I'm satisfied with the ending, I liked the montage during the credits. Might go finish up the manga sometime now. I enjoyed reading all the theories on Sakamotos' leaving.

You guys do know sakamoto is dying right.
That's why he said he's going to America...also at that school 1st years are not allowed to make speeches, and to top that all off his chances should have been even lower now Sakamoto is going to "America". There's also much more evidence like the song he sang in German was about a litttle boy who's dying, why he's never seen snow I mean come on it snows everywhere in japan at some point in the year. Also why do you think he's trying so hard to make an impression with everyone, NO matter how obsurd it may be. Also in the cover of the manga is sakamoto in a locker with him oddly placed like he's in a coffin.

Well apparently it was a good idea posting that death theory, since eeryone seems to get hit right in the feels reading it. Although I wish for it not to be true, I also want it to be, because that would make this anime even cooler/coolest.

GhostActual17 said:
Yo, I don't believe Sakamoto when he said he was leaving because he was recognized by NASA, there's some juicy mystery about that.

Is there a REAL reason why Sakamoto left?

Read the other comments and the theory comment thread, that's pretty much the most logical explanation according to me =)

After reading the manga's conclusion, I half-heatedly assumed Sakamoto was imitating an alien. But after reading some other theories of him
it starts to make a whole lot more sense.

The space analogies could have been taken to mean that Sakamoto was going to leave this earth, not in a spaceship, but
, as it showed in final manga chapter cover oh him in a locker...otherwise, it'd make little sense why they would make him look like that, or why he was able to give the graduation speech when it's normally reserved for a graduating student...it's because Sakamoto wasn't going to get the chance to finish school and graduate himself. That final graduation speech about facing fate head on and whatnot--was for Sakamoto himself as much as it was for his troubled schoolmate and graduating class. These were all clues given to us to draw to that conclusion.

That theory would explain so much, like the song he sang at Karaoke about a father's son's soul being taken way by the elf king (similar to a evil fairy or grim reaper), his comment about the nurse's office looking at the ceiling suggesting he spends a lot of time there, and even the last scene where he put the pie to his face, possibly to hide his own tears before saying leaving the school gates.

It would also explain Sakamoto's erratic personality and all his actions up until this point; that makes the best of every situation, as if Sakamoto is trying his best to make someone else's day, while living life to the very fullest
Damn... for a gag comedy, this had some deep undertones or nuances.

Definitely one of the best anime and series of the season, even if it is a little sad. No supernatural powers, no crazy action scenes...just some solid comedy and a real hit in the face full of feels. Shit, the creators are cutting onions here.

At first I thought he was an alien or even from some country other than Japan, but now this "death theory" makes much more sense.

i mostly am a supporter of the death or illness theory, it makes sense, but then, i remember the rest of the anime, and i think.... it doesn't have to make sense, the author might as wlel have put those slim hints just to drive us off course, we shouldn't really think about it, and if we really want, we should go past the more obvious hints.

Absurd*

But isn't it too obvious? I mean, it's too obvious for me that I don't think that's the problem at all.

My heart is bleeding for both of them now. I thought I'd watch something light to help but after reading these theories I'm back to square one :( I'm missing them both all ready.

I loved seeing that glimpse of emotion on Sakamoto's face as his classmates wished him farewell. I enjoyed the series too!

Was a bit dry for a comedy series. Some jokes were funny but it got old with Sakomoto being able to do everything pretty fast.

Regarding the ending, it does feel like there is more to his transfer out. I didn't think deeply about it but him dying theory makes sense. That said, it wasn't obvious at all and didn't cross my mind when watching. If that is what the author wanted to get across then it should have been hinted more. I don't recall him even going to a nurses office apart from this last ep where he got injured.

6/10 Overall. Was expecting Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou level of comedy.

Sakamoto was supposed to have 13 episodes, but because the earthquake they only could show 12, so we must wait until October to see the last episode ;)
So if that USA story was a lie, why he is leaving them? We will only know that in October.

In regards to the Sakamoto's death theory, has somebody noticed that in the 10th episode (when he sings Opera in front of the guys gathered for their dates), his performance is about this? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_Erlk%C3%B6nig

Was he speaking about his own future? Yeah, I know it sounds a bit far-fetched, though it might be a hint

It was a really nice ending episode. The farwell speech Sakamoto gave was really amazing, even though he was in the situation he was in. He turned it around nicely even though he was in a dangerous situation, and Acchan as well.

The pie scene was both sad and funny at the same time, and seeing Sakamoto hiding his emotions with the pie at the end was a really bittersweet ending.

I liked the series a lot more than I thought I would. It had some really enlightening moments. I'll truly miss Sakamoto's character.

I really don't get how anyone can find this series boring. Yes, Sakamoto wins every time, but it's not the "if he wins" but the "how he wins". The humor and charm comes from the creative and absurd solutions that he comes up with, all while being supremely poised and elegant. It's gorgeous.

I for one thought that he was a "Mary Poppins" or "GTO" kind of existence, where by he will go to different schools to make a difference in the lives of the various students after he's finished up with that particular school. However, the death theory does indeed make a ton of sense...

'Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto' is an anime I went into expecting to laugh, which I did a lot of. I just didn't expect to be leaving with all these feels and have depression set in after finishing it. Man that took a 180 degree turn at the end. Like wow, Sakamoto is totally dying isn't he? That's the impression I got...

There were so many hints about Sakamoto’s inevitable death, especially this episode when he said he hadn’t had enough time to count all the holes in the ceiling of the Nurse’s office (implying he had been in there a lot) or earlier in the series when he said he hadn’t seen snow before which implied he was either home-bound or in the hospital and not allowed to be in such cold weather (which now is less bizarre that he had to wear a hundred hand warmers under his coat to keep warm during that snowball fight). It also makes sense why he didn’t let people know his full name so his health records wouldn’t be discovered. Not to mention all the metaphors about death, like when Sakamoto said he’d dive into the ocean headfirst in search of a new continent. He told his classmates during his farewell that he was going to America to follow his dream because he wanted them all to not give up on their own and be depressed about his death but by then, a rumor had already spread and everyone knew that what he said wasn’t true. His friends didn’t want him to leave seeing them upset though so they started a pie war to cover their crying faces. When Sakamoto made that face at the end when everyone was shouting their goodbyes to him and he had to hide his own tears with a pie to the face, I lost it. I didn’t expect a comedy to end this tragic but it truly was a 10/10 anime.

I read the manga first only having to stop to find out i caught up. I wanted to wait before I picked it back up. Then I found out the anime was coming out. I decided to watch the series and then go back.

now about the ep...
Before getting to the end of the ep I was excited to go back to the manga (not knowing that it was the end of both). After finishing the anime I realized that the anime was over and searched this form for more answers. After reading the theory that hes dying I read the last chapter and understood the theory.

I haven't read this anywhere else but maybe everyone already knew. It stated that a rumor went through the school but they never said what it was about. The teacher knew about Sakamotos and that would be one way of the rumor to spread because of a slip of a tong. This is just a thought but it seems the blond one knew so who is to say everyone else didn't.

Oh, so this really is the ending episode. Thought there would be a 2nd part or something, since this site did say before that it ends on 13. Glad that's not really the case and now realize that is an extra special episode or some recap.

Anyways, this episode and the way this anime ended was really towards my liking. So sweet, and the way he dealt with Fukase by basically forcing him to graduate was rather funny and crafty indeed. Warmed my heart, this episode did, seeing everyone's faces telling Sakamoto their farewells, especially Yoshinobu's, the adorable guy that one is. <3

I gave this an 8. I really enjoyed this one.

i didn't want a kiss,, but the end goal was that, i hate yaoi manga doujin and everything, but this shit right here it's why i keep sayingthat the issue is not the homo part, i also kinda voted for the photographs girl and wanted something for kubota as well(just not sakamoto), but in the end, we all knew deep down inside that sakamoto wasn't going to be of anyone, and would have left us like this.

This was one heck of a fun watch. I notice a lot of people mark it down for having no character development or that Sakamoto is too OP, but if the show spent time fleshing him out or nerfed him then people would just complain anyway!

Sakamoto exists in this time to be awesome, and that's more than enough for me to get a great laugh out of.

And Sakamoto proceeded to win every Nobel Peace Prize from that day onward. Inscribed on his awards were the words "Cool! Cooler! Coolest!" in memory of his fabulosity.

When Sakamoto walked out of my life, tragic Korean soap opera tunes started echoing in my heart as I choked back the tears and tried to wish him the best from the depths of my soul. I just...I just wanted to be by his side for a little longer...just a little...longer....

Alright straight up, this show is gold. Pure hilarity, Sakamoto's overpowered antics had me flabbergasted and in denial that something this spectacular could exist. From the girls who gave chase to the guys who challenged him, Sakamoto always provided out of the box resolutions to every trial. Even though the comedy was the selling point, there was something much deeper at work here.

Sakamoto was changing lives. He was saving his fellow classmates and the people around him. Megumi worked up the courage to no longer stand at the sidelines. Aina got on good terms with other girls. Yoshinobu learned the value of money and standing up to bullies. Yuuya gained his pride as a man (or is it bumblebee?) and joke-ster. Acchan...*sniff*...he became a true bro and was truly given a second chance courtesy Sakamoto's benevolence and grace.

Sakamoto is truly a savior and a saint, his every moment of existing is a masterpiece.

8/10, tilt your head to the left and you'll see that Sakamoto is infinite. Haven't you heard?
