Honestly starting to get bored since we can all assume that everyone's going to fail in their assassination attempts

I'll watch until the end because I'm just really curious about Tokaku's past and Haru, of course. Still waiting for some big reveal.

Felt sorry for Kouko not wanting to be an assassin.

Haru so nice writing her name down for good luck

Decent episode.

Finally we get to see some action. Only thing I hate is how carefree Haru is. Other than that I'm really enjoying the story.

I liked it, and I also like how they'll have a different ending song for each girl. So far they've been great.

I think Haru is a cute little ball of sunshine, but really this girl is dumb. I know she wants to graduate and make friends with everyone, but seeing as how two girls tried to kill her, I hope in the next episodes she'll keep her guard up when she gets another notice. After two attempted assassinations, I think this should wake her up.

Still a fun show. I like getting the backstories.

Tokaku kinda reminds me of Kanaan, can figure things out with a 'scent' and wanted to protect a girl because she has a diff 'scent'

Anyway, was expecting some yuri but still hasn't happened until now, that's ok I can wait. Kannazuki no miko was like this too until ep 8.
I agree Kouko was not good in assassination, girl was nervous when trying to reload a gun lol

Lycoris Radiata, or the magic lily. They "guide the dead into the next reincarnation" and are used at funerals. Also involved in legends where lovers will never meet or can't be together, since the leaves and petals don't live at the same time.
Seems like a generic funeral flower in a similar vein to white lilies also being a sign of mourning.
Hyuga Junpei: “Yeah… I’m confident… Because my teammates will help me out! I can shoot confidently.. because it will be okay even if I miss!”

Kagami Taiga: “I don’t know about being the bad guy or whatever. It’s only in stories where titles like that decide the loser. This is our show. We’re the ones who are writing the script.”

Otoya's flower, the mountain lily (Yamayuri, of Marimite fame) means "Joy of life." Fitting for someone who takes joy in removing life(?), although with so much yuri subtext with that flower, it's strange to have one of the non-paired characters have it.

Kouko's spider lilies mean "Looking forward to seeing you again." Irena-sempai? Suzu? God? Fits somehow.

Manga Suzu gets bonus points for being the flower expert/translator. Also, very pissed off that they downplayed the Kouko/Suzu yuri action.

I think some students know about the mission hence they don't bother to get involved, there was a conversation from some students talking about the assassins and the last target didn't even last a week.

If only towards the end all the assassins that were knocked off (supposing that they're not killed) return pushed by a revenge lust, and there's a very huge fight between the assassins remained, the ex-ones and Haru & Tokaku, it will be very good..

But I sense that they'll cut out the more insignificant assassins every week until there'll be the most significant ones and then we could see some twists.

But this show needs to improve, because it was so promising.

When Haru's backstory was started, where everyone sacrificed themselves to protect her, I had a suspicion that she was special/gifted, that she might somehow have influenced, probably subconsciously, their actions. When the administration for the Black Class indicated that a flip to protector of one of the assassins was within their expectations, this only strengthend the suspicion. My current working theory is that the Black Class is actually a project to test/strengthen Haru's special talents. Haru's cheery optimism could be a necessary component of or a consequence of her protection.

Actually, I'm also wondering if Kirigaya isn't also unusual, with Namatame watching out for her in a similar fashoin, if her comment about girls like Naru/Kirigaya has a deeper meaning than sweet/airhead.

Finally, if she did have a subtle fascination/obsession effect, it would help explain why scissors-girl couldn't just off her to get the prize, she HAD to give in to her serial killer fixation. (That being said, the fact that she's a psycho-sexual serial killer is a plausible enough reason that she had to take the opportunity. It is a form of obsessive insanity.)

Meh. The first two episodes were kind of promising but every character is basically a walking cliche and I know that Haru has some secret or whatever and she isn't just a tryhard who wants everyone to love each other but her character is still annoying as hell, and so are most of the assassins. Chitaru is the only character I like so far, and Tokaku is okay.

It's not a bad anime but the first couple episodes made me believe that there might be just enough to differentiate this from the rest, but it doesn't appear to be that way. Also anime in general need to stop doing that Bakemonogatari-esque character rambling sequence at the end of every episode, seems like most anime do it now and it's getting old

We got the interactions between the other assassins back a bit (Niratame? and Chitaru's holding hand thing) but the conversation between bomber girl and her roommate was cut out :( and since the bomber is gone, we've missed out on their interaction where roommate's supposed to have overheard bomber's desire to stop being an assassin.

Ah well, hoping for a good ending at least.

I also hope this comes true. As in, "We no longer have to follow the rules so fuck you." Then Haru fucks their shit up and Tokaku confesses.

In a perfect world...

Anyway, it was a pretty good episode. It was obvious by how easily Tokaku/Haru spotted all of Kouko's traps that her inability to be a good assassin was emphasized. I especially liked how after the bomb went off, in Tokaku's POV, all we could hear was a loud ringing.

I feel like they're getting the assassins with no REAL motive out of the way first, so the ones who really NEED to kill Haru get more screen time, and make the trip through the series more worth while. I mean, they're letting us get to know Nio and Hitsugi/Chitaru, Isuke and the others enough so when the time comes, we're either attached to them or hate the shit out of them.

I'll be honest, this episode seemed a little lower on my scale than the previous three, but it still had some interesting points.

Again, something I'd like to see expanded on in the future.

Speaking of Tokaku and Haru, we did get bit closer on the yuri front this week, though for me it seemed like a slight step back from last episode's interactions. Hopefully this is just a one-time occurrence, and next week will be more promising!

Man, by the end of this show, Azuma will be completely wrecked by Ichinose naievety xD

So in this episode, we had the failed assassin. The irony in his action vs her ideal was funny.

I really like that each girl have a different ED, make it a bit less repetitive

Yeah did not like this assassination attempt as much as the first one with the scissor loving girl. Just didn't care much for Kouko and her wish, she was quite stupid. Otherwise we got a bit more on some other characters such as Hitsugi which I liked. The different reactions to the girls in the exams was nice as well.

So the answer to riddle of this question was "Death"? After all "What suddenly comes suddenly and then never leaves" is passing away from this world for all eternity. The assasination message was also related to solution of this riddle and it was "Death isn't the end of life; it's the completion of life" which I find so meaningful. So I wonder what you need in order to free caged bird in the next week's episode.

iLostReason said:

I am wondering the same but judging by previous episode they are going to get killed by Nio if they fail at their attempt to kill Haru after all.

I feel sad for Kouko's circumstances. The stress and anxiety behind her creeping out with her past. Hope she has a nice life after her failed attempt. I think she leave the class because why would you kill a failed assassin like that.

And somehow I'm pretty sure they have some sort of honor of letting a failed assassin lived. But with Otaya I think she died leaving with her a secret that she saw at Nio.

Somehow Nio could be related to Haru in terms of past but there is still no evidence to connect that matter. One thing is for sure Nio has a nasty skeleton in her closet.

Haru's naive personality could be a bother but something tells me there more to it. I agree with someone here within this forum that what if this whole thing's purpose was for the benefit of Haru. I mean it's still unclear and we can't simply swallow her past like that. There is more to it. And if every assassin is like that, incompetent well still its still early to say..

I'm sticking watching this anime up to the end. I think the Yuri part is coming slowly. I hope haha

The teacher is a normal guy. He didn't do shit and he won't do shit, there is no "riddle" behind him, nothing to hide. Tokaku didn't notice him because she was completely mesmerized by Haru, read the premise of the show and see what I'm getting at.

What about Nio talking on the phone with a woman? She might have connections with Kaiba, but the teacher is a normal guy.

This show seems to be the Jack of all trades, master of none for it's specific genre. It does enough but nothing is quite up to par with other series out there.

I feel that I should note that I do in fact believe that there will be more to this show than the weekly assassin drama. Although sadly even if such does happen it still wont surprise me.

kinda sucks that the outcome of each episode is so predictable.

already said it in the last episode it is way to formulaic to create any kind of tension.

really hope they mix it up and do not have every single assassination attempt be full of preperation. atleast one of them needs to give haru the note personally and then try to kill her like right away. the series really needs to mix things up.

I mean I was hoping the last one did survive that suicide(liked her the most of the bad guys) but overall I'm really disappointed. they are assassins. they should behave as such. especially tokaku. I hope they change things up a bit rather than assassin of week, otherwise things would get boringly repetitious. And they need to take their time to flesh out the characters cos even with that little background story of Kouko, I didn't really care for her.

Obviously there's more to this story with all this talk about the "Akuma's blood" and all these organizations, hopefully we will see more of this soon.
