They only mention trampling of sensitive lands, but there's also the tons of trash, mostly plastic, they leave behind. They need to show those pictures. Plus, all these illegals take up housing, leading to the destruction of even more habitat to pave it over for new housing.

you know that the wall would destroy ecosystems not protect them right? especially as you would have to interrupt the flow of a RIVER. to build a wall in the area he wants it in.

Global warming is simply one out of many problems caused by environmental deterioration. To only spend time, money, and resources on one out of many is ridiculous especially since we know, man-made or not, global warming will continue anyway and anyhow.

It won't cause as much damage that illegal immigrants have done and still are doing. The irony here is that those suing under the guise of environmental protection are encouraging scores of illegal crossings that have decimated environmentally sensitive areas.

The placement of fences and deterrent infrastructure in previously uncontrolled parts of the border have actually allowed for the rejuvenation of areas that had previously been devastated.

What a complete load of bullshit. The resources it would take to make and pollution from equipment to build alone is damaging. Give up on this stupid waste of money already. Most illegal immigrants don't even come from Mexico they come from India and China! Most illegal immigrants from Mexico don't cross the border illegally, they come in legally and overstay their visas. I am so sick of this.

People trekking through old mountain passes or through the desert cause more damage to the environment than large-scale land development (which as someone pointed out, is the opposite of the truth) that requires building into a river, through mountains and beyond. Gotta love bs users make up some times

Implying Trump ever cared about the environment when he appointed a bunch of braindead retards to essentially run environmental and clean energy operations into the ground- among them Rick-who-can't-pronounce-the word-nuclear-right-nor-probably-find-his-own-asshole-Perry.

I don't believe that at all, big border walls cause pollution via construction besides they wall off habitats.

So basically instead of commissioning money to a department that, I don't know, tries to preserve and clean the environment and having them focus on maintaining the areas. You're trying to argue it would be better to just pave over the area and build a huge wall (also fundamentally changing and damaging other entire areas as mentioned) for a vastly higher cost.

I mean even at the root of this idea, they have to clear the area in order to build it so why don't they just stop at that point and repeat it as necessary. Or hey maybe continue building a much cheaper fence that according to your own post would still have a significant effect.

IKR. i guess i better never walk again since it so DAMAGING to the environment compared to destorying mountains and blocking rivers.

I'm actually interested to know what damage this wall would do to Rio Grande river native species. It's listed as one of the World's most endangered rivers due to agriculture, invasive species, dams, over fishing etc. From list of native fishes of Rio Grande I think mosquitofish wouldn't face any danger, but trouts populations could decline and they're more important for fishers than small live-bearers (but they play an important role by eating insects like their name suggest).

As for the mammals I read the wall would damage American populations of ocelots and arizonan jaguar. Majority of felidae species are already endangered so I ain't buying this bs the article is trying to pull. Maybe it's hard to face the facts the one they voted for the president actually has no idea what he's doing.

I don't know how the Daily Caller comes up this sort of bullshit. A wall would stop animals like wild cats from migrating between countries, and from taking refuge on higher ground during floods. Building a levee wall in the Rio Grande valley would massively increase the damage done by flooding in much the same way we've seen in Houston and New Orleans, which would put habitats at risk--and people in cities along the river (yes, that includes Americans, and not just brown ones!). That's the reason unilaterally building walls along the river isn't allowed under treaties the US has signed with Mexico on the boundary... if Trump really cared about the honor of the US, shouldn't he honor treaties?

And of course, inasmuch as illegal crossings may have been a problem in the past, that's pretty much over now--net migration from Mexico to the US is about zero, and overall illegal crossing rates continue to drop.

Lol you sure about that? You think there's currently a wall.... on a river? The word you are looking for is "bridge."

"The Daily Caller is a politically conservative American news and opinion website based in Washington, D.C. It was founded by Tucker Carlson, a conservative political pundit, and Neil Patel, former adviser to former Vice President Dick Cheney."

Of course they're going to say that in the article. The wall is a part of the current Republican agenda. The funny thing is that conservatives don't give a shit about the environment.

As someone who lives in Texas, I'm sure as hell going to try my damndest to make sure this retarded "wall" idea fails. Not only would be it a waste of federal money, but assuming Trump would dip into the pockets of taxpayers, taxpayer money as well. Whatever source it's derived from, the "wall" would be a massive waste of money, a detriment to the environment, and worsen the relations between the US & Mexico in the long run. Thus, the "wall", is not worth squat. It's not going to curb illegal immigration that much. Not at the cost. Not that I particularly care about illegals that are harmless anyway, as long as they're taking the strides to become citizens, which is why repealing things like DACA for people that arrived here as kids, and their parents who've presumably integrated as US citizens as well- is ridiculous. The criminals are the ones that need to be worried about, as long as the rest are following US law and customs who gives a shit? Illegals take the jobs that most no citizens would want if they were available, at shit wages, for gods sake.
