Anyways, I copied this from r/anime. It is from the user, u/darthvall, and they kinda explains the episode for anyone still confused...

"So GOH is a tournament to find the "key", right? I'm still not sure what the "key" means and how is it significant. Maybe unlock some kind of forbidden god?

Anyway, in this episode the girl from mujin's staff tried to interrogate the three doppelgangers from nox. Apparently, some big shot from nox appeared and killed those doppleganger and beat the staff too.

To make things worse, he summoned those big sword to disrupt GOH tournament once and for all. Maybe to wipe out mujin's team as they are nox's main adversary. Also if both Ilpyo and Jin's team could be killed here, then Jegal's team would automatically win the final?

But Mujin had expected that and with the help of one of the six (that hobo dude), managed to prevent that big sword.

However, suddenly they sensed the key to have awakened in Ilpyo.

As for Jin vs Ilpyo fight, I think it's pretty straightforward."

The animation was subpar but the soundtrack was great. Also, Mori's fight was very thrilling.

Ok, I changed my mind about the animation. I've watched the fight again and even though it's not the best animated episode so far it is still great!

I did like to build-up towards the fight between Jin Mo-Ri and Park Il-Pyo, really amazing.
Everything else felt really rushed and I feel like a lot of interesting information was left out unfortunately.
At the end I was quite surprised that Park Il-Pyo is the key which makes me curious and really excited for the next episode.

Pretty dope fight between Mori and Ilypo was incredible! Animation was amazingly fluid, I just wish they didn't cut away to other things happening at the same time. But still a great episode!

Battles on multiple ends, didn't expect to see Mujin Park struggle against one of Nox, Like he always seemed like the big-shot among the members of six. Was nice to see another member of six join in with a pretty unique way of using his powers. Dancing on a song, I liked that.

That cliffhanger though, the Key has awakened???

the last 5 minutes went bananas holy shit lol

so this is the famous 3D motion capture animated scene that director Park is talking about right

so Iipyo is the key eh
does that mean he only got his Charyeok right now

lets see how Jin Mori wins this one

Unfortunately, too many stupid and toxic people like to compare this anime with others, and fanboys who like to watch hentai.

This anime is not very feasible for people who expect a good story, if you want a good story just watch drama

but I think the story and executionof this show are very good.

Why do you feel it’s good if you don’t mind me asking? And how comes you feel people who dislike this show are toxic and stupid?
I think telling people not to expect a good story is a cop out.

That was wild. I got full on old school Orochimaru vibes when they started summoning massive demon gates. Those feels. Then the dude on the roof with his drummers and weapons totally hyping the atmosphere and that's before we even think about what happened in the arena. It got wild, and it got out of control, but it was fantastic!

Overall, this episode is decent, but still a bit overhyped to me. On the one hand, we have "pseudo-hand-to-hand" combats in a fighting ring; on the other, the God/Charyeok things are all over the place on a city scale, which makes those flashy fires/dragons like nothing. It feels like watching two different shows stitched together. I'm also not sure about the use of motion capture here. Those mocap combat scenes were not so smooth as anticipated and felt like a "flip book" (?).

Most of the hype came from the atmosphere/tone of the show, as far as fights go maybe not as good as ep5 but the osts were great imo made it hype and better than ep5 overall, heard ppl complaining the osts were not impactful early on in the season, I don't think that's the case anymore. Am I the only one who caught that Knight Run easter egg when one of the six unveils the national treasures?

Thought Food Wars was over the top with it's showings, but holy hell. Still loved it however.

It's honestly gone current Tekken levels. Or least Tekken and Mortal Kombat levels put together. Tekken in sense it started off as a simple fighting tourney. Then it's become so much more, so so so much more.

This is actually not true. The King of Fighters and Street Fighter series started as normal tourneys. Then they turned into a giant mess. Mortal Kombat and Tekken from the start were unnormal tournaments. Maybe the premise for Tekken was simple but the people who joined by no means were normal.

Also you are the first (I believe) to have mention Tekken in these discussion forums. Glad to see another Tekken fan! Doesn't Ilpyo's fighting style resemble Hwoarangs?

Prob should've worded my comment better lol. I meant more as in how the games started off, compared to how they are now. Tekken at least I mean, only threw Mortal Kombat's name in at the time, because my brain at the time didn't think passed those with the devil gene in terms of over the top power haha. While the story of course, doesn't make it any normal tourney, just how the games went from just a 2d fighter, to what it is now.

Yeah, it certainly does!

Is anyone else really lost watching this show? I feel like they've rushed the whole story. Yes the animation is fantastic but the story and the plot is just not there. I really want to like this show but I just can't. There's too much too fast. Terrible development.

As someone who's started to catch up to this anime relatively recently I need to say that it went from "your run of the mill anime tournament arc stretched into entire season" to Mortal Kombat on steroids territory really quickly. Also, I find the Crunchyroll logo on the arena (during episode proper, it doesn't bother me during opening) really obnoxious as an out f presented world element (at least they still haven't gone full EA).

Well, they just threw out pacing, plot development, build-up and story out the window and just 'animated'. So much things just happen in this anime in the space of these characters fighting for 5mins.

After a few kicks and counter punches how is Jin Mori down but was fine eating a bomb to the face.

Why can Jin Mori just copy the moves he sees and why did he return to taekwondo after when that's his weakness?

How does Iipyo outclass Jin Moris taekwondo but when Jin Mori returns to taekwondo, Iipyo loses?

Where is the blood coming from when Mori slices and cuts with the Moon Blade on Iipyo?

Why did the guys just sit and watch the cult summon the god when they just tear them up easily? Wasn't it easier to do that before all that summoning happened?

How did we even get here in one episode?

I said it in episode 2 or 3 but they killed all their fight scenes by having these characters get launched into the ground shattering concrete, taking explosives to the face, and now have us believe that a few taps to the shoulder, chest and legs SUDDENLY has these same characters on the brink of defeat....

Taking it for what it is (a show purely for hype) puts back the frustrations just a bit.

Best. Episode. So. Far!!! The soundtrack was lit, the animation blew my mind (someone 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘸 that fight between Jin and Ilpyo!) and so much awesome shit went down. Yet again, a brilliant balance of visual appeal and an intense, captivating plot.

I didn't expect that Ilpyo would be the key, but hopefully, that doesn't change anything about him as a person. The character design for Ilpyo's Nine-Tails form is so amazing!

That was some damn good rotoscoped animation between the tiger cubs. Every move was beautiful. I just wish they didn't cut the fight off every 5 seconds for some god of war meets dark souls thing in the back that I don't understand one bit.

Great animation. Yes, the story is very simple, and the world building is a mess, but I feel MAPPA's done a good enough job with the animation that I don't think I can give this lower than a 6 in good conscience. We're still a few episodes from the end, so that opinion could change again, but that fight sequence was just plain awesome. I just wish it had a decent story backing it like Demon Slayer.

God damn I don't even know where to start with all what was going on in this episode. It startetd pretty chill when they showed more of Il-Pyos past and how one of his friends got badly injured by Taek.

The first fight of Daewi wasn't to hard for him I would say but we could see that he made some progress in using Charyeok. In the meantime we heard more about Nox and their goal.

I guess like a lot of other people here I didn't even know what was going on outside. That white haired guy summoned this giant sword again and Mu-Jin was able to stop it. But happened after that? This giant black figure who came out of that gate and grabbed the sword? One of the six also joined the fight. His technique looked pretty interesting even if all the events at once were almost to overwhelming :D

I loved the dynamic in the fight between Mori and Il-Pyo. Suprising Mori had 3 weaknesses and even more surprising that he's able to copy Miras and Daewis techniques. So Il-Pyo is the key? Even if we don't know the meaning behind it I loved the look of Il-Pyo. I definitely got some Naruto Sage Mode vibes. With that I can't even imagine how Mori would be able to win from here on, but let's see what will happen next.

Despite all the criticisms I have for this series, I really enjoyed a hell lot from this episode.

Kudos to studio MAPPA. Hand-to-hand combat fight scenes were phenomenal. Imagine if they had just stick to that, and never introduced the "charyeok" thing, maybe I would have enjoyed this series a whole lot more.

The hype of that episode! The part where the guys are beating their instruments and the guys is going ham trying to stop the blade was sick! The fight even if they are rotoscoped are really cool and dynamic. I didn't even care about "the key" aspect of the episode. I just enjoyed the energy exuding from the action and moment.

Everything was on point in this episode, the music, direction, animation and choreography were all just amazing. But I belive this episode would've been incredible if the story was told in a better way, many characters were getting introduced now, having backstories now, and it's hard to sympathize with them, beacuse they were just thrown to us right now, and that took a big chunk of the enjoyment for me.
MAPPA have really done an incredible job, props to them.

Directing: A-

Fight Animation: S-
Pacing: B+

Execution: A-
Enjoyment: A+

Might actually be a 9, though there has been quite a bit of missed potential.

Damn boy! What an episode! Straight 10/10
So much happened in a single episode that it's crazy!

The first time that Jin got kinda owned but now after what happened idk tbh, is he really the key? Tbh i doubt it but let's see.

And here i thought that Park lost, lmao
It was a great scene tho, he made him open up his eyes.

The whole attack scene was insane! Those drums made this eps 10/10, watching that guy destroying the sword, omg! And the people inside never knew about the battle that happened outside.

Can't wait for the next episode, so hyped up!

The fight in inside and the fight in outside + the music is the HYPE for the show somehow

The National Treasure user in this episode just become my favorite Six Yet

Ilpyo stating Mori weaknesses just so he can overcome those weaknesses and become more stronger, yeah he simply coaching him in this episode

So.. the "Key" is Ilpyo? Why the such cliffhanger must end in the more HYPE situation? Looking forward for the next episode

I love when the anime focuses in martial arts more than superpowers, but whatever. Jegal surely has story with Ilpyo, with that broken leg. So, Jegal could be related with Nox. Yeah, police, I don’t know what the fuck is happening outside the arena, yeah, a giant sword, hahaha, in the middle of the city, I’m ignorant if normal people in the anime know about these things.

Once again the author needs to be raked over the coals for his hideous character designs with absolutely disgusting ears and nose shapes and colored red. The studio also shares blame for not redesigning them to look human instead of monsters and fixing the ears and noses.

That aside the author has some talent but is lacking in the self awareness to realize his mistakes. He can actually write quality characters as seen in nearly every team the main cast fights against, but the main cast ends up being terrible and unlikable. Why is that? Because the main cast has no struggle. They are gifted powers and victories by plot armor and deus ex machina. The audience feels that these characters have no struggle and will not lose.

The side characters meanwhile, are humanized, have well explained goals and dreams, and actually struggle to achieve them. Chief among those struggles is facing the MCs because the author will not let the other characters have a fair chance to win.

There is no possible way given what has been shown so far that the hideous goku kid should be able to beat the cool hoody guy. It's been shown his skill and power levels are exponentially greater, yet the author has goku jr nearly defeat him.

Hoody guy is a far more interesting character that I care about and would much rather win. Alas although it seems hoody guy is being set up for something greater, I just can't imagine the author letting goku jr get upstaged.

As a manhwa reader, Im so both happy and sad for this episode.

Im happy that this ep is fxxking delivered. Everything is on point. The animation, the soundtrack, the directing, the overall epicness feeling

And Im sad at the same time that Mappa can achieve all these with limited resources. Imagine they are allowed to make it 24 episodes, this ep would be this year Kimetsu Yaiba ep. 19 in terms of quality and popularity

This show did worldbuilding and character development so poolry that the viewer doesnt care about much of anything that’s happening. It does look great but that’s pretty much it.
anime-prime said:
This episode was unfortunate. It had all the aspects of being a brilliant episode. The fact that everything has been so rushed really makes the potential epicness of this episode just slightly comedic. Honestly, this felt like a grand finale to a 50 episode series, but the fact that it was just episode 10 and we know pretty much nothing about anything just made the entire outside battle more of a "what?" than a "Wow!".

The animation, the music, the atmosphere, they were all on point. But the way it was told in the narrative is just super baffling. "Who was this?" "What was that?" These aren't questions that one should be asking in an epic battle. It should be "Oh, this guy arrived. Awesome." "Wow, he used that technique. Smart!" In short, that outside battle could have been way better if it followed a more whole story.

The fight between Jin and Park was pretty epic though and the twist at the end makes me want to keep watching, even though I still have no clue what is going on.

Cool Action scenes when both DAE-WI & JIN MO-RI fought with their respective opponents.

One of the members of "The Six" was introduced who fought with the NOX. That was also cool, escpecially with the music played by the monks.
