Wait...isn't the whole Higurashi series a random filler crap? I mean, this whole concept has an infinite possibilities for producing millions of unrelated arcs, but fanboys would still keep saying there's some extremely clever plot in there.
Yea, I agree. The first season was just unnecessary blood, screaming, laughing, shouting, USODA etc etc. Being a gore fan, I didn't mind it but I still thought it was stupid filler. At first I thought the anime would be something stupid to watch just to enjoy it...but not really anything to you know...like it. But the second season was good, but there was still a bit of of filler. I think that most of Higurashi was filler, but it's still worth the watch. Though, a little of the first season was needed, because you can't just jump straight into it, and the mystery was really thrilling to me. I loved it...but to make 20+ episodes of it is stupid. The concept is not infinite arcs, the concept is about friendship, hope etc. Once you get past the bloody exterior, you'll see that the series is actually very light hearted. The series wasn't spectacular as series, I will say that; but as an anime it was really good. It's my favorite series IN COMPARISON to most animes considering most of it is moe moe fanservice bullshit. Yes, there is a twist in it, and something somewhat clever in it. Rika is an interesting character because of her counterpart (Bernkastel). Hanyuu was interesting, because besides her moe appeal she had an actual character. A counterpart (her godlike self). The rest of the characters were average, and somewhat believable but nothing special (They all had depth, but they were still average characters). The plot had potential, but it got killed with fanservice, filler, and an overused concept. (BELEBE IN UR FRENDZ, AND BE HOPFUL. How many times has that been used?) Although the concept was presented in a unique way, it's still a lame concept. I like how it was presented for the MOST part. The twist was unexpected. Very unexpected. It's confusing when you get into it, but just that...confusing. It was sort of intelligent, but it wasn't amazing. (It would have been intelligent. I like the twist the most, but like I said...it got killed with fanservice, filler, and an overused concept.) The humor was a nice touch, but then it just became filler after too much was put into it. It was necessary to take a break from the gore, and sadness so I was very lenient with it. Though I hated how some of it was just thrown in there, and then that just became filler. :/ What I don't understand is how some fans could just be in it for the filler senseless gore. I was in it for Kai. Needless to say, Higurashi is my favorite anime...but not a great series as a whole. |
