Like others said, it's not that hard keeping track of those shows especially if most of those shows are designed so that you don't miss out on much if you watch it with one week separation.

I think it depends on how long someone has been watching anime, how long the series' that they've watched are, how many OVA's or movies are included, what their lifestyle is (school-age, at-home career, busy career, etc), how many hours a night they sleep, what other hobbies they have and how much time they dedicate to those... etc. There are so many variables that can factor into that.

Personally, I just watch at my own pace. As long as I'm enjoying myself, it's all good. I don't really think in terms of magnitude.

In my world to blow through anime episodes quickly all you do is decide to pull an all nighter on a Friday or Saturday then keep watching past the point of wanting to sleep. After some point between 2-5 in the morning you start finding everything funny just because of how sleep-deprived you are...

Well that's me anyways XD I'm sure other people just do it whenever or just watch the really short 12 ep. ones.

I don't see what's so hard about it. The episodes all air weekly on different days, and all have different plots, casts of characters, and genres.

Well, I can't watch five-six anime at the same time. I think it depends on each person, some are really busy while some have many free time, some can really just watch tons of anime regardless of their schedule while some just can't. But I do admire those people who can watch many.

Multitasking. I've only been watching anime for a little over a year.

I don't write down all of the OVAs and specials like other people do, though.

Basically what other people said. They either have done it over a long period, or they have a lot of time on their hands.

I only watch about one or two shows at a time and it takes me forever to get through them. I have a job and go to school full time. I run a blog too and do stuff like "go outside".

I have one friend though who brags about watching shows. He doesn't judge them, he just watches them. One after the other. Every new show that's out as it comes out. Kinda sucks? Oh well, he'll still finish it.

I kinda envied him until I saw he had gained 30 pounds over two months. That's what watching too much anime gets you once you're in your mid twenties, inactive and can't rely on your metabolism to fight all the soda away. Be careful kiddos.

Some shows I'll stick to the end, if I respect the studio/director who made it or if a friend tells me its worth it.

Some shows I have to drop though. Aldnoah.Zero, SAO, Noazaki-Kun(this one was actually good, but it didn't click with me).

I'll usually give a 24 episode show till like episode 8-10 to see if it was all building up to something.

I'm with that with a lot of shows honestly haha

The way I look at it, boring isn't the end of the world. Bad is though. Like if you're watching an episode and are like "Yeah, this didn't blow my mind. It was just fine.", that doesn't warrant a quick drop.

If it's like "WHAT THE FUCK ARE THESE GUYS EVEN DOING?" like I was with Aldnoah, then it's clear it's not worth my time. I don't watch anime to be frustrated, you know?

Exactly. Also in regards to sexual fan service regarding females which I know is a heated subject it doesn't really ruin an anime for me unless there's an over abundance of it. Stuff like Freezing is what I'm talking about. I believe sexual fan service regarding females isn't really necessary and too much of it ruins a show. I also really dislike shows that under develop their characters.

No BS I've probably seen over 90% of anime ever created. I started watching anime when I was 10 or so. I'm now 31.

My VHS and DVD collection (which now lives in a storage unit ; ( ) must have been over 1000 tapes and dvd movies and series. In my teens I discovered MIRC which ended up as 4x 256 disc binders of ovas fansubs. Then after 3-4TB HDDs came out I built a 30TB media server..... Anyways that's full along with the several other NAS and servers I built.

So anyways that's how you end having seen 1000's of titles. Btw the reason my MAL list is tiny is because after using pencils and then word processors to update my list over 20 years NO WAY IN HELL I'm doing that shit all over again LOL!!!

Honestly i just love anime like most of you. Some of us have just been around longer : )

EDIT: Oh yeah!! Just wanted to mention that after awhile the amount of anime you've seen goes from being a cool accomplishment and turns into somewhat of an embarrassing topic : )!!!

Well, I watch animes since 7 years and now I am reaching 500 completed animes. Many animes are short, have only 12 episodes, watch a lot of them will make the animelist increase so fast. I have 211 days of animes watched, so I thinnk my animelist would be at least 700 animes if I haven't watched many bigs anime like naruto, bleach, one piece, fairy tail, inuyasha, reborn, pokemon, yu-gi-oh, dragon ball and others

I just took the whole list, alphabetically, spent a few evenings and marked all the anime i watched. That's a lot easier than trying to remember all the anime you've watched, find them and add them.
At least when you've watched so much anime you need this site.

When did you start this? How long does it take it you marathon? Tips perhaps to get through more anime?

I know this is an old thread but it piques my interest.

Step 1: Retire by 25
Step 2: Get used to the uberman sleep schedule
Step 3: Get a shit ton of piss-bottles, shit bags, food, and two monitors. You need to monitors for downloading while you watch and jacking off. Buy a treadmill and some vitamin D pills.
Step 4: Pay a person to feed you and clean
Step 5: Plan your funeral and write your will

22*365*55 = 441650

441650 - 1 = 441649, the whole death scene will probably last an hour.

441649/12 = 36804.08... anime completed

This is assuming you will live until 80 and each series will consist of twelve anime.

It happens. Only happens by people with no real life. They live for watching things that has no real importance, and think that is importance. Almost a religious experience.

Very odd.

You just have to not have a life. Nah, I'm kidding. A 12 episode series can be watched within approximately 4 hours if you skip the opening and ending, so you could potentially watch an entire series every day or two.
