| Actually no, fanbases just love to exeggarate the death of le best character, because it´s "oh so sadu". All of these characters were liked before their death. Popularity skyrocketing is nothing more than a reaction to one event in the storyline (similarly to plot twists, finales, whatever). Also, the only death that got to me out of your examples was the Whitebeard one. He´s literally that extreme, that he won´t die, even if he fucking dies. Epic as fuck, motherfucker. |

| Meh, not really. I mean in most cases anime don't even revisit the character after the character dies. So if the character was super likable before their death, it's that time with the character that made them likable not the fact that they died. It's like what @AnimeXHunter said - it's the fanbases that do it because the death was just so saaaaaaaad. |
