| Shoes are one of those things that usually lasts a long time, for years even, with minimal care. They don't have to go through the washer or dryer after every wear, and some shoes can be resoled. So it stands to reason that buying more than one, provided that it gets wear, shouldn't be considered a waste: Switching shoes means each one lasts longer. They don't degrade, nor do your feet change size over time like your waist might. So how many shoes do you own? Dress shoes, sports shoes, walking shoes? Personally, I own about 5 dress shoes (I splurged a bit), and 3 walking shoes, and 1 loafer. The loafer is falling apart, since it's been in service for like 5 years plus. I just keep it because it's easy to put on an comfortable for driving. |

| In order to prevent it being just a listing thread, please discuss what you think about keeping more than 1 pair of one kind of shoe, as opposed to just wearing 1 pair until it becomes soiled, then buying another. |

| I only have a couple I use daily, but when I think about it I actually have quite a few pairs. A few different pairs of sneakers (work, everyday wear, and for working out in), sandals and flats, various pairs of dress shoes, and then cosplay-specific shoes as well. If I had to guess I'd say I probably have 15-ish pairs actually. |

| - 1 pair of shoes I'm still using (black) - 1 "new" (bought this spring and only worn like 2-3 times) pair of shoes as spares (black) - 2 old pair of shoes for gardening work (white) - 1 old pair of gym shoes which I don't use anymore (white) - at least 1 pair of dress shoes (black) - 1 pair of slippers I'm using and a couple of old ones I'm not using anymore but still keep them (mostly brown) - 1 pair of shower sandals (dark blue) - 1 pair of "new" shoes which I've only worn for testing the size and kept them for special occasions (white) Well, I mostly only use one pair of shoes for going out and one pair of slippers at home. |

| I used to have 3 pairs of shoes (1 dress shoes, 1 regular shoes, and 1 pair of flip flops). I probably have 7 pairs now. 2 dress shoes (but one of them looks like they belong to a hobo), 3 regular shoes, and 2 flip flops. Don't ask me how that happened cause I don't know. There are other shoes but those are from when I was 8. I just never got rid of them (who knows why) and they're way too small anyway. |
