Ah, my favorite show from this season has ended T______T It was a great and different series, the only complaint I have is that I wish the episodes were in chronological order. I hope it sells well enough for a second season <3

There better be...there better be more. This was the best Series all summer. It was smart, hilarious, weird, and just all around amazing. I wish there had been a tiny bit more about you, why exactly humanity is declining or what the hell is up with those weird as hell creepy fairies, but as it stand now, it was still done amazingly.

I was hoping this arc would enlighten us a little more on the history of the world and what the fairies were or where they came from. Aside from a few episodes that made direct remarks about current events(eg. the manga arc, the fairy island), The satirical nature of the show was pushed aside for more light hearted events. I have no problems with that, even though those were the best humor moments of the show. The point being, we know next to nothing about the world. They can get away with not telling us anything about it(letting it slowly grow from comments made about it) because they have such strong and interesting characters.

Ms. Sweets was one of the best leads I’ve watched in a long time. Hilarious, dark, deadpan, she was excellent and I love her because of it. The way she interacted with the fairies was great. and from my interpretation of this last episode, she was destined to be a lifelong friend of the fairies anyway. Speaking of this episode(this IS a review of it I guess.) I'm a bit unsure of what the fairy being in the ryobo has to do with anything. She did talk to the robot when she was lonely but that was before the Fairy granted her wish. That doesn't mean she stopped talking to the robot, so he was watching over her and being close to her and giving her luck perhaps? It would make sense that because of him she joined the wild rose tea party club. If there is one thing about fairies that I know for sure it's that something may seem simple to them, but its really a weirdly convoluted plan. There is also the fact that a few member of the club seemed oddly infatuated with Ms. Sweets.

Y was fantastic as always. Ever since I first realized who she was(Kanbaru from Bakemonogatari, and now that I'm such a fan of Inaba from kokoro Connect) It's a bit messed up that when her secret is revealed she goes and throws the other girls under the bus. Not that I’d want Ms. Sweets to be around that and not know what kind of psychos she were friends with. Pretty much from the point when She stood up and started spinning around in the magical "homosexual library" I pretty much could only keep back the horror I felt with the intense laughter the whole thing made me feel. Never would I have though I’d say a girl stealing books about boy love would be less weird then a conglomerate of other girls but today is that day.

Some of the best humor bits have been diaries/written accounts, which my assumption is it gets straight from the light novels, so I'll have to check those out one day. Curly, the moe little girl just..was so...crazy. Yes she's a little girl and she was feeling lonely...but heavens. First she throws hot tea in the dolls face, then she starts licking it off getting a bit close to the opposite of Y's fantasies AND THEN going straight up murder town on your doll/fantasy Ms. Sweets. I was falling out of my chair, but whether it was out of laughter or terror is up for debate.

Then on top of all this, the show gave me feels. The rest of the group, with all their faults were still sane enough to be friends with Ms. Sweets and if they ever got too crazy she could always hang out with her partner in crime Y. Then the fairies promise/wish fulfillment, when it popped out of the robot and said "Friend?" and Ms. Sweets broke down. I believe the fairy lived in the robot watching over her and visiting her in her dreams to keep her company. It also said "lots of visitors" which could mean he went into other kids dreams and could have been the main factor of her getting into the wild rose club. then again, the whole thing was a bit unclear so, all that really matter is, Ms. Sweets will always have friends, and the fairies as crazy as they are, will always be just around the corner for her. Shenanigans and all.

There is now a deep hole in my chest, a hole that will always long for more Jintai. Hopefully, someday, sooner rather than later, that hole will be filled with more Ms. Sweets. More assistant. More Fairies. More Y. More grandfather. I really did think this show was fantastic, and there is so much more of this open world to explore that I feel lost having only seen this little glimpse into it.
I sometimes watch lots of anime.
I sometimes write reviews of said anime at my website.

After watching the final scene again – how Watashi being happy and having people to care about also makes the fairy happy with ‘having lots of visitors’ – my head hurts from trying to interpret the whole existence of fairies, how they relate to human mind and all that. Maybe the fairies aren’t separate entities but are within us, representing… but then there are all those material things they actually managed to do… though it would explain why Pion couldn’t comprehend the existence of fairies- Ahhgh

The book Y dropped was titled "Touma's heart in the sky". The original is the comic "Thoma's heart" written by Moto HAGIO. It's a classic BL comic and I think the author must have been inspired from Hermann Hesse's works. If you like "Demian", try it.

After all, the series was not what I expected from the title, but it was not bad and the twisted characters Y and I were fabulous.

I missed Pyon at that ending xD
The development of the relationship between Y and Watashi was pretty nice.
The ending song was so good that it suited perfectly when Watashi realize she forgot something and started looking for it (the fairy).
And the part in which the fairy caming out the robot made watashi cry was so beautiful that I almost tear up... Watashi isn't already alone now =')
Watashi turned out to be for me the best character of this season, better than Kirito or Oreki.

Pleasant ending... 9/10 for the whole show. A very very unique show.

HHD will become a hidden masterpiece...and it looks like Hyouka, SAO and Little Busters!(you heard it) will have a run for their money with this anime's great value. Reserved for anime of the year 2012!

Watashi becomes another favorite character of mine for awhile, and while she indeed had her own humane/social flaws, oh boy she's still such a role model having a "swiss-style neutral" educative deadpan personality ^_^

Her perspective about society, the ideologies about fairies, and the show's satirical depiction of reality should not be taken seriously...although these accounts have taken subtly sarcastic hints on what our worldly current reality is in fact suffering: "Humanity has indeed Declined"...and still "Declining". 9/10 :3

And so it ends, with nothing to pa pa pa ra pa pa pa ra about. The ending actually touched me, beautiful directing, now I feel an emptiness inside...but the good one.

I was sure Y and Watashi would do something about the girls, it was dangerous living together with them for so long, not to mention that they reconciled quite easily (it was interesting to rewatch certain scenes from the episode where the viewer first saw Y "I'm not sure if we are friends, but you could call us partners in crime" -- now it makes sense). 4/5 for the episode.

Probably the best anime this year so far, I had lots and lots of fun with it 8/10. I thought for a second that the ending line meant a second season, but after a bit of research it doesn't seem like it. A pity really, I would love 12 more episodes.

When that fairy popped out from the robot, wow was it touching.

This show was great. It mixed so many things together so wonderfully. A little bit of mystery here, some satire there, some science fiction (i.e. what if Probes or Rovers have sentience), slice of (fairy influenced) life, a very likable protagonist with great supporting characters, the way they portrayed "light sources" and slight references to art pieces here and there and most importantly fairies (best mascot(?) characters ever!). Episode 9 was pure fairy goodness. Hopefully there would be a second season.

9/10 for sure.

Probably as many others have said, best anime this year but the year has not end yet! There's still hope for better shows or ones that are equally great.

This show was excellent in every way. I loved the art style, with its crayon-like backgrounds, vibrant colors and nice use of light and dark. Together with Watashi;'s cynicism and the wonderful music (OP cemented my love for nano.RIPE, and the ED was lovely, given that I haven't heard this singer since Azumanga Daioh and she always set a fitting tone to the show). And then there was this episode, which told us how rotten or disturbing some people can be without showing it.

Ever since its wacky start, I've been looking forward to this show every week. No two episodes were the same (other than the Paradogs arc, to some extent) and the fact that everything was shown in backwards chronology kept me interested. And then there are the fairies. Creepy and cute at the same time. Morbid, yet funny. They gave the show that little icing on the cake.

All in all, this show was good food for the brain and very, very enjoyable.

10/10. Best show of this season.

Must resist urge to rate this show 10/10, hated the time paradox episodes so this should be just 9/10...
"Why do I always realize it... when I've already lost it..." -Guts, Berserk

Fun series; glad I gave this a shot.

The ordering of the episodes is nothing new but it definitely worked.
Don't know how much content is built up in the novel but I definitely could hav enjoyed the series through two seasons with a more detailed plot and/or other stories.

its tempting to watch the series in chronological order...

Every person has flaws so why not accept them as they are? Of course, by taking these cases to the extreme the whole situation becomes slightly grotesque, making Watashi's and Silver's decision to reconciliate with the members of the club a bit questionable as if their forgiving attitude is ridiculed alltogether. The message remains ambigious.

It was amusing to see Watashi's incredibly cheerful expression when exclaiming her joy at being able to get the upperhand in her "friendship" with Y via blackmail to the viewer.

This series was all over the place, couldn't pick a tone and belittled serious emotions, sometimes to a nasty, mean-spirited level. It's really no wonder it's directed by the same guy who directed Angel Beats. Protag, the only character with decent development, was ironically (and to a degree intentionally) the least likable character in the whole show. Crying for her rotten personality in just few minutes before the end of the final episode didn't really touch.

Music was great, and I especially fell in love with the ending song, although they used the ending blending in the action couple times too many. Artstyle was colourful and soft, I think it might've been one of the biggest reasons I was entertained enough to watch this through.

Also on a very nitpicky note, this show really gave the BGM-slowing-down-and-dying -gag a run for its money.
Not a fan. But in the end, a failed effort in something fairly new is much better than seven new seasons of Dog Days.

This is one of those series I feel like I need to rewatch so I can connect the pieces together. But I loved it. Seeing that the little fairy she first came into contact with was around all this time made me all happy squee.

I think what I like best about the series is how it showed Watashi's ability to connect to people and things out there despite all her reluctance. People are impotant, like them or not. xD

I ended up giving the series a 7/10. The first arc was so great in its satire/hidden meanings/metaphors that the other arcs fell a bit flat in comparison (because they never reached that level).

Exactly how I feel. I can't see myself re-watching this entire series, but I could re-watch the first three, or four, episodes for sure.

When I first watch this anime, I dropped it without finishing because it was so boring. After hearing so much people talk about it, I got curious and just decided to finish the first episode .. and that bread scene took me completely by surprised. I watched the next episode and the next and now I just finished marathoning the whole thing. I just loved it. It was just so unique and the ending was perfect. I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I personally thought the anime got stronger after the Deja Vu episode..

I really like Watashi. I found her personality very easy to relate to. Despite how humans try to be kind, they will not always have nice thoughts. I thought her blunt, flawed personality was extremely fitting for this anime since she is narrating her own thoughts.

Overall, extremely unique anime, but slow at times. I wish I could give it a 8.5/10, but I'll have to settle on a solid 8.

like they said, casual fans love anime that they can comprehend, sometimes resulting to overrating, but if it's something different or hard to comprehend,it's easily downgraded.

A really interesting two episodes detailing the main character's younger years, I was probably the most engaged with the show during the finale. It was quite a shocker to see the two-faced nature of her classmates.

I think the whole show is very quirky and quite an alternative to what I'm comfortable with. The attitude of Watashi is either hit or miss but luckily I was drawn to her dry humour. Her little afterthoughts was what made her character entertaining to me. I have a fondness for the rest of the cast too, Y and Pion especially. The fairies were great too.

Artstyle was lovely, just like a watercolour painting. It really helped to drive home the fantasy aspect. At times, I found the pacing a little slow because it had huge sections of dialogue but now I've come to appreciate the personalities which since during these moments.

Highlight was the manga strip episode early on, that was very entertaining. I've never seen anything like this anime and I'm glad it left a good impression on me. I didn't like it a first but it gradually grew on me. A hidden gem for sure. 8/10.
