Daemons exist, in fact, a number of humans throughout history have already made contact with them, and some have even been granted immortality and principality in the Immaterium for their deeds.

However, at the present, the veil between reality and the immaterium is still strong, and as such, requires immense power to be torn open. Coupled with the fact that the psyker genes are still virtually non-existent among mankind in this age, it's pretty much impossible to see a Daemon.

But in the dark future, when She Who Thirsts is born from the ecstatic dying screams of billions of twisted souls, the veil will break and the Eye will open to gaze Terror upon mortals. Then, the golden empire of mankind will crumble in a sea of blood and chaos, and our stars will darken one by one as Daemon stalk the land of the living. Bargaining their way into reality with promise of power and might, the desperate and the foolish will turn to the promise of power, immortality, change and excess, sowing destruction and chaos.

But this is a tale of the far future. We are blessed indeed to live in ignorance of the darkness that lurks beyond.

In the Bible, demons are associated with: possession (people possessed by a demon or demons exhibit insanity, seizures, suicidal behavior) and oppression (external calamities focused on an individual) as well as unnatural animal behavior, false prophesy, and probably some other things I've missed. Documented cases of "hauntings" or poltergeist phenomena are most likely demons as well.

For example, there is a bridge in England (if I recall correctly) where dogs go to kill themselves. They are frequently observed leaping from the bridge to their deaths for no apparent reason, and some, after surviving the fall, return to the bridge to throw themselves off once again until they have perished. It's something that numerous people have observed here. Things like this make absolutely no sense until you consider that there are malicious forces at work in this world, twisted evil things bent on the corruption and destruction of God's creation.
