we've never really seen before except for one episode are dying so let's just forget it and be friends.

Hmm I thought only Mujika's blood could cure degeneration, but it seems who drank it can also pass the cure to the others. Now there's no excuse at all to kill the demons if they can be saved like that, and that also cancels the need to eat humans. I really hope Emma and the others can manage to save the survivors of the village in the next episode.

Okay I think I've figured out my problem with the latest episodes. They are describing a show I would rather watch. Like I don't want scenes where characters stand in a room and say information to each other. I would have much rather seen more episodes from Norman's pov as he learns it. The escape would have also been cool to see fully instead of just a montage

Oh, finally Norman's flashback. Too bad what could have been a whole episode or more, was only 5 minutes and they barely explained anything. There are so many things left up in the air...

I liked the last part of the episode though, shame that what led up to it was so rushed. Then again, quite convenient how fast Mujika's horse is xD.

Ok, this is the best episode in the season.
It rushed Norman's back story and didn't really explain how he's dying and how he made the degeneration weapon, these issues will be the overall season's faults, not this episode's fault.

Also why the "Martha" in BVS doesn't work is Batman literally changes his entire character because it happened to be his mother's name.......but still murders some of the warehouse goonies. "Emma" in this episode does make Norman falter but he still doesn't change his character, he still goes for the kill, Emma's interference is what stopped him.
