| I don't think it should be expected for every date... just special occasions. I respect women who pay for their bill. There's a lot of circumstances that could affect this though... if she cooks for you on a regular basis, then footing the bill when you go out isn't a big deal. Their personalities, their living situation, their income, their expenses, the type of relationship they have, and so on. I wouldn't say there is a blanket answer that covers "most cases" because every case is different. |

| Depends on a lot of things, as others have already said, and quite rightly too. If its a first date, I have to determine whether or not the guy will be offended if I say I'm happy to pay my way. If it seems that they will be offended, I keep my mouth shut just to avoid any awkward fussing. For all subsequent dates though I expect to pay half or take turns paying. |
| It depends. For most formal dates, I'd say probably. I don't really go on many formal dates with my boyfriend, but since we're both poor college students we usually just pay for ourselves. I think what makes that ok is that I know he would pay for me, but I'd rather he didn't because I know how being broke sucks lol. If we were ever to go somewhere nice for a special occasion, like Valentines Day, anniversary, etc. I'd assume he would pay for that though. It's an unfair societal norm that the guy should pay for fancy dates, but I think most girls do expect it. |

| My boyfriend and I go back and forth paying. A few years ago when I was in another relationship though, the guy was a lazyass and I was stuck paying for most things (including the gas since he didn't have a car). I don't know how people can deal with that for long periods of time, their S.O. being a lazy cheapass expecting someone else to always pay. |
