It doesn't have the same fanbase that Madoka has so it has a harder time attracting fans to buy stuff for it.Didn't hurt Madoka. And I would think that having new episodes later on would spark some newfound interest in people buying BDs that they might not have had previously. |

So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

ONAs suck because Japan still hasn't figured out how to stream things in tolerable quality. Not sure what's so hard about it, CR's streams look great, but oh well. High speed tank battles would look really bad with mediocre resolution and high compression. Imagine how episode 9 in the dark and driving snow would have turned out... so yeah, if the option is a quicker ONA or a slower TV broadcast, I guess I'd take the latter because we know we're waiting a long time either way. Sure I'll be buying the BD regardless, but that won't be out for months afterward. jmal said: Isn't it that Japanese doesn't differentiate between singular or plural nouns?Hard to tell whether "the staff" is singular or plural I guess, at least to me. Okay why am I getting the feeling that I've seen this bit before. Oh wait they sort of did this sort of thing with the Saki Side A Chapter, but made the last few epsidoes into OVAs for some odd reason. On an up side at least I'll be able to no longer deal with that one sub groups excuse of adding German lingo when it's not even used by the cast at all though. :3 |

Kid-Wolf said: There is no odd reason, and the situation is different for Saki Side A. For Saki Side A the reason is on the series composition, the whole story was deemed to be too much to fit in the 12 episodes in 1 cour, so they decided that it will be a 15 episodes but the problem was to find a way to broadcast the last 3 episodes. And such decision (of having 15 episodes instead of 12 episodes) should have been taken right at the beginning of the season. The only odd thing is why they chose to make it known that it will be a 15 episode series only later. Okay why am I getting the feeling that I've seen this bit before. Oh wait they sort of did this sort of thing with the Saki Side A Chapter, but made the last few epsidoes into OVAs for some odd reason. On the other hand, GirlPan was planned to be a 12 episode series and it is still planned to have 12 episodes. The delay was caused by the inability of the director and the studio to deliver the anime by the scheduled broadcast time. In Saki Side A's case, there has been no delay of airing of any episode for the first 12 episodes. |

No-one considered it may be a delay to change the ending to set up a season 2? I doubt they would have expected the popularity it seems to be getting. |

Maybe they delay the episodes beucase of that... Writed on his blog : http://blog.goo.ne.jp/mizshima1941/e/8c0b3d10579d26c232ef4999031bd95e |

Most importantly, anime caught up with manga. Furthermore they fully used up their timeslot for broadcast with episodes advancing the plot. Actually, chapter with material for episode 13 of Achiga came out this week. There's a rumor about those episodes being longer than average too. Nothing wrong here.On an up side at least I'll be able to no longer deal with that one sub groups excuse of adding German lingo when it's not even used by the cast at all though. :3 On the other hand, Girls und Panzer... First, they are unable to finish episode 06 in time. Second, they notice how popular their anime is, suddenly feel ashamed of low quality (I don't think there's anything bad with visual side but whatever) and decide to delay last episodes. Even then, 10 will supposedly be low quality. Third, they decide to change the plot so that it's easier to make S2. To be honest, comparing GuP to Madoka irritates me. Madoka's delay was much shorter (one month instead of three) and changes in plot were forced by circumstances in Japan (tsunami was supposed to come with Walpurgisnacht) not just a will to make more money by creating next season. |

From the announcement, the feeling I got is that they decided to boost up the number of cuts and this contributes to a lot to delay. It is not as if they have something already and feel ashamed of its quality as the animation of those episodes are probably not yet completed. What I got is that they want to make the quality even better and this causes the problem of not being able to meet the deadline (and indeed this points to some serious issue with the resource management and how the desire to create the best output be balanced with the resource constraint).Second, they notice how popular their anime is, suddenly feel ashamed of low quality (I don't think there's anything bad with visual side but whatever) and decide to delay last episodes. |

I really hated the first episode and I would have never imagined that I would be kinda sad about an announcement like that. You know...I really felt terrible for Miho at the beginning because she basically got forced in doing all that by very mean methods, what really gave me bad memories about war and stuff. But the show really got better to me, it's still by far not one of my favorites this season, but still enjoyable. So it clearly sucks that we'll have to wait that long for the final episodes! But maybe they really do change the ending significantly so that there will be a season 2 sometime. Because only that kind of work could take that long. Well, I'll just wait...what else can I do anyway? XD |

I'd prefer if this series had more realistic character designs instead of loli ones then I probably would have been a bit interested and actually watch this series, but I still probably wouldn't like it cause recaps kill my score. The more I think about this, the more I think this is probably redoing the ending to make a possibility for a 2nd season. Nobody really expected it to be a good seller (2ch preseason estimates were like 3.5k), so they probably planned for it to be a one and done with a conclusive ending... Well, thats only thing I can think of that would cause it to be delayed almost 3 months, at least. |
