| It´s my first on ice sports anime, and the first episode haved a nice base, nice characters are the begining of the plot of superation himself, a japanese young want to be the best on the world in ice skating!!!!! ....9/10 (the my best opening note in series in the last 6 months) |

| Love the opening and ending! Wow, when he was saying "I'm sorry" to his mother...oh man. Maybe it is because the Olympics here in Brazil was not so long ago and we got in touch with a lot of athlete's stories and all, but this kinda crushed me D: HE GOT CHUBBY HAIUEHAIUHE LOL Victor is pretty hot *o* Gimme moar of naked Victor please! In the Victor/Yuri skating scene I was so sure one of them was going to fall badly xD Yay, already love this! I'm happy I decided to watch /o/ |

| Holy mother of ice skating, what a fantastic first episode. Everything was just so gorgeous. Great OP, love the animation style and the song was great. ED was pretty great too, Hatano Wataru is a hit-and-miss with me but this is definitely a hit. Love the Instagram style. Of course, the animation throughout the episode was a treat. Lovely backgrounds, and the skating sequence was just beautiful to behold. The voice cast was great too, Suwabe is a perfect cast for Viktor. This is how you do first episodes. Also, with dat ass, I get why Suwabe said the first episode barely passed censorship laws lol. |

| This is so good and beautiful I fell like crying. Too much beauty for my own two eyes. The music is so godly I feel like in heaven. I'm calling best OP of the season. I'd like to call the show AOTS too but Haikyuu is airing at the same time so it can only be second AOTS;; |
| One of the best first episodes I've seen in awhile. Love the OP & the ED is cute (though I liked the OP more). All the characters seem likable so far. Looking forward to the next episode. |

| Incredible animation, general visuals, choreography and music used throughout the episode (leaving out the opening-and ending songs). One thing I like to mention is that there are absolutely zero homosexual undertones, similar to most all-male modern sports anime. The characters are not romantically involved with one another and show no general romantic interest in one another whatsoever. Whoever keeps mentioning this for every single all-male cast anime must surely think that every man who entertains regular friendships or rivalry with other men must be homosexual. Which would mean... every man in existence, ever. |

There was even a thread made about supposed homosexual spoilers where they blatantly answer that I was wrong when I claimed they were making it up. Fun, pretty, promising. A very good start. I'm sure the final episode will feature an almost perfectly rendered performance. 4/5 The opening is not something new but it goes well to the series. |

| I found the pacing was very uneven, being erratic one scene and normal the next and then switching back to erratic and so on, and the comedy was very distracting. The actual skating portions were magnificent and the relationship between the characters could be interesting if given the time to develop, since as it is now it's just kinda there. Will continue to watch, I hope the pacing evens out and we focus more on the skating moments and the quiet moments than on the comedy. |
| First of all, I still think that Yuri looks a lot like a chubby version of Shinichi from Parasyte BUT I was really prepared for a strong yaoi vibe which I couldn't sense at this point. The figure skating scene was very pretty! Much like in Death Parade :) Good start, interesting characters! Can't wait for the next episode. This might just be the highlight of the season (apart from Natsume) |

| The animation and the OST were very good but the sudden chibi exposition scenes and even the comedic scenes made it a bit hard to enjoy the episode overall. Hope it gets better eventually. |
| Man the amount of bait in this is no joke... It's been years since I saw man nipples(not that I want to), One Piece, Bleach, Fairy Tail, the manga has it the anime don't. Then it comes Yuri on Ice and the nipples too. The ep was more interesting than I thought it would be. Oh and shuby Yuri reminds me of Ippo doofus face. |

Like, there are genuine feeling but no overdone angst that's just there to dramatize things! Also, I'm glad the main female "love interest" is already married off, cause it would have been so cliche if yuuri had a crush on her (ugh)... The part about him being chubby though..... i was not imressed lol. First we see him when he just arrives, and he's def chubby, but when he's skating he's rail thin??!?!?! But then the kids suddenly poke at his belly and call him fat.......... like ?????? please make him properly chubby lol, I know japanese culture is overall a lot more uncomfortable with overweight people etc, but if you use the trope, portray it properly goddammit!!! And at last...... the gay. lol so much gay. If only it was serious, I would fly over to japan and give the script writer a kiss........ Of course it's most likely only fanservice which is sad. I hope there will be a time when all kinds of romance can be a part of media without making it a niche show. sigh! |

| It's early, but it looks like we have our first aots contender. I'm not really into the humor yet, but everything else was spot on: good storytelling, a compelling main character, and a notable lack of irksome melodrama. Excited to see how it'll play out. P.S.: the actual animation of the OP/ED was neat, but am I the only one who found the songs ghastly? :/ |

| The opening is sung really great! And speaking of the opening, the animation is done really nicely as well. A classic almost watercolor style, and yet more fluid and animated than the usual scenes done in watercolor (and doesn't seem to be just a slapped on filter either). Some of the scenes in the OP were repeated which did feel a little repetitive but probably budget constraints somewhere or out of time, to cause this. I love the very very first scene, before the OP. How he is skating around and the transitions and contrast between the light and dark, with his hair and how he moves is very striking. And of course the blushing fanboy. There is some BL vibe but also admiration. Also that iphone 6 he got looks like it's got a dezaegg case on it! Love little references to real life like that~ |

| Okay when the first pv came out i knew it was gonna look good but not this good not only that it was quite lively from the visuals in the OP &ED to the almost trigger like over the top animations ,character designs seem to be over lapping to me MC looks like the guy from parasite victor looks like someone from 7 deadly sins. nice that there are some female characters was like oh nice a love interest then she has 3 kids...so yeah that dream is dead anyways it was a solid start only downside is i have zero interest in ice skating that and the rising BL vibes was keeping me away at first but it all really depends on how far it goes because this seems like one of better shows this season. |

| I had high expectations going into this but they definitely went above and beyond what I originally thought. I'm so impressed I'm actually kinda mad at how GOOD this looks wtf? That animation?? My eyes were on fire the whole time, I wish I could appreciate it all without having to constantly look down at the subtitles. The skating scenes look like rotoscope, which helps nail the timing, but I couldn't help but notice some of Yuri's frames were missing (?) making some of the fluidity appear slower/more choppy when the camera is showing his full body. To even notice it by comparison to other scenes though, my props to the animators. My hand hurts just thinking about how long that must have taken. The modern feel to this is refreshing, too. I have a feeling the ed will make me cry later on; those instagram-inspired stills are so happy lol. ...but this one, this one speaks volumes. So ready to see how the rest of this series plays out. |

| Honestly I started watching it because I heard that this was going to be gay as hell. Going in my expectations weren't that high (I assumed mostly just fanservice) but I genuinely enjoyed the first episode! I'm very excited for episode 2! (Also I greatly appreciate Viktor's butt) |

| Overall, I enjoyed the first episode. It was funny and introduced a few interesting characters. I can also identify with Yuri somehow. Him being a "fangirl" and going all out for your passion, which I like. About the yaoi-innuendo...sadly, I hardly get any. My hopes are up for some rivalry-become-friendship between the two younger guys, but yaoi-wise I strongly assume that's as far as it goes. I'd mostly be watching because I was hoping it might follow the footsteps of free, but not happening yet. Animation looks okay to me (I'm far from an expert, I just judge from my own taste) I dislike the music. Op, end, inbetween, throughout not my taste at all. I'll be waiting for the next episode. I want to see where this is going. |

I have the same size of stomach as with Yuuri! Damn animation was magnificent! 5/5!
