| Fanservice taints any anime it's in, except the kind that makes a genre out of it, I guess. Even though I love Code Geass, the over-sexualisation of female characters through fanservice was extremely irritating. |

| I find it takes away sometimes. Nisemonogatari comes to mind as a show I would of liked alot more without as much fan service. Also, I feel likes I've seen at least 5 other threads about this before... |

| Fan service has only ruined one anime for me and that was HOTD because I was foolishly expecting something else. Even then, it wasn't tooooo bad once I realized what it actually was. Everything else was expected, thus it did not ruin it for me, as long as the fan service knew it's place and kept it's nose out of the important bits. It's honestly not that much of a problem, especially if it's good fan serivce. |

| Yes, those times when you start an anime that doesn't have the ecchi tag (so you don't expect any fanservice) or if it has ir you just thought it was going to be toned down and then bam, the boobs get more screen time than the plot or the gags. Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, Tasogare Otome x Amnesia and Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai! are some offenders, and none of them have the ecchi tag. |

| I'm fine with fan service as long as it has at least something to do with the plot, not like having a beach episode for no reason. A good example of good fan service would be the recent episode of Nisekoi, yes it was was the pool episode but we had story line progression between Raku, Onodera, and Ruri mixed in. |

| I don't think fan service ruins an anime, but the amount of fan service can form my opinion of the show immediately if nothing else of interest happens. Maoyuu Mao Yuusha for example starts it's first episode with nothing but boring macroeconomics talks and bouncing boobs. Unfortunately, not even boobs can save boring dialogue, so I immediately dropped the show. |

| Rosario x Vampire from what I've heard. I've only watched the anime, but it's evident the fan service is a key factor to it which is one reason it falls shorts. Manga readers have told me the manga not only has superior art, but a good plot that doesn't focus as much on fan service compared to its anime-counter part. |

| I don't see how sexual fan service can ruin shows that are made to get you off. This only happens to me with shows where I didn't expect to see skin. Hanasaku Iroha's 3rd episode comes to mind, where it started off as a really nice coming-of-age drama, then suddenly we had yuri. |
