| Monster (huge pacing issues, manga flows much, much better, explored themes are alright, but omnipotent and omnipresent Johan and Urasawa's lack of explaining things can get kinda annoying, especially if you're familiar of his other series. Planetes (Completely different in tone and structure to the great manga, many filler episodes/characters, including an exclusive anime arc which is abysmal that might alienate fans of the source material, leaving a bitter aftertaste) |

Baka-Updates and two French sites are far superior—more detailed, complete, and less restrictive. They're perfect for manga, light novel, and book collectors like me, making the process much less stressful and tiring. -g- |
| Sound of the Sky: Initially gives the impression of setting out to do great things with the setting but ultimately doesn't set itself apart from other slice-of-life (from what I've seen at least). Characters are generic, the flow of events have little to do with the setting at all which raises the question if the whole thing is just a pretence to superficially add novelty to the show. Take my opinions with a grain of salt though, as I've watched only 4 episodes of it and am willing to pick it up. |
