| There already is several websites that are exactly that and the fact most people don't know about them show how poorly the idea caitches on. Pretty much any platform that is limited to just one thing is not going to do well. Not sure if anyone made am app for it though. A better idea is to expand it into more than just anime but basically any hobby some people get really passionate about and users select what their interests are and within some interests sub categories can also be added and this can be used to help find matches but also should not be entirely automated people should be able to choose to step outside their interests. You have two approaches either all so called "geek culture" interests or make it all hobbies and also include things like athletic activities and arts. |

| My answer is that I wouldn't use any dating app, however I think the idea is good and the app could have gotten its own faithful niche. It wouldn't be as popular as Tinder, but there could be a group of people interested in that kind of method to meet new friends or go on a date. |

OkCupid is known for rampant spam accounts, cancerous ads, and poor navigation UI. If you work towards an open community design but are aware of the introversion of your target demographic then you are actively working against that demographic. I might also make it slightly pinkish and girly, so the population of the app is not a total sausage fest. The average user doesn't care about the color of your app. It's an anime/otaku culture based dating app. With that description alone it will be a sausage fest. You cannot avoid that. If you wanted to appeal to women you would focus on a feature that appeals to women, such as the "ladies first" feature of Bumble. My plan going forward from here, if I determine the market would be profitable, would be to start analyzing how other such apps work, and what I would need to do to make my app successful. I do have enough code written, such that creating the app could be accomplished within 1-2 months. So, would you like to see such an app? If so, what kinda features would you like to see? Give me your opinions in the comments below. This is beating a dead horse by this point but these apps already exist and you'll see that even on a list of the best dating apps for anime fans, Match is still at the top. You're targeting a niche with something as flexible as a dating app and if you want it to be lucrative, as it stands, your scope is too narrow. Other apps already exist to fill the niche, even if they exist as abandonware and have dwindling user bases. What are you planning to do to differently to avoid the same result? The target demographic is too narrow and unbalanced, the interest in such an app from the demographic is little to none, and as a result your financial return would be lackluster. |
