I do not remember much , but here goes.

I am looking for an anime that included in its characters are : a female gunslinger(she wears shorts I believe and is a "firecracker" type of gal), a sword wilding killer for hire man who gave it up because he got so good that killing meant almost nothing to him; he has flash backs to when he defeated a multitude of men, the story also includes a "Shinto"(maybe) priestess who has a guard, the priestess is on a mission for something special, again cannot remember what exactly.

I forget the basic plot, but remember a few maybe fan service scenes ie: bathing in a natural hot springs and so forth. There is also an episode that features a geisha house that is out in the middle of no where (oasis if u will).

The story is a mix of old west meets samurai with a bit of supernatural.

Any help would be appreciated!!

I distinctly remember that main characters had these orbs or gems that were placed into different objects and gave the objects special powers. I think there were like 7 or 8 of these gems in total, and each one had a different color.

One of the characters was tall, and had a small golden pistol with a purple orb in it. He didn't fire the gun often, but when he did, it was really powerful, making one of those gigantic kamehameha beams/balls things. I believe (not sure) that he got that orb or pistol from his mother.

There was also a small girl whose gem was placed into a musical instrument (a flute or a harmonica, think), and if she played that instrument she could make a great explosion.
