Dub voices are usually disappointing, only okay one here was Kayaba. I lol'd at the pronunciation of his name though (not that I can blame the VAs I guess, but still...).

Looking forward mostly to see how it turns out, doubt I'll watch every bit.

*sigh* I guess it will get good reception until the second arc. America seems to like these kinds of stories anyway. That tentacle scene though...

Wow I'm surprise they are viewing this because western shows tend to avoid shows with incest unless its taken as a joke.
Well, depending on where you live, incest doesn't include relations with cousins. It's like that in certain American states and certain European countries, but I guess it is a bit much regardless of that.

I think that sao is a enjoyable series and probably might gain new anime watchers. I don't know about the incest though.

I hate the dub already, "The reason I created Sword ArT online" too much emphasis on the 'T' just a nit-pick. Asuna and Kirito's voices are annoying :p Anyway, I'm gonna force my brother to watch it since her made me watch School Days, It's troll time. I'll probably watch it to see if the dub gets any better.

Nope. It has a cool style and it airs anime I've not seen before, with the only anime on it that I have a problem putting up with being Bleach.
I especially love Soul Eater and Inuyasha.

Have fun 'Merica!

lol this would likely happen. Dumb move by them..

As I already said, while its possible this could happen, plenty of worse things have been available for children to see on television.
Toonami isn't aimed at children.

So getting a popular action show and putting it in a timeslot where action shows thrive is a dumb move?

Anyway, as people keep saying it's not aimed at kids. Not in Japan and not here either. Still, if it wasn't for the incest, rape and tentacles it would have made for a fine kid's show.

Wha...? Toonami aired Deadman Wonderland? That's not one I would EVER have imagined them dubbing or airing. Not saying it was bad, just very much NOT the mainstream stuff Toonami usually shows.
Deadman Wonderland is violent, shallow and angsty. It's perfect for a mainstream audience.

If you really want to fit in, just put Legend of the Galactic Heroes in your top 5 and have it be the only 10-rated anime in your list.

It's going to be aimed at adults anyway, so I doubt this'll be a problem.

Rather it'll be aimed at a time where adults and preteens could sneak up to watch the show if they wanted to. Even when Inuyasha was first on Adult Swim, that didn't stop kids in middle school from watching it.

It's gonna be interesting to see how more casual anime fans will react to SAO watching it for the first time on Toonami. Chances are the first arc will get them good ratings, and this target audience will probably be less critical about SAO's flaws.

Well, I watch the show (personally I thought it was "okay"). What I can say is that English dubs are gaining some nice artistry to add to their collection. It is very nostalgic, because a new generation will be introduced to anime the same way I was: Toonami!

Great news for those in the US, if it gets more people into an exceptional series like this then I'm all for it. Heck I'm all for pretty much any anime on TV these days. Blu Rays sound lovely as well.

Just wish we had something similar in the UK, best we get is Ghibli season on Film4.

This comment is about 8 years too late.

Dubs have been good quality for quite some time and some anime shows work better dubbed (ex: Bebop )

I really don't understand what people are saying the big deal about its contents are. There was a single close-call tentacle rape scene later on in the series and a cousin/sister who liked her brother (but it wasn't even made that big a deal of).

If people can't handle that, especially on a time-block that airs much more sexually explicit shows aimed even more clearly at adults, then maybe people need to grow up. There's been much worse on television.

I was asking if Toonami "leveled up" its age threshold. If there's still a difference between Toonami and [adult swim] (if that's even around anymore), well...

"We" have no problem with a relatively tame show like this. But you put too much faith on people from the outside looking in.
