I don't actually. I used to but now I use a picture of a unicorn. Hmmm are there any unicorns in anime?

My FB account is private so to avoid unnecessary shit about it. And yes I do have anime avatar as my profile pic. I don't have Instagram and Twitter so I guess I'm saved. My Google account have Kirino as my profile avatar which is connect to my YT but I don't even post comments in YT.

I've not yet been abused if that's what you mean. I guess it'd be pretty funny if that were to happen since the dude just basically ignore what I had posted and just automatically resort to memes... On that one... 1 panel of hentai will probably shut down that user for all I know.... I have some nadakashi pics, do you need it fam?

If you get into arguments over anime or anime-art-style stuff (e.g. Japanese indie games, visual novels, complaints about anime porn, etc.) on Steam, there will inevitably be anime-/weeb-haters who have a high propensity of bringing up your avatar if you have an anime avatar.

On the other hand there are also a lot of users with anime avatars, so it's not like you're out-on-a-limb socially about it, unless you go and argue badly.

This is why facebook, twitter, and instagram is forever for casual plebs. If you stumble in a place full of casuals and got into an argument, expect your anime profile pic as their number 1 argument. Lol

I'm not sure if the terms "casual" and "pleb" are meaningful in this way outside of the anime fandom...

I don't like facebook or any other social media where I have to be pretentious.

<- is my current avatar on YouTube, Google, Disqus, Discord and of (Obviously) MAL.

Fortunately, have never been called out for it.

I don't use anything like that tbh. I do have an anime pic in Skype if that counts? I mostly use it to talk to MAL friends tho, and 1-2 rl buddies who have known me for over 20 years now.

I have no profile pic on my facebook account and I also don't think I have a profile pic on youtube and that's pretty much all the accounts I have, although I barely even use the facebook one.
I probably regret this post by now.

LMAO i feel you

i've gotten:

"shut up weaboo"

"this isn't a japanese video"

"go watch your hentai"

"I'm sorry, but I can't take you seriously because of your avatar"

but its not just people with anime avatars... its pretty much any avatar people can find a reason to bash

YUP! I do usually put up Makishima Shougo's (God) pic up every single place I can.

Just want others to get a glance of pure f*cken greatness while their at it.

Want them to feel the thunderbolts dripping down their spines by a passport size pic on the internet!

Let them feeeel the goosebumps bursting out like a pointed knife!

I use Uraraka from My Hero Academia on steam.

Someone would call me a weeb or make an insult about anime every few games of CSGO. That's CSGO though and that game has a really bad problem with the player base being toxic.

I've learned to uninstall that game since 90% of the playerbase prefers to insult each other instead of playing.

Short Story:
A friend and me were playing a 2v2 CSGO game a few months ago when some guy got extremely salty at me because I had an anime profile avatar. He kept ranting about how we all need to grow up. He was extremely mad and was getting worked up for some reason. I never once typed back to him but it was mildly entertaining since he was getting so worked up that he gave us a free win.

I use an anime related avatar on a lot of my social medias, like discord, twitter, youtube. And yeah people will call me out for it, calling me a weeb or a fag. Not really my favorite thing in the world being insulted like that so recently i've just been using generic avatars.

tbh some people are just A--holes

"Weeb" hasn't been an actual insult for a few years now, and everyone knows YouTube's comments are a cesspool that isn't far off from places like 4chan these days in its spam and general awfulness. I'd worry less about weebery and more about other types of people using such avatars.

Well, i use a Kobayashi profile pic in my FB account, but apparently many people do so (And no, that wasn't an Anime nor an AnCap group).

My Steam profile pic is a smug chibbi version of Yurikka, but i think it's just that. If you get called a weeb, then you're going at shit places in the first place.

For a little while on FB, I used a drawing of myself I drew as my profile picture because I wasn't always comfortable having my face everywhere. Back then I drew in more of an anime style.
Some dude was like, "So you're a piece of paper?" It was pretty obnoxious.
I didn't even know the guy; I just commented on a friend's thing or something and here comes this guy.

I’m not going to lie. I thought this was a pointless thing to do, since no one wakes up asking “what type of animated fictional character is going to make an educated opinion today?”

I do wonder how many times I see blue-haired or green-haired characters have something to say every time someone asks a question like this. It must be fun.

I use MiA pictures for my YT avatar, channel background, and everything on Google+ as well. I don't really use any other social media site. I have a Twitter, but I rarely ever use it. On there, I have a Rin Tohsaka profile picture.

As for whether I get shit for this stuff or not, it depends really. The factors that I think play into it are: Where I'm posting comments, (like on what channels), or what I said in those comments. If I make a comment on a anime youtuber's video, I'm obviously not going to get called a weeb or weird or whatever else. But if I comment on a non-anime video, then I might get hate. The chances increase if I say something other people don't like.
