| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well this is fairly interesting imo at least by the way it started. The world fiction has potential and we have a bit of sci-fi as well with that scooter thing or whatever. The OP song is somewhat catchy and I think it has somewhat of foreshadowing. Sogo seems a bit childish imo or at least he is a lot of energy. The crystal he found is red in color and seems to have special properties. I think Amagi and his friend took a bit of a big risk though...and fell in that ridiculously big hole. I'm going to assume that there's some romance in this series with Sogo and this girl:  I think the episode sets up the rest of the course for the season but still not entirely sure what to expect. Could be a hit or miss show but definitely has my interest so far.  |

| My thoughts about the pilot episode: Okay, the animation was beautiful. And it's plot and story was interesting. The OP and ED songs and it's animations was really good! The story was kinda interesting, I guess I'll keep on watching it. |

| The sound effects in this anime are amazing, gonna mention that one first. A bit of mystery from that first episode, what is up with the girl that came out of the crystal? People try to catch her as well, guess we'll find that out soon enough. Animation and music are pretty good and the backgrounds in some shots were very nice to look at. |
| Excellent start to the series. I love the animation, the sound effects, and the music too. And I already like the main characters. Kaon doesn't act like a tsundere to Sogo which is a good thing. What I'm interested to find out is the identity of Felia. I have a feeling she's gonna be doing some cute innocent things in the upcoming episodes just like the glimpses I caught of her with her cute faces in the ED. Definitely gonna continue watching this series. :) |
| The character interactions are so cute! Anyways, the animation looks superb in HD and it seems our protagonists are going to be on a journey by the looks of the OP. The mecha desgin isn't half bad though it feels special as compared to the average mecha where the MC is actually in the cockpit... Best sound effects by the way. I actually like the characters' personalities and I really want to see more of Roman's interactions with Kaon, I mean it's not often you see that marriage thing in the anime. Him holding the wedding dress in an ill-fitting car made me lol. |

| A pretty interesting start with the military coming in along with the mysterious girl. The use of sound was simply great, along with the entire environment. Even the bland grayish building along with the uncovered pipes. The main cast seems fun, especially how many things don't exactly seem to faze them much. |

| I don't know, I feel this cliche has been done quite too much by now. A mysterious girl coming out of nowhere and suddenly the MC can control a power/mecha. The characters don't seem to be that great so far either. Kaun has some nice sense of fashion tho :L I fear there'll be many SOL eps with the loli for her to know about the world...etc And the serious eps will be the army or whatever trying to kidnap her, rinse and repeat. Hope not. But it's still got potential. Mecha wise, liked Gundam way more today ^^ |

| Welcome to the world of zero fall damage. That bike is too loud, almost like a jet flying through the street. You thought being an original at least the characters would have a little bit more variety in their actions and movement, but this is not the case, you could have add a bit more subtle details to make them feel unique or interesting in their own ways. Right now they are nothing more than generic and it's not because we haven't seen more of them but a wasted opportunity for the maker. And the OP is also generic, characters running in one direction, circling each other, holding hands, generic J-Pop, you name it. Really your fiancée is also on that bike, don't you think it's a bit dangerous to ram that huge car of yours onto that tiny bike? Another commander who doesn't care about the life of his fellow soldier, but I wonder if that's intentional. Very standard and uninspiring. Does it need more polishing? Maybe, but I'm afraid it's already too late. |
| Pretty good first episode. Didn't really get much from the opening narration, but Sogo seems pretty cool, as do his friends. The chase scene was animated nicely...well in my amateur eyes at least. And so begins the mystery of the girl in the crystal who can apparently summon fighting robots... |
| Pretty interesting and will definitely keep watching this. Like someone else said the sound effects are pretty good and the characters are likeable. Glad I gave this a chance. |
| So for the most part nothing happens and then super advanced mech jumps out. And some loli, crystals and the most fucking cliche and cringe worthy excuse for blushing and padding... As said before, people working on it are bad news but it's hard to tell how it will go after the first episode. Well, most probably something along the lines of guy piloting that mech, some organization trying to get the crystal girl and other standard crap like that. It's still more than you get from most Fall titles where first minutes are enough to see it's garbage. Right, and fuck physics. Falling from that distance didn't even make their clothes dirty... |

| It's a bit overloaded with colors, different settings and premises, it doesn't mix that well. I mean there's a bit of steampunk, cyberpunk, mecha, fantasy and some colorful looking towns, ehhhh. But has potential. |

| Copied from another board: wow, I'm positively surprised by this. Really good episode and for a first episode it was, hands down, amazing. Managed to introduce us to a decent amount of characters, the villains and the setting while also managed to create an interesting starting point for the story. This accompanied by good action with nice visuals and astounding sound direction. To be honest, out of all things the sound direction was the most noticeble thing for me. Great soundtrack and the use of it+environmental sounds and their volume was just near perfect in every situation and added so much. There is only one really bad thing I can say about this episode: Why to the hell did they think they needed to throw in a "girl falls into the boy's arms"-scene followed up by an awkward situation due to embarresment of both characters? So unnecessesary, it added nothing. NOTHING. So why? I could rage at so much stupidity, waaah. Anyways, I'm really looking forward to more. If it can hold up to the first episode then this is going to be great. |

| Feel like I've been waiting for this forever, and it was everything I hoped, with the added bonus of it being an anime that knows to dwell on key moments and not just blast from set piece to set piece like a schizophrenic monkey. When a studio mulls for 7+ years on their first anime original it's either going to be a classic or a total trainwreck, judging from the first episode it's unlikely to be the latter. | Quite a good begining, and that was a bit unexpected, i din't know it was going to be a mecha anime, it was kind of tipical for the genre it is, well executed at least. What amazed me more is the animation, especially the CGI... is that CGI indeed? i could not even distinguish and that is really good, also, loved the opening and ending. I liked the prologue, and that marriage-chase escene was funny, it seems promising till now, soo i will keep on this. |

| Damn, that was a whole lot more interesting than I was expecting it to be. I'm not 100% clear on the status of that mystery girl (it seems she can become a rock, a bird, a girl and a robot if my eyes weren't deceiving me). I don't especially like Sogo yet, but that's my only real complaint so far. Could this be this season's surprise anime? It certainly seems like it so far. Really liking the OP and ED as well. Does anyone know what the ED is called? |
Very enjoyable first ep. Stunning visuals and OST. OP was great as well as the character designs.  I wonder who's our mystery girl. Looking forward to next week.  |

Indeed, 8bit are probably right now one of the best studios for CGI+2D composites, (IMO right behind KyoAni) they had some really good (and some less good) uses of it in Grisaia no Rakuen. The CGI was much more noticeable in Grisaia no Kajitsu, so it's something they've improved a lot on in just this past year. Many studios use outside contractors for CGI, and I'm not sure if 8bit do or not, but the way they integrate it into the 2D is all their credit. They have a 'mechanical design' staff position on this show as well. Which is noticeable, a lot of the minor technical details on the mechs were visible and not hidden like they tend to be in mecha. |

| Definitely seems like the hidden gem of the season if the first episode is the standard it should be a fairly good series. They just need to give us a a reason to care a little more, they haven't revealed the conflict yet. |

| Man that armor at the end was BEYOND EPIC I really hope that the Drama in this show isn't too heavy I mean the bike girl Kaon will clearly like our MC and he will fall for the loli. So let's wait and see how that place's out Wasn't a fan of the ED but whatever.. Will stick with it for sure..and it was quite stunning to look at.. |

| in 8bit we trust despite of mecha anime (I don't really into mecha), I'm actually enjoying this.. the animation is great, and that OST when they found the red crystal.. BRUUUH, majestic.. I'm surprised, hope it'll get better and better |
| I had doubts due to the inclusion of mechas, but that's actually some of the best mecha CGI I've seen in a while; it actually fits in with the environment. OST is quite fitting too. Probably will continue watching to see how a an original work produced by a studio that literally spews out light novel adaptations every season will turn out. All in all, an ok start with good visuals and sound. |

| I'm still not entirely sure how they are going to justify them falling through the cavern and surviving...as it seems kind of dumb. No offense. LOL first they showed them hurting just from falling from a certain tier of height, both in the first cavern and when he gets flinged upwards. But then they're okay after falling into that gigantic thing? I just dont know...lol I would take it if they perhaps fell in the water, but damnit the guy basically says "Oh wait, theres water???" there went that idea... Still otherwise, it was a great start. One of the better starts, imo. Strong visuals, cute character interactions (yes, I enjoyed the part where she jumped into him and then jumped out, i thought it was cute and didn't seem very forced at all. Perhaps because it felt like romantic tension rather then sexual...) and for the most part aside from that random ass fall, it was believable. Heck the leader was drunk, so it'd even make sense to ignore the soldier's worry. I'm excited, and I enjoy both the ED and OP. Also I couldn't even tell that was CGI at first. Hot damn that's good, it mixes so well with the background... |

In the trailer/ music video, Felia was shown to be able to fly, and she's inert in that gem in Sogo's pocket when they fall down into the pit. And even when she was unconcious she did call her guardian somehow, so it's not unlikely that the gem would protect itself from the falling too. But I agree that they need to mention it somehow and not just gloss over it... Maybe once Felia gains conciousness there will be an explanation. |

| I have high hopes for this series and the first episode delivered. Bravo 8bit, hope they can maintain this quality throughout. The art is beautiful and the animation is pretty good too. Nice meaty sound FX and it seems allot of thought has gone into the look of the show. Characters seem interesting and likeable from the outset.This really has the potential to be a fantastic show, fingers crossed. It could take 8bit to the next level of studios. |
