Well this case got interesting.

The revelation of the culprit and how it happened behind the scenes..pretty straightforward on paper. With that, we have most of the case is revealed from both sides' perspective. One more episode to go? I hope they give this show a big climax. That ending of De Killer to testify should be amusing.

So close to Mayoi, but De Killer escaped.

Stalling the trial as long as possible.

Gumshoe with important evidence, but seems to have gotten into an accident.
De Killer testifying.

Final ep next week.

Gumshoe was really cool in this episode. Even with him crashing near the end. Although it was weird that Phoenix didn't seem too worried about it.

Celeste and Adrian are sisters? A bit random but whatever.

Larry's reaction to Mia made me laugh.

Definitely better paced than last episode.

OF ALL THINGS they had to change, they changed the teddy bear!

In the game, it was supposed to be an elaborate puzzle, with its pieces had to be taken off in a definite sequence to open up the entire thing, revealing the suicide note. And yes, Adrian Andrews knew how to open it.

BUT BUT..... it can only be opened with a simple push at the tail!? How is that a big secret anymore!? ANYONE could've opened that thing and find the note if it's that simple.

Goodness... A-1, you do not need to save 3 seconds on the toy, just show Adrian cracking the puzzle is a lot more impactful than this... fallacy.

At least we still have some decent Phoenix and Edgeworth chemistry, and seeing more of Maya on what happened to her.

Just in case some animeonlys actually managed to not realize it, De Killer's walkie-talkie at the end is designed to resemble his face a bit. It's a funny detail.

I feel you I hate most of the changes they did in this adaptation. the only thing I was hopping they wouldn't ruin was this case but seeing as how they've been rushing through most of the cases and removing important scenes, music, characters, evidence, you get my point. I don't think there's any way to save it, unless they decide to go all out on the last episode but even then meh. I still think turnabout bigtop was the only case in the anime I actually preferred over the game.

So, they changed Celeste to be Adrian's sister. I figured as much, they made this adaptation a kids' show after all.

Other than that, this episode was pretty good, especially the back-and-forth between Phoenix and Edgeworth. You really get the sense that they are working together to achieve the same goal. It's nice they understand each other on a subconscious level without needing to talk to each other.

Also, this showed the completion of Edgeworth's transformation from a ruthless prosecutor who will do anything to win to someone who will fight for justice and the truth no matter the cost.

Finally, the judge's reaction when they mentioned De Killer would testify was priceless...also everyone's reaction when they showed the walkie-talkie.

The acknowledged Killer is literally testifying as a witness, pretty hilarious.
They made Celeste Adian's sister for some reason, probably because no one would go that far for a mentor, takes a more personal dimension but still is lacking compared to all the build up in the game.
Didn't like how they made Adrian spill everything outta nowhere, there was a reason she admitted everything. Naruhodo never talked to her again before the final trial. But eh it's not like it's the only thing gone from the case, lots of stuff that helps the case make sense is axed.
Hilarious how they made the Bear Puzzle seem easy dumb.
It's interesting to see Naruhodo being forced to defend le bad defendant.

They pretty much butchered the entire personality of Adrian Andrews, whatever characterization she had in the game is totally nonexistent here.

what's interesting is that, Naruhodo already knows that his client is the mastermind but he can't' do something that would lead his client into the jail lol. thus why he was keep making an arguement with Mitsurugi. tbh, i like that.

it was a pretty good episode or enjoyable episode overall imo.
but still, that ending left me "WTF" it's just ridiculous. are they even trying to be serious here lol

They really destroyed this case in the anime. I don't even know where to start. Maybe Phoenix's no display of emotion at all when he heard the cat and how nonchalantly he says he knows where it is.
Or how the anime seems to treat the audience like they're stupid and believe nobody could figure out you only had to press the teddy bear's tail... instead of going with the original idea, which made a lot more sense, that the bear itself was a puzzle mechanism. THAT was why only Andrew and Corrida were supposed to be the only ones knowing how to open it.
By having Celeste not-Inpax being Andrew's sister they pretty much changed Andrew's character entirely.
No matter how much of a "genius" prosecutor Edgeworth is, he couldn't figure out the entire part regarding De Killer getting the teddy bear on his own. It took WILL POWERS testifying for them to get to that conclusion. The anime turned Edgeworth from a human to a demi-god prosecutor after his return.
There was also Phoenix treating Gumshoe's accident as a joke. Originally he freaks out, after all not only there was the possibility he could have died but the evidence could never make it on time. Here he's like "oh gumshoe you silly goose suffering a car accident!"

The other changes didn't bother me nearly as much. Still, it was enough for me to label this as the worst case in the anime. Ironic since it's one of the best in the games.

It's nice to see them have a tense court session as the defense and prosecution is working hand in hand in a survival game~

Gumshoe got a little too excited with that evidence.

Shelly De Killer in the flesh...as a walky-talky.

Oh boy that ending! Pretty solid development of this case, looking forward to the final episode and the conclusion of this case and sadly enough of this anime!

I do somewhere hope they'll adapt more parts of the franchise!

Sadly for the anime, it is much better in the VN, with alot more of scenes and anthics to it, while here they are just doing a rushed version of it, like a summary, but changing stuff here and there.
Matt Engarde finally showed his real colours, but he was more of a scumbag in the VN, those sprites where really hateful!

And lets not forget about these:

I remember when I played Justice for All with my sister, I had this crazy nutjob theory that Juan Corrida called de Killer on himself, and tried to frame Matt Engarde for it, and that de Killer was actually a joint project between Adrian Andrews and Celeste Inpax.

Yes! Exactly this. I wonder why they have to make Adrian and Celeste sisters and the fact that Wright had barely a reaction when Gumshoe got into a car accident; Maya's life is on the line and it just doesn't sit right with me. The game definitely spoiled me. I'm just so sad how much they butchered it.
