It depends, there was kind of some yaoi subtext in "kids on the slope", but it wasn't strong enough to make me say, "these guys are gay"... as long as the subtext isn't so pronounced that it makes me think the characters are gay, it's fine... For example "L" from deathnote is probably autistic and doesn't know much about social skills.. perhaps he wanted to give Light a foot massage because it's simply a new skill he wanted to show off. Light is obviously not gay and clearly was letting him do that because he's deceitful. Japans are more accepting place for that kind of thing, so possibly.
