THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Lol @ that green filler kuma and Sanji's face. But wow, the climax of the episode and Zoro's fight had more effects than I expected. Toei apparently knows what the Zoro fanboys want to see. Looking so forward to the new opening, the current one is ok, but I never really got into it. |

Wano DBZ super sayan version 2 wtf.... They give us nice animation (thankful for that), WHY do they have to go and mess things up with Zoro going kaioken this time? This can't even be considered canon anymore! |

Damn, that was one strong finish to the Zoro fight right there! San-torou style suits him best, after all. Props to the animators for giving us this deli-treat. Luffy, meanwhile, is slowly grasping something but it certainly is taking a while now. I know that's only natural but a little skip near the perfection of that ability shouldn't hurt, I reckon. Sanji's battered state on the other hand xD. He's lost all lingering trust now *face palm*. I wonder who that big rounded-face guy is... Looking forward to the new Op next episode! |

Putting everything aside that last 4 mins was dope. Zoro hype!!! Zoro was bad ass and the fight was short but done really well. Animation was dope but tbh toei kinda needs to upgrade their sound effects, sometimes they don't go very well with the scenes. |

It makes sense to think the aura can be passed as "haki", bc it happens when 2 strong people collide with their weapons, something like an aura comes out of both weapons. so my point is, if an aura can come out of a weapon it would be no surprise if it can come out of someone And the only difference I see from that last scene where zoro cuts Kamazou is the aura (if thats what ur referring to) , and imo that part was pretty cool and its not messed up at all |

In order for us to understand how it works and when used, Oda colored it black - the so called coating. Period. Throughout the whole series, it was never implied that haki takes the form of an "aura", some kind of glowing around one's silhouette. This is just the imagination of the Wano anime staff (and the current director's love for auras - in case you don't know he used to work on DBZ). Do you know what we call something that is present in the anime, and not existent in the manga? -> Filler/Non canon. Sorry friend, but it is not haki. And EVEN if the studio's intention was to give form to haki, then they messed it. Because we've seen in quite a few instances in the Wano arc, characters clad in aura while not even engaging in combat (I mean those usual red, blue and purple auras). As for the last scene, even if it's cool, even if it has nice animation... it's closer to DBZ than OP (that's why I said Kaioken). You may like it, a lot of fans may also like it, it may look cool and nice, but the whole miindset behind the wano adaptation (too bright, auras everywhere, haki visualization not consistent) is messy. That's my opinion. P.S. For example, Stampede also had that kind of art-style, and almost the same staff worked on it - and it was pretty good... No non-existent auras... What exactly gave birth to the need to turn the Wano arc into a flashshow??? |

Haki is not just coating. My main point is that it can be accepted as haki in some way, since something similar was coming out of the weapons, it wouldnt really be a surprise IF oda ever adds the concept of aura in the future, but laughing at people who think thats haki is too far bc its technically understandable tbh. |

My issue is the Kaioken/chakra cloak - call it whatever you want. And also all the occasions when we see characters glowing, even though out of combat (quick reference to what I mean ep. 927, red around Orochi before transforming, blue around Kyoshiro in the end) - it's like the studio tries to make the "spirit"/rage/intentions of a character visualised. This is what I find bad/weird/messy. The intentions of the studio obviously are for the best of their interest (they are not naive, they want a better product = revenue), but I seriously find it wrong when they take up certain liberties which consequently lead to misconceptions. Let me explain what I mean with an example: most of the anime-only fans, after today's episode, think that the black/red aura around Luffy during the LuffyvsKaido was unconscious ryo. Where I'm trying to get is, too many special effects are sure to lead to confusion. p.s. About the "laughing" part, sorry if I was aggressive - it's not my intention to offend anyone |

That's exactly why it can not be considered canon - it's an anime addition. The speedy animated moment (while pretty well done) would be more clean and tons better without a purple "cloak" on Zoro. It is misleading and distracts from the actual attack. A little and only when needed in order to showcase something (as it was in the WCI arc) was cool. Wano has turned into a "weird" imitation of DBZ. |

Omg did zoro die at the end? Did the madlads really kill zoro? It can't be damn that was unexpected. He's not gonna be the greatest swordsman after all? wtf man can't believe it, he died to a random thug. This series just dropped to a 5/10 for me, they killed zoro wtf were they thinking? why did he die, for shock value? damn, it was so bad, heroic and all but what? I wonder how the crew's gonna react when they hear he's dead? Didn't robin love him, what's gonna happen to all their relationship build up? Zoro didn't even beat mihawk yet? shit that's a bad decision by oda. |

It is misleading and distracts from the actual attack. A little and only when needed in order to showcase something (as it was in the WCI arc) was cool. Wano has turned into a "weird" imitation of DBZ. My reference to DBZ is not only for the two occasions when we saw full-bodied-aura "cloaks" (Luffy vs Kaido, and this one right now) but to various cases throughout the Wano arc, when characters outside battle suddenly started glowing red, purple or (in Kyoshiro's case) blue. Without reasoning - that's my issue. No haki display, no powerup moments, just plain glowing. As I mentioned already, I would find it cool if that was shown in critical and significant battles (as was during the WCI) in order to hype us. I also understand perfectly what you said about shounen animes and visuality, but in every such anime there was some kind of reasoning. For example, in Bleach it was spiritual energy (fair enough), in Naruto it was chakra (even commented that way in the anime), in Fairy Tail it was magical energy, etc. In One Piece's case, what exactly is it?? I repeat, if it was to depict haki - even if I didnt like it, I would understand it. But atm, it's just random glowing which was introduced after 900 episodes (a little out of time)... Anyway, I am aware that not everyone has the same tastes. Respected. If you (and a lot of other fans) enjoy it, I'm glad for you. Tbh I just can't get into it no matter how hard I try... My approach concerning the visual effects is that of a minimalist: less = better. My opinion though. |

Luffy still trying to train his haki so he would be able to overcome his opponents without touching them. That green bear definitely looked funny. The haki effects are just awesome. Even if it isn't meant to be visible, it just gives such a nice flavor and shows how much really is behind some of these attacks. I just wonder how long Queen will drag this out, because I don't think Luffy will get tired any time soon. Pretty bad that the people of Orochi found out about the half moon symbol and began to catch rebels. With that the surprise effect of the attack on Orochi and Kaido sadly is gone. I'm sure that's the craziest state Sanjis face ever was omg hahahahaha. I mean after him seeing Nami naked it's no wonder :D Who the hell is this Yasuie guy? He knows Kanjuurou and Shinobu and most likely also Kinemon and the rest. I have somewhat of a feeling that he might play an important role, but I could be wrong. Definitely excited to see what it is about him. The fight between Zoro and Kamazou was amazing. The animation was an absolute eyegasm. Holy Moly. 100% the best Onigiri I've seen so far. Great job Toei. Seems like Komurasaki was as astonished as most people here haha. Imagine Zoro x Komurasaki. I'm in for that :D |

The fight between Zoro and the mysterious scythe-wielding assassin was mesmerizing. Rackless it may be, but purposefully getting pierced through the shoulder by a scythe to lead the way for the enemy's defeat is quite the cunning, yet unexpected plan. I am sure Usopp would have had a few words to say at such a bold act. This is interesting. It seems like this woman is, in fact, Kumorasaki, no doubt about that. So then, did Kyoshiro have a hand in this? I am sure he is a powerful swordsman in his own right. That said, it is highly unlikely he would have missed her vital organs unintentionally, not unless he planned to have her spared. |

As awesome as it is to see Zoro beat that creepy dude with one attack using his santoryu, I'm just a little disappointed that it took him to use three swords when he should've easily beaten him with just one, much more with two. And what's with that Kyoshiro guy? I really think he's a rebel himself and he let Komurasaki go. |

Well, the plan got completely down, now the attack won’t be a surprise, which was a key factor. Shinobu’s words weren’t false, but I trust that Law is a competent man, he can save his crew without messing with the plan, is his decision how to do it. Fuck off big guy, you’re not gonna get through your turn with Zoro. Zoro’s animation when he finally defeated Kamazo was amazing. |
