Joe continues to be a very realistic well-written character.

This.

I can relate to Joe so much. Sad episode.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Everyone is worried about Joe q_q

I feel so bad for him, the rival he worked so hard to overcome just died, moving on from this won't be easy.

The press always interprets what it wants, misunderstandings.
Joe is definitely devastated by the passed away of Rikiishi.
That scene in which Joe threw himself to the ground sobbing for Rikiishi while Yoko looked at him from behind crying too... The feelings hurt me.
Let's see if Joe can recover after he said he could not...

Of course Joe and Yoko are the most depressed after what happened, those guys really got it wrong about Joe. Well, the aftermath is just like I expected it to be; tragic.

Joe seems like he's just having fun with the kids during Rikiishi's funeral, only then he gets hit by the reality of the situation.

Both Joe and Yoko cry in pain

I know this is Joe's story but I would've liked to have seen Rikishi's funeral. I have a feeling Yoko and Joe will reconcile through all of this which would be nice.

I've seen people say that the kids are the most annoying characters in the series but I find them endearing. If anything that honor goes to the media journalists, what leeches they are.

We're back to character-driven drama, which is good. The sports part of this series is something that's been done to death in the genre, but the drama still feels fresh. That shot of Joe just sitting in the swing as the snow was falling was a powerful image without any dialogue, and it conveyed his state of mind perfectly.

Poor Joe.

His main rival was the only thing that pushed him on becoming a boxer.

Not only was it Joe's first official defeat in the world of boxing, but he also ended up killing his rival, and the reason for his interest in boxing. It would need a new rival to relight the spark for boxing in Joe's heart, which is now fading into oblivion from the gust of wind Rikiishi's death blew towards Joe > 5:42 AM, 15/08/24

i agree with Joe, i dont know what to think either
what he is going through is unimaginable

shiraki just spawned, ig Joe wanted to visit the fueral but backed off , shiraki sensed smth and followed.. maybe
or she just wanted to check on joe coz he didnt visit the funeral

anw if this is only a horrible dream, Joe should wake up

also the opening hits so hard whenever a character driven arc undergoes :/

Joe and Yoko hide their pain, but quietly sob when no one is looking.
