LOVED THIS MOVIE. Been waiting a long time for it. I really liked how they made an effort to speak english. Also an incredible cast of seiyuus, from Kamiya Hiroshi and I believe Ootsuka Akio. The visuals and everything was stunning, which is to be expected from Production I.G ... Back on the movie, I LOVED GINOZA'S DESIGN. I couldn't recognize him at first. Kougami was a BEAST, I was really happy he was back. A lot of brutal kills, and Sybil system got away with it again .. I really hope there is another movie, in which they destroy Sybil off, because we all see it's not doing what it has to do, and it is trying to expand its dominion. I was surprised though that they listened to Akane. |

Why are southeastern Asians speaking Engrish?? Mika being a bitch as usual. The story was very different for PsychoPass, until Sibyl revealed its true intention of gaining control over SEAUn. I.G didnt do as good as Tatsunoko did with the visuals in S2. 7/10 it was okay, but not on par with PP s1 and s2. |

Psycho-Pass isn't Psycho-Pass without Kougami. Much better than season 2 (I like to pretend it never happened). 8/10. |

Imagine season 2 isn't cannon and it all works out (that's what I did). Anyway just watched the film and wow it was good. The story wasn't great but it was interesting and expanded the world in a meaningful way. Overall very nice visual direction apart from a bit at the end where it seemed like kogami and black guy teleported. The fight animation and animation in general was amazing but I wished I hadn't watched it in streaming quality (going buy the blu ray as soon it comes out in the west). Music was nice with signature theme of psycho pass remixed in cool ways. OP was meh and obviously they couldn't get egoist to make another ending song but I love the song so it's okay. The only problem with this film is the Engrish. Honestly I can foresee it being more enjoyable with the dub. It was brutal too, upper end of 15 (probably going to be an 18 over here in the UK). Ginoza got a little bit of development but not as much I would have hoped but kogami and akane got a lot which is nice. |

It was... okay. Can't help but feel that it keeps too much to the status quo. Sybil is as powerful as ever, Mika is still a complete cunt despite everything in season 2, Kougami is still a complete jobber etc. |

The Engrish is honestly some of the best non-American/Australian/European English voice implementation I've heard, despite the overuse of it. It's too bad that in the end, none of the stuff that happened in the movie really affected the main plot in S1 and S2 about whether the Sybil System is good or bad; it just feels like a side story (like most other movie sequels). And with the scene after the credits, it's hard to tell if they will even have Kougami in a S3 if they make one. Well, it's great to see him and his CQC fighting scenes again though. |

I honestly have no idea why he let his cigarette fall out of his mouth? He said earlier "it means we might not need guns anymore" and maybe seeing that kid using a gun like that made him realize how naive he was being when he said that, thus the surprise which led to dropping the cig out of his mouth? If anyone was wondering: The terrorist who faced Akane down with bombs strapped to himself dropped a book after Akane paralyzed him |

Waiit... The in the end basically nothing changed in that country right? Akane gave this whole big speech about the people and how they need to have an election, yet, if anyone caught the bonus at the ending, the election poll was in favour of the same dude... So was the whole movie was just some cool action to get the fans excited? |

Great movie, very enjoyable too. It was nice to see the world beyond japan and how it is without sybil. the action scenes were very good too. akane and kougami's meeting was neat. and the bonus scene of makishima too!! the ost was great as usual. the english was a hit and miss but it was okay? didn't distract me tbh. So a "subbed" version is finally out. And its complete aids. Watching it now, just got through the intro. Seeing how fucking painful it was when they couldn't even subtitle Engrish in the intro, I'm bracing myself for a long painful ride. Hopefully it wont take away from the movie too much. EDIT: Ok finished it. Overall impression? Pretty damn good. Some things were a little ehh, some things were great. Pros: - Great art. Of course they went extreme budget for the movie. Everything looked superb. On top of that, the gore was fucking spectacular. Sure, dudes getting blown up by dominators already looks good in the TV version, but they went fucking all out in the movie. Graphically showing like brain matter and intestines like never before. Shit tons of dudes getting vividly mown down by chain guns too. - Great OST. Should be expected. Not much to elaborate on. - Great story. Glad they did something that was kind of typical, but at the same time presented the world of psycho pass in a way that has been previously completely untouched. Overthrowing a dictator isn't a new theme, but that theme inside the world of Psycho Pass, and interweaving it within the entire Sybil System and PP universe presented a really interesting take on the story. - Excellent fight choreography. Everything looked fluid and badass. The fight between Akane/Kogami, Kogami/Mercs etc. Fantastic - Interesting ending? I don't know whether it's a pro specifically, but the ending was ambiguous enough that it could lead to a third season or another movie later on. It was conclusive, but the dialogue paved the way to add on eventually. Cons: - Sound - The ost was good, but the sound itself seemed a bit wonky. Idk if I got my hands on a wonky torrent, or if this is the best version out, but when watching it was like sound effects like explosions and choppers and shit were all super fucking loud, but then when it cut to dialogue it was like trying to hear mice talk. - Mika - Yep, she's still in it, and yep, she's still a cunt. If anything her cunt factor got upped tenfold in this movie. Talking back and being a fucking ratchet bitch and nobody even retorted her. Bitch needs Tougane to come back and show her what's up. - Sybil - Yep it didn't get damaged or destroyed, yep it's still trying to rule the world, yep Akane is still defending it. - Engrish - Now, I can tolerate Engrish in small bits. Sometimes it's tolerable in appropriate doses, and sometimes the conditions of the show call for it. That was not the case in this show. First of all, there was so much fucking Engrish in this show, that I think it actually occurred more than full Japanese dialogue. Dead serious. The other problem was with how unnecessary it was. They made it very clear that SEAUn was an Asian territory. So according to Psycho Pass, every Asian outside of Japan speaks English? And I also believe that SEAUn was supposed to be a fictional representation of Cambodia or something...again, not a place that takes English as it's first language. Like seriously I.G. any other language would've been fine...I just don't get it. The subs that still managed to get half the dialogue wrong seriously didn't help. - Makishima - they mentioned him multiple times in the movie. In reality he had zero reason to be in the movie, since there is nothing that has anything to do with him. Yet they felt the need to keep bringing him up and connecting him to Kogami just for the sake of doing so basically. - NO SHION X YAYOI MOMENT - No I'm not kidding. I shipped them, that was a hot as hell couple. Plus we got a scene in season 1 and 2, very disappointed you didn't continue the streak I.G...very disappointed. - Hardly any Yayoi in general - She STILL somehow managed to be a useless character. I don't get it. She seems so fucking cool, yet gets no screen time. On the plus side, her single moment using the dominator disintegrator mode was badass. One other good thing is that it slightly made season 2 canon. First of all, people that thought this took place between season 1 and 2 are fucking retarded. How the fact that Ginoza had a ponytail didn't immediately shut that theory down is beyond me. On top of that, there was a 1 year time skip after Makishima was killed and Kogami ran. That's when the timeskip happens. In the movie Sybil mentions that Kogami had been missing for 3 years. That means at the end of PPS1, Kogami had been gone for a year. Obviously in those 2 remaining years the Bureau didn't sit with their thumbs in their asses the whole time. So the events with Tougane and Kamui took place during those 2 years. On the flip side of that, there are hints of it being non-canon. At the very end of season 1, I don't recall Tougane being introduced. Mika was though. There were also no mentions of Mika's mind break, or the upgraded Sybil System after the Kamui incident. When comparing the two though, the evidence clearly points more towards being canon. With 2 years maximum to let the Kamui incident pass, there wouldn't really have been a need to mention any of the events in movie anyway. |

Finally, after being disappointed through the entirety of season 2 of waiting for Kogami to come back, we get our hero back in this movie. I'm happy. Happy with what they did with Kogami's relationship with Akane (and even Ginoza too, he got even more good-looking with that ponytail). That Ginoza and Kogami tag-team fight was brilliant. Hell, all the fist-fight action scenes were. Those were the real highlights of the show. Ginoza may have said "don't show yourself to us ever again" There were still lot's of clues for a possible continuation with an open-ending: With Sybil still at large, the child taking arms after narration of the brain-android chairman seemingly winning the election race, Akane's comment of Sybil being tested one day, and finally Sybil continuing to evolve. Those Kogami x Akane moments are what really get me fired up: protecting her from a bomb blast with his body, nonchalantly pulling her around during a battle even though seconds earlier she had a real gun aimed at him, and finally sleeping at his pad (albeit with no suggestion for anything more, if you know what I mean). Mika is still a shit. The only complaint I can think of is the Engrish, but that was to be expected. It would be flipping amazing of they make a 3rd option in the BD/DVDs for Japanese audio with English dub replacing only the Engrish parts...get best of both worlds. Unfortunately, that seems very unlikely. It will either be all English dub, or Japanese with Engrish dressing. |

I was disappointed, the story was so predicable and not that interesting to me and even if there were very cool animation, there were some strange stuff as well like a cigarette burning at the speed of light (well not that fast)...Anyway, I got to see Kougami and a bit of bromance with Ginoza. :D Things that get me on the nerves: they have big weapons with real bullets and experience, but are not able to shot someone at a relatively short distance. Kougami is fighting everyday but still lost to Akane who has the shape of a 12 years old. |

Aw yeah, gotta love the Engrish especially when it comes to the point where you need to read the subtitles because you can't understand shit xD Great to see Kougami again, the lack of him in season 2 was saddening. Cool movie overall, don't really have much to say otherwise though. |

The thing is, I kinda like Mika's personality. I'm going to use the word 'cunt' and I don't intend it to be sexist, but Mika is a cunt. And that's good because we do need a cunt inspector as she does bring results. She's also a nice contrast to how Akane deals with the situation and if season 3 of Psycho Pass does get made, I do want Akane and Mika to clash over their style of investigation. But I want it done in a way that both methods are valid. It's like the whole 'Good Cop vs. Bad Cop' and both are needed. The problem being with Season 2 was that Mika kept getting foiled by the plot and made into an unlikable person with no usefulness. Or worse, she becomes the audience's punchline whenever she gets put in mortal danger because the plot tells her what she's doing is wrong. What I didn't like about Season 2 was that the entire anime was as if Akane has a dick, it would constantly be shafted. Season 1 attempted to balance the ideals between Akane and Kogami's sense of justice, but I forgot what season 2 tries to accomplish. Terrium said: It's too bad that in the end, none of the stuff that happened in the movie really affected the main plot in S1 and S2 about whether the Sybil System is good or bad; it just feels like a side story (like most other movie sequels). And with the scene after the credits, it's hard to tell if they will even have Kougami in a S3 if they make one. Well, it's great to see him and his CQC fighting scenes again though. Thing is, it is left up to the audience to decide whether the system is good or bad. I think the anime should handle the concept of the Sybil System much better, though the tidbit between Mika and her friend about finding her partner was one of the positive aspects of the sybil system. Honestly, if they make another sequel, it has to do something interesting with the Sybil System. It would be disappointing if Season 3 concludes with "...and the Sybil System is dismantled, therefore people are free and learn the true value of choice, blah blah blah" and it seems like Akane wants the system to evolve. I don't think the Sybil System is good or bad. It certainly has its cons, but it also has its benefits and I think it's best to explore in an upcoming season about either a new challenge or a conspiracy affecting the system again rather than calling out it being antagonistic and ending it there. tl;dr: The Sybil System is not perfect, but I feel it is necessary to Japan for now until a better solution comes by. Maybe season 3 should focus on a new breakthrough that force a transition from the Sybil System into something more? |

So excited to finally watch it- the movie I've waited so long for. I enjoyed every part. The action was great and so was the plot. I really liked the last battle scenes also. Cool OP and the ED Namae no nai Kaibutsu was so nostalgic to hear. I like how Psycho Pass keeps ling tosite sigure and egoist as well as the old ost. Kougami <3 I missed you so much and glad to see you in action. |

I've been waiting for this movie quite a while now but I must say that I quite liked it! What really bothered me and which I wished was just a one time thing at the start was the rather awful Engrish... Together with the too much use of CGI for the environment mixed with anime like CGI and actual drawings which made a rather ugly mess in some scenes. Aside that I did liked the overall story of this movie and the end was intense as ever that we can expect from this franchise! The franchise can still proceed with another season or so but this movie was already a nice addition for the two seasons so all in all a great closure to this franchise! |

ANNOYING STUFF: - Awful Engrish doesn't usually bother me, but when it's in Psycho Pass I expect voice acting to at least hire decent actors who can do the job. Seriously distracting and painful to listen to. - Akane is strangely slower than usual when it comes to putting her thinking cap on. The only useful thing she did was TALK NO JITSU on Sybil. Pretty disappointing for one of my favorite female characters of all time in fiction. - Kogami seems like a lame shadow of his former self, not necessarily in terms of combat prowess but purpose and intent in life. He's lost his spark. All that stuff about being similar to Makishima is complete bull. He's nowhere near as enigmatic or charming. - Doesn't explore in detail the societal effects of Sybil's presence in the region GOOD STUFF: - Nice backgrounds - Some neat combat scenes - We get more world building. Sybil makes another step towards evolution and is spreading its influence - Ginoza is now competent at his job (lol) and seems to be at peace with himself - Mika upstaged Akane with actual sense and has a more stable personality. She's not as bratty as in Season 2 and I'm starting to like her merciless attitude. |

Decent movie, would have been better without the absolutely god awful English throughout. Decent voice acting has never been Japan's strong suit with women doing horrible cutesy voices for girls that sound nothing like a girl, women doing silly voices for boys that sound nothing like a boy and people that can't speak any English doing characters who are supposed to be fluent. Oh well. Glad to see more Psycho-Pass. Kinda like Dragonball I guess. Don't watch the original unless you can somehow not vomit from Goku sounding like an 80 year old 5 foot tall woman who can't voice act to save her life, wait for the dub. |

It felt like this movie tried to tackle a political issue that goes way beyond it, ending up with another "Sybil System no keikaku doori" that was unconvincingly resolved with a Talk no Jutsu from Akane. Basically, nothing introduced in this movie (i.e. what Kougami was trying to do with his new comrades) felt necessary in the end. Well, like always, I enjoyed how badass Akane can be and welcomed the return of Kougami. Otherwise, disappointed by how it introduced a plethora of bad new characters (especially those shitty mercenaries) instead of exploring old faces like it could have. Meh. 7/10 |

I'm so disappointed with the movie, probably it's because I was expecting some closure to some things from the anime, kinda like the FMA movie of the first series... Plot is horrible, not in the cliché way (it was very obvious what was gonna happen) but given the first season, it could do much better. Akane is another thing, she was smart and had her resolve by the end of season 1, and she had her opinion about Sybil System during season 2, but in the movie they just make her doubt everything just so in the end she makes the same decision she did in season 1, stay with sybil but not respect what they do. Akane is smarter than that, so I didn't like the whole doubt thing (yes you can say that she was having doubts since a new country looked well because of SS, but god, the moment those guys shot the woman when she arrived was obvious that something was wrong). Soundtrack was average but animation and art was superb, I wish all the anime had that quality. Finally, Kougami, good to see him, he's great has always, and those fight scenes *drools*. There are some other stuff that I didn't like but those aren't that important. Oh right, that engrish... In the end I think that the plot of season 2 was better, at least it had an objective. |

Damn, I didn't realize just how much I missed Kogami, Akane and the gang till I saw them. Especially Kogami. Loved his reunion with Akane. That punch. It was obvious Ginoza was gonna let him go lol. And I'm glad he did. The ending seemed to foreshadow a Season 3 or a sequel movie. I hope we get one, and written by Urobuchi this time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. |

There are some other stuff that I didn't like but those aren't that important. Oh right, that engrish... In the end I think that the plot of season 2 was better, at least it had an objective. Finally, someone that saw past the fluff. This movie was such a huge let-down. I'm not hating on the movie for being (kind of) enjoyable for a lot of people, but this was far from a good movie. This is the Psycho-Pass universe, a decent plot is pretty significant. If I wanted cool fights with no respect to decent story-telling and characters, I'd rewatch SAO. |

THIS IS GOOD ART for you people? Art sucked even more than in TV series, it looks awfully bad. Only characters looked nice. |

@up, almost everything. Only characters were well made, but that 3D vehicles, planes, and full scenes were awful as hell. It looked like it was made by students which are learning about blender. Worst looking Anime in past 15 years for me (even Higurashi looked better) . I complained about Prison School art last week, and sorry for that. After seeing Psycho-pass movie, I must say that Prison School is animated great (even for 3Dish looking) comparing to Psycho-pass movie. Some low budget shows from early 2000 looked much better than this 3d shit. PS I'm not trolling, it really looks awful. 3D animation is awful in general and much cheaper than standart 2D. |

Why am i the only who absolutely loves both seasons and the movie?? I agree the second season isn't better than the first one, but it's still so amazing, i mean we obviously can't have another makishima shougo with another name and look O_o it'd be far much worse.. It was quite a unique enjoyable plot if you ask me! About the movie Za engrish was somesing a leetle bit Anoying, but zat does not change Psycho-Pass is a compurete masterpiece. The animation was just wow, here's what most of the movies shine really, very good! I absolutely loved how Shougo appeared again, i needed more of him <3 it was awesome. Nice to see Akane training and being stronger, more of Shion was appreciated too. And i can't help but to even hate Shimotsuke more! like what an obnoxious beeeach :@ |

I don't understand people that complain about about "nothing changing" and being disappointed by it. It was similar for the first season, so I don't see how you can be fine with the way things went in the first season and not in this one. It is clear that the movie intended to say that a lot of people actually want the sybil system. Like Akane's friend, the fact that there are wars everywhere outside of japan (more context on this would've been good) and the voting at the end. This was exactly Akane's point at the end of season 1, sybil may be flawed but a lot of people needs it. And this movie fits with that. The movie was better than expected, it wasn't a masterpiece but it was a nice continuation that makes sense for the most part and it doesn't feel out of place like the crap that was season 2. |

chakracat said: If there will ever be a plan for a third season, I bet that it will be a whole new cast. The Kougami and akane story line is pretty much finished I've been expecting something along those lines, really. Asimov's Foundation is like multiple stories/views on a same universe, covering a big time span, isn't it? 4kicks said: The only complaint I can think of is the Engrish, but that was to be expected. It would be flipping amazing of they make a 3rd option in the BD/DVDs for Japanese audio with English dub replacing only the Engrish parts...get best of both worlds. Unfortunately, that seems very unlikely. It will either be all English dub, or Japanese with Engrish dressing. It's actually not completely absurd since some people's voices change a bit over different languages, right? :p |
