if that true then it would be fantastic. It's finally here. there is so many good manhwa out there that deserve anime adaption. damn this a good signal for manhwa creator.

I would like to see if solo leveling could get adaption too rather than tower of god.

I never read the manga even if I stumbeld about from time to time. The Harem tag ontop with a shota mc made it a naaaah. :>

The story itself did sound interresting but nah ty harem is kinda the worst genre ever. xD

It isn't really harem tho, and especially not in a romantic sense or smth. U should give it a try, even tho the first chapters are a slow introduction build-up thing for what's to come later.

It may seem generic from the outside but if u ever read it and get into it u will notice that it's so different from any other webtoon/manga or anything u have encountered so far, it's very bingeworthy and has lots of plot twists and unexpected turns throughout the story, full of betrayal and other thrilling themes that make it so enjoyable.

HO-LEE SHITE

If it's being reported by YonkouProduction, high chance it's legit, god damn I am so hyped! As you can tell by my username, Tower of God is like my shit, but the sad part about this is that if it's being animated by Japanese studio, high chance it's not gonna have a lot of episodes. I really wish that the whole part 1 of Tower of God could be animated and not rushed, that would be so so so so so amazing! My baby Koon, Baam and Rak!!

omg omg omg!

And Noblesse already had anime adaptation before this even though it's just the OVA.. I hope this time they keep in the comedy instead of just showing the action. The comedy is like by far the best part about Noblesse, and the action would only get worse over time. Still hype for it regardless, even though it fell off far halfway through the series.

This is a very very good news for korean manga/webcomic's future, would like to watch more korean anime, there are some really dope korean webcomic out there that's quite unknown.

Even though this webcomic is very popular, it would still be amazing if it gets an anime adaptation.. I am talking about Solo Leveling, that's like another Ho-Lee Shite worthy of an adaptation, and I think the public perception is gonna be amazing given the current trend of isekai / OP protagonist.

It's a great start!

+1 to whatever R3B1N said, there's barely any harem or even romance in the series to be frank, at least not on the level of how the Japanese do it. The series is far more about friendship and adventure, but it's not happy go lucky too. It's definitely a very interesting read, far different from what you've seen in the normal Japanese stuffs. The protagonist is not really a shota either, dude's like the same age as everyone else in his group, well, pretty much.

Ayy I'd highly recommend reading it as well.. Webcomic is just a ton of fun to read because it's colored and the format makes it easier to digest! It helps that Tower of God has an amazing world, story, lore and characters too.

Indeed hahah

Tbh I think it's for the better if the adaptions went smooth and all, cuz this way more people will get recognition for manhwa and other non-japanese works to get animated. So that way we'll get other webtoons like Solo Leveling, God of highschool, Dice and much more in animation form and that will be hype af :DDD

I'm really hoping that these series are successful so we can get more manwha adaptations. I would be so stoked to get adaptations of God of High School (beyond the trailer) or Kubera!

Awesome news! I started reading Noblesse and I do enjoy it. I haven't had much time recently to read it but if it's getting an anime, I better start finishing it fast, at least before the anime broadcasts and I'm watching it.

I know there were two, I guess, specials? that were made for Noblesse but they don't seem to be great, at least the scores weren't the best.

Now I wonder if I should start reading Tower of God too? Offu that's a lot of webtoons...

i wouldn't bank on their animating the whole story of either webtoon. it will probably be S1 of each. especially ToG since it's more complex and involved more than the average webtoon.

I know there were two, I guess, specials? that were made for Noblesse but they don't seem to be great, at least the scores weren't the best.

that's only because the first one was rushed (ep 1-99 in 30mins) and the second was out of context for non readers. they weren't meant to greenlight any adaptation.

yeah I wasn't really expecting them to animate the whole thing, not unless there was a large amount of funds that would allow them to have a long running show, like those typical shounen jump manga.

First Season of the webtoon was good. It had a likeable cast of characters, each with their own quirk and personality, interesting world-building, exciting fights/matches, a nice power-system and quite a few intriguing storylines built in the background. Depending on which studios is gonna take this one, it might turn out a big success and a fan-favorite, and hopefully it'll bring more recognition for TOG and manhwa in general.

i like any fan was a tad disappointed in the first OVA but i understood that it was rushed and not a real adaptation. the second one is pretty good imo. the thing that was really missed on the first OVA was the unanimous fan hatred of jake, and the OVA shoved that in so fast no-one would have had time to understand how much we hated him. also, i would have been fine with the korean names being kept but the names were in japanese (a boy named shinwu was called "tashiro kun").

Although i havent read TOG nor Noblesse, hearing this news makes me quite exited, because an anime adaptation is a crucial step which can lead to broaden the horizon of the anime industry and the webtoon/manhwa as a medium. Think about all of the great titles that has prospered in webtoon for a while now and it being in an animated form.

In addition before all of that happen i can only wish for the TOG and Noblesse anime have a korean dub so we can reconize it more as a korean anime not more as a japanese anime (because right after i watched noblesse ova which in japanese, then read the webtoon, it just feels so wierd)

But now we can only hope for a loyal adaptation or whether that the news was true or not.

there's another source besides yonkou (i didn't believe him either) and it's the only korean article talking about it i could find http://www.bloter.net/archives/348696 what's more, there's more information on what the line webtoon CEO said about keeping ties with the original story and adapting it. i would suggest a read to anyone interested. this is bigger than noblesse and ToG, it could be the future of webtoon animation/aeni.

i do agree on the second to last part. the japanese need to keep the korean names as well. i don't want ToG and noblesse mistaken as japanese work, this is really important for webtoon right now.

in case people are too lazy to go to the link i'll copypaste everything here:

line webtoon CEO's thoughts on the adaptions:
Naver Webtoon's Lee Hee-yun, the head of the business team, said that fantasy genres such as 'Tower of God', 'God of High School' and 'Noblesse' are generally difficult to visualize. Recently, however, he has also attempted to visualize fantasy, science fiction genres, including 'with God'. He also said that he is currently developing a TV animation series for the Tower of God and Noblesse.

Lee Hee-yun said, “If the domestic market is focused on the market and the cost rather than the technology, the input effect is low compared to the domestic market, and it should be targeted to the global market. "You have to consider whether you can do it." “The current trend of visualization is that the popularity of webtoons does not have an absolute impact, but how important the story is for video, how attractive the story structure and characters are, and if there is a story that can be targeted in each country without awareness, "We are trying new things."

Yoo Sang-won, CP of Studio Dragon, Korea's largest drama production company, said that Webtoon is one of the various sources of drama, and the genre that is not special is now gone.

“We are concerned about how much output is expected compared to input, and we think that it is possible to visualize battles and fantasy materials with skill,” said Weblab Production Officer Y-Jeong Oh. I think it's a matter of keeping going. ”

personally it shouldn't be on TV, but i hope that's just a figure of speech. the OVAs were released online so i don't see why these can't be either.

Watch them destroy the series by squishing 400 chapters into 36 episodes or so.

I no longer excited about any long running old series that's not Jump got properly adapted anymore. They just don't have the resources/ money to bother.

i think that if the eps are released online, it has more of a chance to follow the story correctly than through TV. i know the CEO said they were being developed for a TV series but since the adaptations are every early in development i would say not everything is set in stone.

webtoon does have its rare moments of getting adapted into animation, but that doesn't mean it never happens. i watched "welcome to the convenience store" and it was a extremely popular webtoon in korea at the time, and it had 2 seasons (it was pretty funny as well but that's besides the point), so i can't say that it's not within hindsight of ToG actually succeeding in its adaptation.

There's already a Tales of Demons and Gods anime adaptation, it's 3D but hey, it's still pretty good lol.

really? i thought it was terrible lol. i really hope there's a re-adaption but when the hell does that happen....
