| Yeah the DS2 bosses aren't memorable. So many humanoid enemies. They don't have the same wow factor or presence as other bosses. Also, the "Congregation" was just three priests, some hollows, and some crawling hollows. How lazy. I laughed the first time I encountered that boss because of how cheesy it was. |
| I'm not really a much of a hype or GOTY type of guy. I just look for particular kind of sensations for a lack of better word, which tends to have nothing to do with what's perceived as quality gaming. Now I'm playing Diablo (II ofc), because unfinished business and I feel like I want to complete the game lore. First time seeing Act V. I probably won't bother with another run past normal as I have no interest to hunt gear and my build is boring as hell (Druid spamming tornadoes that don't hit anything). Anyway, this shouldn't take too long and I'll pick up something else soon. |

| Remember not to expect a good story or characters out of Nocturne though. It's a more atmospheric entry in the franchise instead of the character-driven entries like the Persona games, Devil Saga and Devil Survivor. Still a really good (and REALLY brutal game), so I'm certain you'll enjoy it mango. |

(So you need to keep track of how many more times you win than lose) Rank points are counted only for duels. Red soapstones and invasions don't count. |

| Is the story what people don't like? I thought the gameplay sucked, too, but I've never played the first one. Once you get the shotgun, it's all you need. Once you get the rocket launcher, you beat the game quite easily. the level design is weak, the AI is terribly dumb, the camera sucks, and the combat isn't very exciting. |

| Couldn't sleep so I went ahead and finished up my DaS2 plat. I shouldn't be too surprised but it's funny how fast you can plow through the game when you know what you're doing and at a comfortable level in SL and gear. Only took me 3 hours to start NG++ and get to Drangleic to buy the remaining miracles/pyro. |

| Okay, I played through six missions in DMC1 and the only thing that sucks a lot is the camera. The camera is garbage and I don't know what they were thinking. It always gets in the way, especially during fights. The camera is so bad that you can't even move properly. |

| 3 is the most well done game in the series. I usually recommend for people to play it if they're iffy on the franchise and just want the cream of the crop. I played them in order and 3 is my favorite with 1 close behind then 4 following. 2 was ok but it was really easy. I recommend skipping it bc it really doesn't offer much. For 4 I have some mixed feelings. I loved the Devil Bringer, using a certain sword, and the new Devil Trigger was badass. Some of the bosses were interesting too. I didn't like essentially playing through half though. That was just lazy. All in all it was a fun game and I enjoyed the new character. |
| I'd agree DMC3 is one of the best in the series. While not a bad game, everything else about DMC4 I didn't really like. 1 I'd go back to play just 'cause. I've played about 6 chapters of DmC and I already think it's a fine game, right up there with 3. I also just played the Conception II demo on the Vita, and uh...anime man. Fuckin' Japan. It's basically Persona, but shittier. |

| I don't really get the dislike of 4, now admitedly I haven't played enough of 3 to do a direct comparison(gonna get the HD thingie soon hush) but from What I KNOW, 4 seems mechanically better. I mean Nero himself isn't too bad, he's much more simple than dante but acts as a good stepping stone to understand the more advanced mechanics of the game, though his EXCeed mechanic does let him pull off some fancy tricks reserved for people who really know how to use him Then theres dante, who can use 5 different stance and 6 different weapon on the fly, Unlike in 3 where, at least for the stances, you had to pause the game, then change to the stance. Dante in 4 has an absolutely enormous pool of techniques, provided you can switch them mid combo. The writings shit, no hiding that, but hey Ninja Gaiden games have shit writing and they kick ass too, yes the "Let's go back the nero levels because we ran out of time/budget is bad" but TBH I didn't care that much, I just wanted an excuse to kill more demons with dante, and then beyond that is the bloody palace. DMC 4 is also an incredibly good looking game considering it's time DmC 5 get's a lot of flak for taking more than a few leaves from god of war in regards to it's combat, often forcing players to use specific weapons to kill enemies rather than giving them that combo freedom the 3&4 reinforced pretty heavily, it also removes the hard lock on for some...odd reason. From all I know about it, 4 is miles better than 5 Just my 1 cent though |

| dmc 4 could had topped 3 if crapcom didnt fuck the dev team over with their time to finish the game, thats why the 2nd half of the game was all backtracking. The game actually wasnt finished |

| I think DMC4 has the best story, nicest setting, best soundtrack, and obviously production of the DMC games. That backtracking was truly annoying, though. As one of the few franchise fans that thought Ninja Theory would do a good job with DmC, I can verify that it's not a good game. Mediocre, really. The story was quite bad, and Virgil's character was ridiculous. That, in addition to having to fight enemies using certain methods, rather than just letting the player enjoy the usual DMC combat mechanics, sucked. And I liked the way the game made you use different weapons to kill different kinds of enemies, otherwise you'd just spam one move all over again. I mean, oh no, instead of pressing the attack button, I have to hold R2 and press the attack button! (or whatever the secondary weapon button was) And the ability to use shitton of different weapons during one combo was just amazing. Usually you'd have to switch weapons in the inventory screen. Not in DmC. Long way until DMC4, but DmC's gameplay feels better than DMC1 and 3 at this point. It simply evolved in the right direction. |
