Only people like Sakuta could never resent his parents. It looks like they tried too hard to present him like a caring and good father. What they did is inexcusable. They are just cowards who abandonned their minor children when they needed them the most. I don't feel sorry at all for the mother.

Mai's slap wasn't funny and uncalled for. she better apologize later.
Sakuta's friends told him that Mai already well trained him. I hope it wasn't about his sassiness which is starting to fade episodes after episodes.

These last episodes were okay, But I can't wait for Kaede's case!!

She's just pandering to the lowest of viewers, namely the masochists. I find her behavior absolutely unacceptable, and i don't think many would actually accept a gf with such an attitude. Certainly wouldn't last if most tried.

I have to agree... I love this show and am very pro Sakuta + Mai, but I found that slap hard to stomach, along with her grinding her foot into his every chance she gets. The guy basically saved her sister from committing suicide; I think he deserves a lot more than he's getting from her.

The heel thing isn't so bad. I viewed that as just routine comedy, but that slap was too much. That drove in that they're going for a stupid s/m relationship and well, there is nothing as unromantic as that.

Not my thing either, but if that's Mai and Sakuta's thing and they're both OK with it, more power to them. It just seems out of place in a show that's pretty wholesome (other than Sakuta's lewd comments) in every other way. The slap threw me off in the same way (to a lesser degree) than Mai's comment to Sakuta that not punishing him would be a punishment in itself in ep.4.

Relationships shouldn't be a power struggle, but there should be some give and take, and so far, to my recollection, the only times that Sakuta has "taken" were A) in the diner when he got her to apologize for neglecting him and B) when he got her to admit her feelings by kissing him. He's bent over backward for her in every other situation...

Good arc, but not the best of the series.
My question now is: Kaede arc will take the rest of the episode? Volume 6 and 7 are all about makinohara arc and same the movie, from the trailer. The LN will soon end or not? A second season is needed.

Why're you watching anime? You should be playing VNs. Anime has a short amount of time to do what they want to do. When you read VNs you get that kind of romantic catharsis. Go read Majikoi.

Who are you to question why I watch anime? I'm watching anime because I enjoy anime. Simple as. You may enjoy anime in a different way than I or anyone else does, but don't point that out like it's a bad thing just because it doesn't fit your way of doing things. Please keep that in mind next time you try and do something like this again.

I do not honestly expect a date episode, and even if we did it certainly wouldn't be a simple date with no drama involved. I do not enjoy reading VNs because they take way too long to get to the point. I simply wanted to express how I want Sakuta and Mai to have a good time together in this weird version of the world - I may have done that badly but that was my point all the same.

Lol dude you seemed super frustrated that the story wasn't going into the kind of content you wanted.

All I'm saying is that if you want that kind of layback catharsis to the romantic tension the show's built up you should just go read VNs instead. They take their time since they're basically books and have the time to show all of that.

To be honest, episode 10 is probably my no.1 least favorite episode with Nodoka arc but it a least refreshing with great sence since Mai and Nodoka swap body had kinda weird in sometimes and the last episode was getting better. I hope Kaede arc could be getting better.

8.5/10 for me.

Each arc gets progressively worse lmao. And the whole think with switching personalities or bodies thing... Does it fucking matter which one it is? At the end of the day, the take on the other's appearance and thats the end of the story. Considering the preview, the whole finding out about Sakuta and Mai thing wouldn't be that big of a deal considering its gonna be Kaede's arc, but who knows. Again, the writing and narrative in this is just getting more and more generic in each episode. Hopefully shit picks back up in the last 3 episodes.

LOL They transformed into the appearance of each other. I wasn't expecting that. Sakuta's father scene was a bit random.

It seems that Sakuta and Mai's relationship was discovered by the media.

I would've preferred the body switch happen after they slept like in the beginning. Seeing the switch happen instantaneously with a popping sound felt conveniently forced imo. If the scene had to happen right at that moment then instead of the morphing them, why not just change their perspectives and have their points of view change without the forced popping sound.

So that's what's up with Sakuta's parents, I was worried it won't be explained or it'll be something weird. I wasn't dissapointed. And yeah, I was pretty surprised when they showed the switch between them, the most wtf moment of the episode, I rewatched it like 5 times lol.

At last the sisters make up
It is very funny the dynamics in how Sakuta interacts with Nodoka and Mai, despite the change of bodies.
Kaede exceeded the level of how adorable she can be in this episode, she also wants the attention of her brother and wants his approval, so she decides to make an effort and puts on her school uniform and Mai also approves Kaede's new outfit.
Nodoka manages to fulfill her duty and ends the commercial, but she still feels the pressure to be like Mai.
Today we knew a little about the parents of Sakuta and Kaede, it seems that the event that affected Kaede had a greater impact on them, but I find it unreasonable that they have moved away from their children, but at least they give themselves the responsability of continuing in contact.
The Sweet Bullet concert had a great impact on Nodoka, seeing how Mai managed to work with her team idol and become the main girl, made her feel frustrated and sad, this added to the approval of her mother to an achievement that she could not do .
Sakuta shows Nodoka that Mai really cares about her, he shows her Mai box of secrets where she has letters she received from Nodoka, but even so Nodoka is still frustrated by the accomplishments that Mai achieved in Nodoka's body.
The slap was a surprise, when Sakuta received it, i did not stop laughing and Mai's answer to why she did it was even more funny.
Nodoka finally releases all her worries about her mother and Mai tells her to do things her way and the big surprise was that they never changed bodies, they were transformed physically, Nodoka transformed into Mai and Mai into Nodoka, the transformation was something very unexpected and it was amazing as close to this Arc. I love how Futaba explains the events scientifically, in the end both sisters felt envious of each one. Sakuta wins the approval of Nodoka and her thanks for taking care of her, but it seems that the love life of Sakuta and Mai will have to be paused thanks to the paparazzi and the press.
The next Arc will be about the best little sister Kaede, the name of the next episode sounds adorable "Kaede's Quest", Who will be the woman who says that Sakuta is a pig?

The moment they returned back to normal was quite disturbing...specifically the crunching noise and a loud pop, as if bones were cracking.

I'm surprised they blurred out Sakuta's face in the photo...usually, they just release everything wantonly as it makes for more juicier news headlines for celebrity tabloids. Maybe it's just a North American thing.

So glad the whole body swapping thing is over, I was kind of getting fed up with the spoiled younger sister, and again, just when I was ready for Sakuta to finally get it on, the pulled that off on us at the end of the episode, this relationship was doom from the start man, just hope of my man to catch a break sometime soon.
I'm surprised by the fact that the high and consistent quality of this show never even had me question stuff like, what about his family, it was always that involving and it made you forget about the specifics and just invest in the story, and not because they wanted a distraction to make for an excuse not to introduce those apsetcs, they also weren't lazy and explained a lot of them, even if it took time.

Good episode. This arc was by far the weakest for me but still, it was emotive and paid off well.

I agree. Blond Mai was sexy and the Idol Szene was a lot of fun.
But the Problem was very easy and simple too solve and her Sister was a boring person, different from all the other Girls so far.

I realy hope this was just a breader for the final, and I realy think so. I belife the Ending was one of the first things planed in this Show, so im calm about this.

Two Fantheorys you can consider spoiler. The bunnygirlcostume and the Dancingszene in front of the moon are most likly a reference too the Tale of Princess Kaguya. A Lovestory whit a sad end.
Her Job as an Acress is the problem.
But the Tale had also a part about immortality.
I guess Shouko had something too do whit it.

Second. I heavily belife the opening of the 1. Episode isnt a previe of the 3. Episode, its a previe of the final.

Some dull parts some pretty cool parts.

And to echo others, Kaede in her uniform was super cute. I have a strange feeling her syndrome is actually linked to her brother and that he is like not real or died in the past or something like that, which would seem kinda obvious I guess.

One thing I do not get though, how is her (Mai) having a boyfriend a scandal? let alone a shocking scandal, like next they will say she eats food and poops... seriously though, is having a relationship not allowed for some inane reason while an actress there?

I have NEVER understood that weird Japanese obsession with not having actresses/singers date. I mean, does anyone here mind if their favorite female performer has a boyfriend or marries or whatever?
It's because of $$$ if the Jap men know their idols/waifu's are pure and virgins then it fulfils their fantasies - they buy the merch etc. In anime, let's say in SAO, Asuna was actually raped, her merch wouldn't sell anywhere near to likes that it has been, she would be viewed by the Jap men as "used goods."
The irony of that, is by keeping them "pure" you actually sexualize them more.

Also wow, that's some interesting sakuga...

I think that the Kaede Arc (starting next episode) has the potential to be the best Arc of the whole show. I think we have all taken a liking to Kaede over the show's run so far and I think it's done this way to put more emotional weight on her story arc.

I'm assuming that Kaede will learn to become more confident with others and move past her unfortunate past with Mai and Sakuta's help, since we have seen her slowly come out of her shell over the last few episodes. For example:

Wearing her old school uniform this episodes.
Interacting with the various visitors who stay at her home over the course of the show (when she first met Mai she was pretty scared, but by the time Futaba is staying over, she seems perfectly fine).
Wearing other clothes apart from her Panda Pyjamas (I know she wore some sort of Blouse/Dress in a previous episode but I can't remember which).

So yeah I'm pretty excited for this Wednesday to see what's in store for Kaede.

I know quantum mechanics, and it's still pseudoscience.

A) what she is saying is not accurate to quantum mechanics, only maybe the mainstream popular idiot version which is also inaccurate
B) majority of quantum mechanics is ill-founded hypothesis and unscientific speculative mathematical modelling anyway
C) don't insult someone else when you yourself don't know it.

@SNDT
It's not really worth cringing at... the point is that it's Futaba's speculation and hypotheses based on her hobby interests. She's dabbled in the subject so she draws some arbitrary conclusions, which may conveniently seem sensible, but could also be wildly off.

I should stress that you shouldn't consider what characters say in a piece of fiction to be word of god to how things work in it's setting, as any even remotely non-amateur writer will know that when a character speaks it's that char's perspective. In this story, Futaba's wild speculations happen to help Sakuta solve the problems, and he, being a wise boi, consults people for input when unsure about things.

I can't wait to see the next episode. Seems like Mai can have some problems cause of the photo.

That sudden switch made me shock. Still, I was more surprised that they made an issue about Mai and Sakuta just now.

I find myself agreeing with those saying this was the weakest arc. That being said, I love this show so even it’s weakest arc is still good. I find myself completely disinterested in idol culture, so the arc really had to sell me on Nadoka, which I feel it wasn’t able to. She was just too simple, and unlike Koga, there wasn’t a lot of layers to make you appreciate her character.

I think people are being really hard on his parents. Yeah, what they did is shitty and inexcusable, but they are people. His mom had a breakdown and his dad didn’t know what to do. Sakuta seemed to be able to handle it well, so he unfairly left that burden on his son. I think Sakuta is mature enough to realize that, while his parents are not fully capable parents, they do care.

That being said, I’m hype for the next arc. I feel like these last episodes might start pushing Sakuta emotionally. We got a tease of him breaking his cool attitude in the first arc, and I’m hoping we get to see more of it coming up.
