The fact it's long doesn't make it necessarily boring...

Being long doesn't mean it's boring unless it's a tiny ass story they decided to stretch which is usually not the case.

it would get boring if you watch too much at once, there would be burn out. With Monster, I'm watching two episodes at a time, and with Gintama, I watched roughly 6 episodes at a time, though I overdid it sometimes, which led to some burn out.

It'd important to remember that even when a series is long running, or just has a long length, you can still take your time. If I wanted to catch up with say, One Piece for example, I could watch it one episode a day, and even if there are hundreds of episodes, I would inevitably catch up, because they only come out with an episode a week, while I'd be watching 7 episodes a week.

This is purely a hypothetical scenario of course, as One Piece basically requires multiple episodes per viewing to get any substance, but that's a basic idea to keep up with a long running series without it necessary getting boring.

I think it would be better to watch a few episodes at a time, but not too much per day, that way it wouldn't get boring, as these kinds of series tend to be paced differently from the average seasonal fair

I finished HxH 2011 in a week and the first 200 eps of Gintama in 8 days (which I regret). I think that long anime are usually better than short anime because the characters are given a lot more development (usually). Long anime just tend to have more arcs, not just one huge arc that takes up the whole season. They're certainly just as entertaining.

Long doesn’t mean it’s boring throughout. I don’t really think fmab counts as long though. 100+ episode is long

Long anime don't really get boring or bad unless its filler paradise like Naruto and Bleach. Even long anime have stories that can keep you interested till the end which makes them possible to watch

I like to watch 4-6 episodes before I go to bed. Bit by bit like that is the comfiest to me when I'm watching long-running anime. I'm starting Legend of the Galactic Heroes soon so wish me luck.

Long animes are shows that I watch very leisurely in between while I search for the next 12-24 eps anime to watch. For Gintama for example, I watch it by arcs and they usually consist of a couple eps at a time. This also makes it not boring cause each arc is a "new story" and easier to digest.

procrastination for other stuff makes me want to watch long anime...

I also skip through the episode if it gets too slow or boring and focus on the interesting stuff.

And for Detective Conan, I just searched for the episodes where the characters I like are in and then watch those arcs/episodes only. Fortunately two of those characters are important to the very stretched out plot lol

As a One Piece fan, I rather enjoy longer series. There is more time to develop the characters and build up parts of the story for later.

I've been watching LotGH, Monster and Gintama at a pace of one episode per day, leaving the rest of my free time for shorter series. I definitely recommend this approach if you're afraid of getting bored.

You got to remember not to binge tons of episodes a week, and take it at a slow pace such as 3-5 a week or even once a week. You have to remember that these shows are meant to be watched as such to prevent them from getting stale.

I thought one piece would take forever to complete, but it only ended up taking a month because for some reason it was really interesting. Same with Yu Yu Hakusho, Nana, Monster, FMAB, Naruto, and HXH, I start them and end up just binging them because they aren't boring for me
Gintama is taking a while though because unlike other Long running animes, its arcs can be very short or episodic, so its not necessarily boring but its just harder to sit down and binge

I don’t know man when i want to watch a long anime i kinda just eat it
My first two animes were naruto and one piece.
I watched bleach without fillers in less than two weeks and i ended dragonball(classic, Z and super until episode 90 something)
also in a small period.
I don’t want to brag i am just illustrating how crazy a 13-14 year old can be with his free time. Now i am 16 and i only have small anime to watch

If its a boring anime, i watch a secondary anime in between just to keep things interesting or drop the anime and continue it after sometime.

But to be true most of the time, i get too excited watching long running anime and couldn't stop watching anime.

The only type of long running anime, i get bored is when the plot doesn't progress or which contain all 1 or 2 episode arcs (Like gag/comedy or slice of life genre). Otherwise i don't get bored.

I've recently watched all the monogatari series and it was my first "long" anime... All at once. It wasn't unbearable at all because if you get attached to the characters, you want to know more about them. You don't even think about finishing it once you enjoy the story it tells you about, you don't want it ends.

Of course if it's dense, you better watch it slowly. But if you're hooked, you'll just watch hundreds of episode easy

Yeah Monogatari series is the only long one that I have watched. It has some charm to it, which I didn't find in FMAB.

The longest anime I've watched is Naruto. There were some points while it was airing where I took a break from it because I wanted to explore other anime. I didn't catch up with it until some time in my high school years when the anime had ended. I didn't get bored watching series like Yu Yu Hakusho because it was only 112 episodes. The same can be said for Ashita no Joe which had only 126 episodes. I'm currently watching Black Clover. It took me maybe six months to get caught up on it.

As many have already said, there's always the possibility of taking breaks after some amount of episodes, to watch something else time to time etc. I like watching longer anime, but then again sometunes I feel a need to watch something shorter.

Of course considering according to MAL I started watching Detective Conan December 7th 2019, so 11 months ago and I've watched 676 episodes, 16 movies and multiple OVAs and specials of it while also watching a lot of other anime.

Being long doesn't mean the anime is boring. I really like long anime series. I have watched many long animes, like One Piece, Detective Conan (I'm up to date with both and I didn't skip any episode), Bleach, Fairy Tail and now I am almost finishing Naruto Shippuden. Being long there is more chance to watch a more developed story and characters, also in spite of being a lot of episodes there is a lot of different things to watch.
Obviously, you need to watch various episodes per day to watch a long anime (at least 3 per day maybe), but you can watch another shorter anime simultaneously with the long anime, thus, maybe you can feel it less boring.

It's not a good idea to watch a long anime with the intention of catching up or finishing it as fast as possible. Take your time and enjoy it slowly / at your own pace

depends on the show. If I actually like it then I won't feel the length. I find them more memorable/satisfying to watch than shorter series that are only 12 episodes.

I binged both Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, and all 11 movies, HxH, 3-4 seasons of Free!!, and 3 seasons of Haikyuu and KNB. I think it depends how well the anime does on the attention front, i.e. how long it can hold your attention, and how much it piques one's interest. But if I start to find an anime boring, I stop watching it for a while and watch other shows, like Hollywood series

I take it one arc at a time. It's easier to watch if I think of it as just a bunch of 1 or 2-cour series together. If I can't do that, then just watching 1 episode every so often will get me closer to completing it eventually.

Just watch it while not thinking about how long it would be.

As long as the anime is interesting even 100 or 200 episodes could still be too short, this happened to me when I watched LoGH before.
