This episode made me really like Mamika, she wants to stop the fights. But Souta not telling everyone was something that I didn't really like. But I hope he comes clean next episode, or maybe everyone won't trust him and dislike him. I hope the reasoning for it all is good, and I hope the mc could be more likable in the future.

Ufotable Cafe, eh? I wonder if we're gonna get P.A. Bank or something later on.

Loved how things ended up this episode. So Meteora and the rest of them are changing, or rather their passive character settings are being brought out to the front now. I'm liking how Mamika seems to have started to grow a brain and began investigating Altair because she actually suspects what she's doing is wrong and isn't fully accepting of things.

Makagami killing off her creator whilst trying to change her own setting was pretty brutal. I don't get why she's so impulsive here. If she'd just thought things through logically, she and her creator may have come up with a solution to changing her chara settings, but instead she'll continue as is after trying just once.

Glad the other creators weren't idiots and managed to figure out Altair's identity on their own. They're not just dumb sub characters, and I like that about this show.

Oh and the bromance between Rui and Yuuya was funny as heck. Spazzing all over using Rui's mech to fly in the sky. I really hope they animate it.

I wonder if at least some of next weeks episode will be a flash back dedicated to telling the entire story of Altair's creation now that we've finally gotten to Sota saying he had something to do with it.

Seeing Magane in the same room at the end legit gave me anxiety.

Great episode though. Mamika is competing for best girl now.

Great episode until the very end. I really did not like that she sat there and no one really noticed her, especially how they emphasized how much she stood out in her uniform.

Things I really liked

- They addressed why it's only anime/manga characters (a complaint I saw in earlier threads)

- Souta finally admitted to someone he knows who the character is. We just need to hear his reasoning behind hiding it.

- The guys found the character WITHOUT him needing to tell them.

I'll stick with my prediction that the uniform princess is a modified version of Souta's character and written by the girl who committed suicide (hence why the character hates the world). All that's left now is why did she get brought over.

Going of Sota's conversation at the end there, and his little "Altair is my...erm I mean...", I'm going to go ahead and assume that:

Sota and the glasses girl that killed herself co-created this character. I want to assume that Sota had minimal involvement; he doesn't like his own drawing skills, so maybe just a rough outline of what he thought would be a good character design. Maybe some personality traits listed too. Glasses girl (who he seemed to be on super good terms with) rolls with this idea. Perhaps both being anime/game enthusiasts this is something they decided to do just for fun and then post it just to see what happens.

Glasses girl goes ahead and comes up with the name, "assembles" the character, makes the trailer thing, the whole package. They post it on the website, and despite being a popular trending character on the site, they got too focused on the criticism in the comments. Maybe before it was popular it got a lot of hate. Reading all of the hateful comments about it, Sota becomes self-conscious about his drawings which is why he doesn't show them to people now, and glasses girl became a wreck and ended up killing herself. They probably had a bit of a falling out or just stopped communicating with each other after the bad remarks.

Question is whether or not Sota knows about her killing herself. I'm going to assume no. He had to do a shit ton of google searching and digging around on the internet just to remember this character and game. He probably wasn't involved much and might've just read some bad shit online after it got posted. When he remembered her nothing came to mind about her being dead, and there were no articles, and they probably stopped talking the second their idea got hated on. Also her death was more than likely the trigger and root cause for everything so it would make more sense for him to not know, otherwise he could probably put the pieces together right away. Also wondering how this traces back to him, he was a big enough part of Altair's creation for her to recognize him, and he was the only Creator who traveled into a fictional world. Did her death impart some kind of ability on to him that we're unaware of?

Side note: just happened to notice this was 22 episodes. Thank god. I was already prepping myself for it being 13 episodes and trying to think about how the story was gonna go for the last half...turns out we aren't even done a cour yet. Gives these characters much more time to develop, which is good because you can tell they're going out of their way to make them all interesting and unique. None of the characters have really lacked in screen time as of now.

Side side note: Makagami is fucking fantastic. Random acts of brutal murder aside, she's hands down the best character on this show. The second she shows up she has that perfect blend of air-headedness and sarcasm that makes everything she says hilarious. She now needs to have half of every episode dedicated to her just saying whatever comes to mind. Hell even Arajin wouldn't have sat on the sidelines of a fight commentating the entire time and cracking jokes.

Not yet. I bet we'll get that entire episode when it finally reaches the point where Sota point blank says that he created her; not just pussyfooting around his words like this first time.

Seeing as how this is 22 episodes, I want to predict that that particular episode/scene will happen right around the turn at the end of the first cour or beginning of the second. Almost like a mid-point cliffhanger. Ideally to keep things interesting, I would like to see:

- Sota confessing (probably to his group) that he knows her name and that he created her.
- The backstory of her creation.
- Some kind of confrontation between Sota and Altair where she gives some kind of speech that makes him question himself and deal with some conflicts in the second half.

Or who knows? Maybe that'll be next weeks episode and then they just go balls deep crazy with the story.

Damn, I'm really hating Sota right now. It's been 2 episodes since he remembered his character and he's refused to share his info twice :S He knows he is in great danger and people keep dying left and right. Apart from being a creator, his presence in the show is practically unjustified, less and less personality. He better have some really good reasons to stay quiet until now.

DAT black lagoon reference :D

Makagami is freaking broken, they should go into more detail about how her ability works, she could just wish everyone dead (for now I'm gonna stay with "she wants to have fun"). I hope they explain her limits. Bring Suzumiya to fight her!!

Really liking Mamika right now (and she was my least favorite creation)... Though is it me or I felt some death flags? I was getting a bit bored with all the repetitive Alice talk from last episode (her talk with Makagami was pretty good though), never thought Madoka would be THE FIRST to do something clever for once X'D. Can't believe Selesia didn't work with Alice to capture/kill Makagami.

Nice that the creators explained how they didn't have time to keep track of all the anime that gets released. Wouldn't expect any less from Japanese authors. However, the goverment should have at least tried a google reverse image search as soon as they got hold of Altair's pictures in the early episodes... Either that or use face recognition technology like that of Facebook (pretty sure the goverment should have access to it). Or, you know, at least handwave why that wouldn't work, since the show really tries to stay as close as possible as to how the internet works.

Otherwise, pretty decent developments. Katana guy and Shinji expy just chilling was very entertaining... kind of like Kamina and Simon.

*breaths fresh air* Best boy Yuuya is back.

Sota is the Military Princess' creator, right? So, I'm guessing he's being afraid to reveal anything bacause he most likely feels he gonna be blamed for?
Well now, I hope she gets more action and stuff. I'm missing her on the screen. She's badass as heck.

Also, I at least wanted to see Magane interacting with her creator but damn she straight up killed him. She's no fun.

This show really opened up last 2 episodes seem too fully utilize its main strengths . Those would be pretty damn dope action sequences followed by some of most quality backgrounds themes in awhile.

But above all i like that every single character now excluding souta and Altair girl, have clashes with each other on things regardless of their supposed labeled faction, it is really amusing too watch since it is written in a way that i simply cant really label 1 side as completely right and 1 completely wrong and subjects can shift that in seconds but they all have twisted version of quite similiar goals they strive for.

It reminds me of Fate Zero which was just subtle at the begining of series . That schoolgirl is like wackiest of them all just casually walking away from fight and watching from a far with smug on her face last episode just needed popcorns and now stalking mamika and soutas conversation, just epic.

I like general havoc of a plot that involves these crazy group vs our world that made them in first place, feels like world collide, but my main cons is that so far goverment is as useless as in almost any anime when it comes too actually helping the main cause of problems, like how much amateur can you get you are not fighting against bank robbers but reality shifters and giant robots, use big cards from the start fuck investigations fuck rules go all out.

If they dont do it creations themselves are going to do it, it is either the supposed holes in reality will be opened up by creations due too them being free for too long or just general panic will cause our forces too backfire against themselves thus creating same effect.

Sure I'm annoyed by this beta hiding the truth, but he has issues, so it's understandable. His reasons for covering what he knew is actually splattered in this episode and last episode. We just have to wait for his reasons to be articulated clearly next episodes. We just have to deal with that fact.

That will cause needless panic. It's smarter to go all out when widespread panic is already there.
I think the govt did an ok job at it.
Though I would just rather tell the truth than hide that truth. It will be known sooner or later. But since they are confident they can hide that fact, let them do the thing.
And they did a poor job protecting the authors. Just dispatch spies on authors and protection complete. And they should've hired some anime otakus to figure out those unknown anime/game characters to save time. Feel bad for those murdered by the creations running amok.

Those who represent anime have their own personnality imagined by the author.

Yeah Sota not telling the truth earlier is somewhat typical, but it's only been two episodes since he himself found out and besides feeling guilty there's probably a lot more going on with the creation of this character, the whole experience must have been traumatizing for him, the reason why Altair is so messed up is either because Shimizaki was in a bad state mentally and/or Shota was in a bad state mentally when drawing her, which might explain why Altair hates the world.

Considering a lot came back to him at the end of episode five it's even likely he mentally blocked all of those memories otherwise he should have remembered Altair when he saw her in episode 1, maybe he hasn't even remembered all the details yet

They already showed her limits in the last episode, she even complained about them.

Basically she sets up a lie and the victim has to verbally rebuke it in order to trigger her "a lie of a lie is the truth" card; so her limits are that the event has to be something she can describe, the person rebuking her needs to complete their sentence (she got annoyed by Mamika interrupting Alicetelia), and her power can't force someone to complete the action (Alicetelia wasn't compelled to try to stab Makagami again after being interrupted by Celestia).

Her greatest enemy would probably be a foreigner who doesn't understand a word of Japanese.

A bit better than previous episodes. Still too much talking IMO, and the director really has to find a way to cut down on the exposition.
Sota needs to man up and tell his people what his role is in all of this. The longer he keeps quiet the worse it will get.

The truth about Gunpuku no Hime is going to be revealed soon. I guess they will find Souta's name under the image of her at their meeting or something similar. By now, I don't think Souta will tell them anymore.

On the one hand, Souta is really getting more and more annoying. On the other hand, I still believe there's more to his anxiety than just his dislike of his own works. Maybe he himself injected Gunpuku no Hime with hatred upon the suicide of Shimazaki.

Ah, and of course, Mamika is best girl after all...

I mean, Hibiki (Assuming you're referring to Symphogear here.) That entire series is heavily inspired by Nanoha, both in style/genre and even some of it's plot elements, (Although remixed.) I like Symphogear a lot, but I think you could argue it went even further in the, "Magical Girl and Technology." Direction than the original three or so seasons of Nanoha. (Which is why it can be original in it's own right and not feel like a straight rip off.)

I'd also argue, while I don't quite think they nailed it personality wise, (Mamika started out a bit to naive.) Her character arc, highly destructive magical powers, and even the personality she's beginning to grow in to, all mimic to Nanoha pretty closely.

Madoka skipped character development.
Snow White initially went into denial.
Hibiki was obvlious.
Only Nanoha immediately saw the writing on the wall and accepted it, and that seems to be what Mamika has done here.

Also sorry if my original post came off a bit aggressive. I only realize after I posted it, it came off a bit stronger than I intended. Lol.

Good point raised by Yuuya about how the creations are changing and not sticking to their original character descriptions

I also liked the bromance between the mech guy and Yuuya and how he was totally ok with the mech boy idolizing him (they were kinda MIA in the episodes following their intro so I'm glad they came back as we don't have much backstory on them)

Starting to like Mamika more for reaching out to Sota and trying to discover the truth and not blindly following MUP even though he's on the "enemy" side. Though seeing Makagami who was also there listening in on their convo looks like a major death flag for Mamika. Hopefully not though!

My theory is that Sota made the original concept for Altair but he got a lot of hate from it.
Come Setsuna who appreciates his work and asks if she can draw the character but her version is a lot more popular causing him to get angry at her, breaking their friendship and putting Setsuna into a depression state which ended with her suicide.

Great episode! Loved the Black Lagoon cameo! Hopefully Rei Hiroe included Revy in this anime, I know its extremely unlikely, but a guy could dream! I have a feeling that we will be introduced to more characters in the anime, maybe after 10 or 11 episodes. Usually an anime will change it's OP after 10 or 12 episodes, so maybe the new OP will include new characters. Mamika is probably gonna die, and I don't understand why Souta has been keeping the identity of Altair a secret. Hopefully the revelations in the next episode justify his reasons for keeping it to himself.

Let see.... MAYBE Altair is Sota creation whilst the Altair's world is Setsuna creation. That after she died, Altair mentioned something about her abandoned world "Setsuna" of some sort.

All of that with this episode mentioning something about character "purpose" on the real world, it could be that Altair is actually trying to make the real world as her world, with purposely inviting various other character into it enough to be called her dream world. Probably the cause of randomize character style/genre. Who knows.

OR MAYBE she's just a rogue character trying to destroy humanity. OR just trying to find a way to resurrect Setsuna, while also killing Souta.

Likely that Souta merely drew her, while Setsuna created the original art and concept + world. That would explain how she differs between Setsuna, her "master," and Souta.
