| Well...not the sequel to Rebellion I was hoping for but at least it's something Madoka Magica related. Glad to have something in this series back in my life especially since good "successors" to the mantle have been few and far in between. However, I don't see the Urobutcher involved in the staff so maybe this one won't be as dark? Who knows, excited to see where it goes. |

| Nice first episode. I like the visuals (and the style with the certain details ... the stuff in the train where it was mentioned not to speak ... symbolism) and the music. If it can be in par with the original first series ... we'll only see that in the future once it gets more serious. |

| I hesitated a lot going into this precisely because Madoka is such an important show to me; I know enough about the franchise to have learned that MagiReco is not exactly a stellar game and it would very likely spoil Madoka's legacy for me. It did happen, a bit, immediately after Sis puella magica played, but It turned out quite nice, I think. Shaft are just a cut above...in many respects, and while it will never touch anywhere near the heights the OG did, I can now happily hope for a pleasant(?) and nourishing watch |
| First half was a bit too exposition heavy for my liking, but it surprisingly nailed the atmosphere of the original Madoka Magica. Looking forward to more. |

Magia Record's timeline are headscratching. This one has Homura but glasses mode, also the labyrinth only picks the people Homura familiar with, while the rest of civilians are faceless. To quote by the creator of Fate/Type-Moon series: "I think it's best if you don't think about it too much." |

| Right off the bat they're making some major changes. The new version of the story might work better in the end, but right now it doesn't quite seem to stick the landing. | Shaft has a way of doing things, especially when it comes to Madoka Magica. They'll put little bit of information here and there in scenes which anyone is likely to miss in first watch. That's what I love about Madoka Magica as a franchise; you find something new everytime you re-watch. Anyways, no one is sure how the show is going to turn out. Addition of Kuroe acts as a surprise element, and we'll see what role she plays. |

| I don't care what people say, so far this looks very promising. Not only visually, but the story seems to be interesting, too. I definitely got that Madoka Magica feeling already! Can't wait to see how it continues. |

| On first impressions, this side story of Makoda Magica has gotten off to a very interesting and exciting start. Hard to think that the original Madoka Magica anime aired back 9 years ago to this day or roughly about, but it still looks great now. This new side story's visuals and animation from SHAFT look great so far, the use of the OST from the original series was used brilliantly and the whole premise with Iroha and Kuroe travelling to Kamihama city for the reason of finding out the truth about the dreams that promises to lift the curse of the magical girls is surely intriguing, but I can't help but feel that there's a ulterior motive thrown in there. With that in mind, the words that the blue-haired magical girl that saved Iroha and Kuroe earlier, warning them not to return to the city, will definitely be ignored. The OP, used for the ED for the first episode, was really nice. Good song from TrySail and the half-second frame of the original five from Madoka Magica appearing together has me hyped already. I'm not sure how this story will go, since I never played the mobile game, but I hope it's a good one. =) |

This is actually still my top show of all time, and still loyal to it! i'm definitely NOT gonna let this go under my radar! -SHAFT -Kajiura Yuki (lol at the moment the OST Sis Puella Magica played, my emotions suddenly overwhelmed) - VA top caliber no doubts HanaKana, AmaSora! shame no kalafina... 5/5! sorry EDIT: according to reddit Ozawa, Takumi is doing the OST...they are just reusing the track from the riginal series. |
