Wasnt this supposed to be "different" from the generic harem animes..? From the second episode it seems to be still heading in that generic direction -.-

Goodbye!
I feel the exact same. This is crap. I'm going to trrrry and stick around until episode 4 because apparently a bunch of people were praising it (?), but... ugh.
And even looking past the awful ecchi, just the pacing and character interaction seems more like people reading a script than it does actual interaction. Congrats incest girl, you've known your creepy roommate for all of five minutes and you're spilling your brother's life story--yet you didn't want to speak a single hint of it to Stella a half hour ago. And the main guy's stuttering and talking to people is just... it's like he's not even in the scenes. He's just a decoration for all the girls to get catty over, or a decoration for them to rub their anime physics tits all over ._.
Nagi is effeminate, I think. He did tell Shizuku to think of him as her big sister (He could have said big bro but nah) I can't ship them because of that, we have no clue about Nagi's orientation so far, after-all.
Blood-related kiss, huh. She wants to act like a mother, father, bro, sis etc. to Ikki, then why kiss him? Such logic.

Oricon light novel weekly chart 5th - 11th Oct:
23. *4,819 *52,488 Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry Vol.1
Vol 1 has passed 50k sales. I was hoping to see Vol 2 too in the chart that week but Vol 2 should be above 40k now since Vol 2 of a light novel series should be at least 80% of Vol 1. Rakudai Vol 3 should be around 35k or 40k.
It looks like Rakudai LN might be selling better this week so we might see not just Vol 1 but also other volumes in the next weekly chart. Let's see if at least Vol 1 will reach 100k eventually.

Goodbye!
im guessing ur new to anime and has no idea what a fan service episode means
ok
1: My point is that it was WAY too strong here.
2: What idiot makes episode 2 the fanservice episode? The first few episodes is supposed to set up where the series is going overall and what it will be like. If you have to put in a stupid "fanservice episode", do it later, not when people are trying to get a feel for the show.

First of all, there is no saliva in the kiss scene in the source material. Secondly, the entire adaptation excludes Stella's monologues which indicate that she started to develop strong attraction towards Ikki. The reason for her being attracted is handled in way which is acceptable in the source material because of those monologues. Since her monologues have been removed from the episode heading to the last scene she seems like a complete slut. She heads into the bath with a lot of hesitation. She neither rubbed them against his back like she did in this episode nor there was a wardrobe malfunction which was conveniently followed by the slap. In the source material she lose herself against her will to show that she was interested in Ikki, she pushes them against his back and within a split second she realizes what she just did, gets really embarrassed, immediately stands up and rushes out of the bathroom.
So to answer to your question comments:
1: Silverlink
2: Silverlink
Personally, I hated this episode and after comparing it with the source material, I am disgusted.

Finally! an anime of this caliber has taken the stage. Its been awhile since anime has played with the taboos of society. Hopefully, this anime will be as daring and tasteful as yosuga no sora. Yes, show your sister your real blaze.

The fact that your link has "spoilers" in it means im not going to read it...
Just sayin that it is checking all the typical harem/fanservice anime boxes so far when everyone was raving it was different. Doesnt mean its bad or anything.
Ill still continue to watch since its slightly interesting nonetheless..

To which I'll reiterate : TOO FREAKING SOON!
Actually this anime seems to be like a train that picks up different fanbases from train stations EP1, EP2 and EP3 and then brings them to the destination EP4. However then the announcer will say "but wait, there is more! if you liked the beautiful view on train station EP4, then let me take you all the way to train station EP12 and everything in the way instead!"
Doflamingo45 said: That bath scene was suuuuuuper awkward. I'm not one for ecchi series and I was told this would not be so bad. But oh my... :|
That's exactly how I thought-- it didn't say ecchi (I knew it probably had some fanservice because of the first episode) and suddenly that bath scene hit, and I was o_O Woah, man. Just, no. Heck, she hasn't even known him for even one or two days!
Now that I think about it, does Japan even have locks on the bathroom doors? There's always somebody walking in on another person--and they don't even knock either.
trannon1 said: Rakudai Kishi is not supposed to be pure fanservice goddamit, the main character is a fucking cool guy. But this makes him look.... forget it, I'm out.
Another thought I had in mind too. The guy was pretty cool in the first episode, and then he acts like this in the next-- like all the other harem guys out there. Such a turn off...
Come on. There can be one normal main guy in a harem anime, can't there?
I'll probably watch a couple more episodes, to see how it goes, but if it keeps going like this...I'm dropping.
Really like this episode, just inching out Asterisk(I'll be comparing the two all season, I'm sure). I debating with myself if I want to use my limited free time to read the LN, or read it after this season is done. I did that with SAO and Mahouka, and that didn't end well with all the spoilers involved.

The quote I linked to only lists spoilers for the episode we just watched. You probably didn't even click the link at all.
Ah, the season of mediocrity continues. I can see this going downhill, fast. At least i can see some enjoyment coming up in the next few episodes. Can't wait to see some more fight scenes later.
Stella getting her hopes up when she finds out they're not blood-related.
Yosuga no Sora anyone? And yea I get that its not a harem but you gotta admit that kiss was nice.
That bath scene though. Her boobs look like the tips of rocket ships man.
For now it doesn't seem like Stella's the usual annoying red-haired tsundere. Still tsundere but not so annoying IMO.
I mainly see the animes... so don't blame me for not knowing about the Manga/LN
That incest kiss was just unnecessary. And did they really have to add saliva too? Besides from that disturbing scene, I find the rest of the episode decent at least but nothing too impressive so far. Stella is kind of cute although I'm disappointed to see there wasn't anything explaining why she's suddenly attracted to Ikki in a romantic way. It just feels rushed and awkward considering last episode, she was basically oogling over Ikki's body and acting in a typical tsundere way. If there was some monologue inserted, then maybe that would justify Stella's feelings for him. So far, I'm severely disappointed with Silver Link for including these pointless fanservice bits (Stella's boob physics and slap? Wut) and judging from the comments here, none of this was including in the light novel. Next episode I hope is better

Avenger-senpai said: Ah, just when it was starting to look promising they just had to add an over possessive sister with some shitty incest fanservice. No thanks.
I wonder what will be the reaction of people who complained about Shizuku being an over obsessive sister be when they hear Shizuku's speech from Volume 2.
As soon as I heard the ED just a few seconds...i knew it was ALI PROJECT!
Stella is really the perverted one here and she's the one who wants to be a servant and then those massive boobs pressed on Ikki's back...even Ikki is having trouble on how to react on Stella's moves on him!
Shizuku is one aggressive imouto we have! but opposite of Stella's powers which is ice...
5/5.
Aha, the anime itself is okay all around, but fucking hell. Stella, staph, you're killing me.
Her personality type, reactions to situations (the excessive blushing is adorable), body, and just everything is killing me. Hitting some of my fetishes (constantly abusing the word "servant") is just adding to the fire... Agh... q////q
It's hard to judge this anime objectively and fairly when I'm being slammed in the face with a girl I think is fucking adorable and hot. Must... Resist...Blargh...
I hate ecchi animes, but you know what, I liked this episode. Of course we can always do away with the fanservice and the small bikini for the innocent girl, but you know, money...

No, if you don't like the settings and the characters, waiting for ep4 most likely isn't going to save things for you. Unfortunately, Silver Link is already taking several major liberties with the material, and all of them remove things which set the show apart from the rest, and replace them with "standard generics", dropping it into the mainstream. For fans of the original, this is sad, because it's so unnecessary.
I still maintain that is a strategy that will pay dividends when we get to the part we're all waiting for. Whether it will pay off remains to be seen, but no point jumping the gun this early into the game. I'll be one of the first in line with my rusty pitchfork if Silver Link keeps up these shenanigans even after the big reveal.
Mentar said: I do understand why the show tried to end episode 1 where it ended. And yes, it was clear that we'd get more flashback exposition than it would be advisable in ep2. But so many questions which are crystal clear in the original are left unanswered this way. Example:
1) What caused Stella to completely revert her tsun towards Ikki to dere in this degree?
2) Why did Stella really enter Ikki's bath? (It's not the desire to be a good servant)
3) What's the reason for Stella to ask him if he liked Girls' breasts?
1) Because she found out that Ikki was a kindred spirit. Both of them had to overcome significant hardship in her youth: Ikki being shunned by his family, Stella suffering in her efforts to control her fire magic, against the wishes of her family. And both hate to lose - so they overcame adversity.
2) Because Stella felt extremely threatened by Shizuku, who made clear to Stella that she was the one closest to Ikki, who had always loved him and cared for him, while Stella was merely an outsider. Besides, Ikki had proven weak to Shizuku's advances. Therefore, getting closer to him in the bath was Stella's effort to "fight back".
3) Stella noticed that Ikki was susceptible to big breasts, and this was the area where she was clearly superior to Shizuku. So even while she nearly died in embarrassment, she was pushing her advantage.
Unfortunately, without this context, it looked like merely pointless fanservice.
#1 - This was eventually covered in the latter half of the episode, but an acceptable initial answer would be their agreement to try and make their situation work. I mean they did do a fist bump at the very end of EP1 to signify their new working relationship. The dere parts is just Stella already being somewhat interested in Ikki with her mounting him and all. Somewhat flimsy in comparison to the LN, but hey there's only so many minutes they can cram in one episode and the cuts were acceptable enough.
#2 - Yeah the scene where Stella was staring at the bathroom door before the bath scene was really insufficient in this regard. A disappointing cut, but still acceptable in my opinion.
#3 - Now this one will have different connotation from an anime-only viewer point of view. My interpretation of it is Stella asking whether or not Ikki is attracted to her breasts, or in this case her body. This somewhat alters the meaning from the source, but overall it accomplishes the same objective of Stella gauging where Ikki stands so to speak. And let's face it, the episode was already prefaced with Shizuku clearly being a blood-related sibling of Ikki. So still an acceptable change although the slap was indeed an unnecessary addition.
Some of the context from the LN may be missing, but I think SL added just enough to prevent it from being just pointless fanservice. Though they're really going full steam with the misdirection...
[...]
Agreed. When I saw this episode, I could answer these three questions correctly besides I haven't checked other sources(haven't read neither LN nor manga). I think people just have their focus shifted to somewhere else when watching the episode (perhaps in the time left for the episode to end?).
Oh man, they went full incest. Noice ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I also think Stella have been watching too much hentai.
Ikki family sure is terrible. I didn't really understood why they bully him that much. It doesn't make much sense...
Also, it kinda make me laugh that instead of just reforming the system the school use to evaluate the students, the director just cope out and instead organize tournaments. In the end, the ranking is still very discouraging for people with weaker ranks.
«Time is passing so quickly. Right now, I feel like complaining to Einstein. Whether time is slow or fast depends on perception. Relativity theory is so romantic. And so sad.» - Kurisu Makise a.k.a. The Zombie
I thought it would pass at least one episode before it happened the entry of a new character, however it is not so and now the narrative is filled to capacity fanservice, but fortunately there is a change of course and we talk of characters. The opening did not much peace is the ending, thanks to Ali Project. He did not say much of the narrative, except the part where the teacher explained the new rules, I died laughing at that moment.
This went from an action episode to a full fledged ecchi incest harem anime... lol okay. Well fairly okay development, nothing too special. Both OP and ED are unsuited for this anime, but I do like the group that made the ED so that's nice to see them doing another anime ED.
