We got to see Yano all over again and he’s equipped himself with an array of new magical spells. Fam this dark magic ting is deffo gonna be important. Grey also having that little Cinderella like backstory as well. And finally luck; he literally transformed into an element. DO YOU NOT KNOW HOW MAUUUD THAT IS

So we got to see something of Greys past. What a shitty family. But now it makes way more sense why Gauche is so important to her. Who knows what would have happened if he didn't show up protected her from the bandits. Grey also made the next step with her transformation magic even if I have no clue how she managed to close Gauches wound.

God damn Yami. Why do you always have such an epic entrance? He became an even bigger monster as before lol. Sure Dante isn't at full power but still, that was insane. He also managed to learn a lot of new techniques in this short training period. The question is how much did his last attack hurt Dante?

Luck also got some screen time which is always appreaciated. His opponent was weird with his skin ability but being able to use 60% of the devil power is no joke. So definitely a close call for Luck at the end but his "Ceranos" looked epic. 7 episodes left >.>

yes this is one thing I found stupid in the manga I didn't like how they beat the guardians so easy when they were hyping them up like this I would have preferred the spirit guardians team up with their students like Luck and Leo instead of having them beaten so easy that just means the heart kingdom is sooo weak that how comes no one ever bothered invading them in the past

arcane stage doesn't equal to power or how strong the mage is. It's more of the title given to those with unique magic. Nero is level 6 by heart kingdom standards but her sealing magic can be considered arcane since its rare. Same goes for Asta (level 0) , Grey and Vanessa.

You think they can cover everything in the remaining 7 episodes? I also read the manga along with the anime but I am not sure they can fit everything honestly speaking

many manga readers are predicting to cover up until ch.273 which I think is the best to end the season.

Luck jumping and ramping up speed with those magic circles reminded me a lot of Bellamy's Spring Hopper from One Piece. Luck's always been a fast character. Looks like he'll be leagues faster once he masters those magic runes. Yami was even more impressive this episode. His toolkit has become more insane. Mana zone and an pseudo anti-magic zone!?

Grey being arcane stage was surprising. The Black Bulls now have 5-6 arcane stage mages: Yami, Nero, Asta, Vanessa, Grey, and possibly Charmy (half human/half dwarf has to have some special properties). Aren't arcane mages are supposed to be incredibly rare? The Black Bulls have insane potential to be the strongest Magic Knight Squad in history.

I didn't like how quickly (and seemingly effortlessly) the Spirit Guardians (sans Gaja) were defeated. Those guys are supposed to be the equivalent to Clover Kingdom's Magic Knight Captains. I hope they at least took some of the Spade Kingdom offscreen. It also feels weird how Luck was able to beat a person with 50% devil powers. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of luck, but that made me more disappointed with the Spirit Guardians. Additionally, 50% is even higher % than the two Spade Kingdom soldiers that Yuno beat.

Well, well, well. I'd agree with everyone that Grey's backstory is just like Cinderella. The less-liked kid of the family, and meeting Gauche in that moment (with Marie) was a moment of harkening, no wonder these two are close to each other. Quite the surprise that Grey is also an Arcane stage mage.

The moment has come: Yami vs. Dante. Though the animation falters somewhat, it's clear that Pierrot is saving the budget for the high moments for the finale. Even in the grounds with another Dark Disciple, the Great Svenkin vs. Luck, what a crazy battle.

Holding up for the weeks leading to the finale.

'Thanks, that was a lot of fun'.. What a way to close out another fantastic episode, and then the end track kicks in again. Squeeeeee!

Epic to see Grey being recognised for her true power. And also fun too see her being saved in the forest. One must wonder if Gauche used to just wander about carrying his sister before he joined the Black Bulls. The thought made me chuckle as its entirely possible. I'll totally ship Grey and Gauche. I'm guessing her own wrecked family life she sees his sister complex as family bonds she never got to experience.

And well Captain. Fuck yes, his training with Mereoleona has clearly reaped rewards. Which also begs the question, just what did Mereoleona gain from sparring with Yami.

Next episode please!

I'm probably double posting but I can't let this go without a comment (watched it a day late otherwise someone else would of posted by the time I write this). Grey in the previous arcs showed massive potential power in the elf arc. Without knowing the technicalities until this episode where we see her backstory and that her transformation magic can clearly re-knit, even flesh and bone and overcome mortal wounds.

Honestly, if I was ever entering a battlefield of warriors and magic, I wouldn't want to be on your side, because anyone who can reverse mortal wounds is not simply a side character. The whole dialogue in the battle between the demon dude and Yami even points this out, right down to the point the demon guy says hes never been jealous of a human until now.

I even question if we watching the same show tbh?

Gray had healing/sealing abilites!? and she's surprisingly arcane level as well!?!?
Gauche should pay respect to Gray with his life! if not because of her, Gauche would be no more!
Asta is down for the moment!
Yami right on time! and definitely stronger than ever! but for sure he'll still have an extremely hard time dealing with Dante.
way to go Luck! i hope Manga would also be as strong as Luck!

I just don't really give a shit about Black Clover. Grey was one of the most uninteresting characters for me. Seeing her backstory when I'm excepting a cool fight with Yami is annoying enough, but then it turns out to be a Cinderella ripoff which just makes me roll my eyes. How convenient that she unlocks her healing power now just in time to save Gauche. It would have been infinitely more interesting if Gauche actually dies here because Grey couldn't activate the power of friendship to save him. Not only is it a character death of someone a decent number of Black Clover fans actually give a shit about, but it opens up potential for a great growth arc for Grey where she can learn to harness her power due to her failure of saving the person that saved her. Well ain't that something.

I never expected that Grey (her backstory anyway) was going to be directly based on Cinderella. I am very curious about her new power(s), and I was surprised that she is arcane stage as well. It appears that the arch-demon Dante + Lucifero underestimated Yami and/or overestimated their own powers. It was funny when Lucifero starting bashing Asta's demon in the previous episode as supposedly "very inferior than the Magic Triad", repeating the exact same pattern of the humans who underestimated Asta because he lacked mana. We all know how that turned out..

Yami was already badass, but after leveling up (or is it.. "level down" since he is arcane stage and arcane stages appear to be negative?) with the help of training with Mereoleona he is now arguably the strongest Magic Captain (even stronger than Vangeance). Perhaps he is on par with Mereoleona now, or just slightly weaker (in raw physical power he must be certainly weaker, but Yami has other tricks up his sleeve Mereoleona lacks). Ffs, he even developed his own form of anti-magic and even his own magic domain, and these are on top his dimension slash OP spell..

Luck beat a half-demon stronger than him in a very clever way, developing "True Lighting" in the process. It appears in the next episodes the background of Asta will finally be revealed, after the glimpse we saw in the previous episode. And Charmy is going to get serious against someone who probably either messed wither her food or peace. I hope we see her wolf mode again!

Yeah very right. First of all Grey being a arcane stage magician is awesome but I wish they had told a bit more about it. We just saw her change the sword and do new magic which may be healing magic but not clear. But it was really good otherwise. Yes! Dante is likewise underestimating Asta and has a big surprise coming towards him. Although we don't know what percent of devil power Asta is using but it is to be noted that even Dante isn't using it's full potential (or maybe he can't). Dante is just using 50% of it moreover he's being cautious that he doesn't hurt Yami to that extent that the Dark Triad can't "use" him as apparently he's the gateway to hell.

Haha yasss. Yami is my fav character and he certainly is more strong then ever now. Why do you think Vangence is the strongest of all the captain's? (Just curious). Sis-Vermillion is just too strong and I would like to see another spar between our guy and her. Yami has an upper hand from all the others cz of his "Ki sensing" ability. Formidable guy isn't he. Although his dark magic is a bit slow unlike him.
So his mana zone : condense works exactly like (have you seen Jujutsu Kaisen?) Miwa's New Shadow Style: Simple domain. Both are Iai attacks and it bothered me a lot that Yami didn't sheath his sword after the attack but I don't know whether it's mandatory to sheath it cz it's a quick draw technique and most of the Iai techniques that I've seen in anime involve sheathing of the blade. It's just more cool that way.

What is "True Lightning" and how is it different from the lightning that Luck produced? I didn't understand that part. Can you clarify for me? Finally we get to know more about Asta's demon and it'll knock the socks off of our feet XD. Charmy paisen for the win!

so i have a few concerns idk if its just me

-why doesnt marx just look into asta and everyone who fought the elves' memories and just show everyone they are actually innocent? could clear up a lot and prevent the devil believers

-where is zora

-theres a lot happening at once so where is the wizard king? where are the other magic knight squads? literally no one from the aqua deer has appeared

-WHAT HAPPENED TO MARS?????? (diamond kingdom guy)

also this is a load but did i miss something? suddenly the anime made asta buffer and new clothes

Also, that fight between Luck and the spade kingdom dude. Wow, mindblowing. He's defo grown a lot. Grey's backstory was so sad - kinda reminded me of cinderella when the stepmom and stepsisters made her clean the house.

Looks like the next episodes will be action-filled.

Will black clover end on a cliffhanger?

I feel like a lot of the Black Clover characters have been forced character changes recently, Luck being that openly passionate is another one.

Grey's backstory is like a nod to Cinderella's story. Plus, she is an arcane stage and no Zenon. You can't take those 2 beauties. One belongs to Gauche while the other to the Black Bulls. Yami vs. Dante was amazing. Luck vs. weirdo was great!

yami is a fucking boss. my god. he can create a portal to the underworld?

grey is an arcane stage? is she able to "un-transform" any magic that someone else uses? i don't really get what she did (obviously she dispelled dante's magic, but...how?)

and yes luck. my boy gets to fight uninhibited, finally. acne fort skin guy told luck to sit this one out and luck simply replies "don't wanna". haha, simple reply but it made me laugh

so are spade kingdom mages not able to use natural mana? that's what the heart kingdom does, right? so in essence, they never run out of mana because they just use the mana from the surrounding environment, which is infinite

I like the parallel of Grey's past to Cinderella's, the harsh treatment that she faced in her home from her stepsisters and stepmother is the reason Grey is the extremely shy and anxious person she is today. When she's at her lowest, Gauche conveniently crossed her paths and saved her. I've always seen these two as a potential ship, I meant, who wouldn't since Gauche himself already knew of Grey's true form since about a hundred eps ago. Not to mention the revelation of how Grey felt towards Gauche in this ep's backstory. It's all quite charming really.

Now for arguable one of the most useful and completely broken power in the Black Clover universe. Grey's upgraded 'transformation' magic. An ability that could alter the properties and shape of non-magic matter, meaning, Grey knows how to use matter manipulation magic This is enough for her to be ranked as an arcane stage, after all, the power to alter materials itself down to its molecule is a fearsome ability indeed.

Man, Luck's fight in the manga was longer, this is just unfair. I guess by now Luck is so fast that the animators can't keep up giving more screentime to Luck XD.

Well, nothing else in this ep stood out as much as the absolute unit himself; YAMI AND HIS BADASS-NESS!!! His black hole is a great counter to Dante's gravity, and his sharpened senses via KI and mana zone made him a natural (or in this case, unnaturally) powerful swordsman, I doubt Dante's swordsmanship can even match Yami's, especially without the gravity assisting his movements. All this and Yami still got Dark cloaked slashes and dimension slashes as long-ranged attacks, LET'S FUCKING GOOOO!!! The GOAT Captain is here to kick some Devil-possessed asses (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)

Grey also had a scarring childhood with her stepfamily, I'm thinking why did she happen to be their relative in the first place, What a bunch of narcissists, So Grey and Gauche actually met before they joined the Black Bulls

And Yami arrives about time this badass takes place and they honestly look so intimidating their VA's as well did a great job portraying their characters really plausible stuff

Amazing to see Yami improve so many factors of his swordsmanship and fighting skills and even damaged Dante in the process, While Luck on the other hand may seem troubled but that 6 months of training definitely was not a waste in my book.

(P.C. Today's the day Grey finally thanks Gauche but tis not the day she overcomes her bashfulness)

So we got the beginning of the Gauche x Grey ship which feels a little weird. Especially with how obsessed Gauche is with his sister.

Yami really was badass fighting against Dante. Too bad Dante won't go down even near this easily.

Luck's fight was cool but it felt a little out of place compared to the rest of the episode.

Who would've thought embarassed Grey has a Cinderella backstory and siscon Gauche was her prince to the rescue. Bit disappointed in the spirit guardians getting defeated so easily whereas Luck managed to defeat a dark disciple.

So, Grey is in love with Gose, her past was also pretty sad!
Yami is definitely the strongest captain right now, I can tell because how much he has grown is just incredible!
Excited for next episode!

Dat flashback.
Vanessa oppai helicopter view.
Asta is down.
Now he wants Grey to be in his harem?
Yami arrives.
Yami can connect to the underworld?
Dat iai.
Svenkin.
Luck.
Went right through him.
Dat ending.

So Grey is Cinderella. In the manga, the guy said Grey's body will do. Of course, they alter such lines again.
