THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- After the amazing Smile PreCure I do not want to hold too high expectation for the new series, particularly since the character design is not my favorite style. But yet it turns out quite well. Good humor, good animation, good action, interesting villains (I like the less abstract concept for the monster - "queue jumping" is no good! ). We even have more than 1 PreCure appearing! It is great to hear the voice of Miho from Girls und Panzer as one of the PreCure. She has risen fast and quick in popularity, much thanks to the smashing success of GnP. And "the oldest seiyuu ever to voice the center heroine of PerCure", Nabatame Hitomi, sounds just great. I am satisfied with the seiyuu performance so far. A promising start I must say. |
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

Oh... The first bad guy got the seiyu of Luffy/Kuririn. I like this. That was an okay episode. It seems Mana is as suicidal as Nozomi. |

Finaaaaaaaaaaaly :D some hyperactive, optimistic, over the top idiot hero lead! Ok not exactly idiot as in Nozomi's case, but still "act before you think" strategy is visible here. But I love Mana's reactions (my fav lead female character this season by far: scolding the monster FTW!). Transformation was ok, nothing spectacular here but fine (aka not as awesome as HeartCatch). Also that they show some side-characters is nice touch. I'm not dissapointed :) |

I'm quite glad that the main lead isn't as much heroically idiotic this time. Like with the whole freaking out over new stuff happening. New mascot, having to transform, sudden appearences of bad guys and such. Even though this was all happening, Mana was still her usual self. That was nice to see after the first-time freak-out thing happening with every other main lead. :) I really like Mana btw. |

A promising start, that's for sure. I have neglected the franchise ever since the start of Fresh, but I figure it can't hurt to watch this entry while I catch up on the rest. |

That was actually a really good episode. It is giving me (tentative) faith in this series. All of the precure seem interesting (a student council president, an idol, a rich girl, etc), the series started in media res like heartcatch, so maybe the plot will be more substantial than recent series like Suite or Smile. Also, I like how they are purifying hearts instead of collecting things like notes or decor (though that could come later). I think that taking advantage of the selfishness in people is a clever idea (compared to recent series anyway). It even looks like the villains have some competition with each other, which could play out in a few ways. The transformation was nice enough, and I am loving the ED. |

I expected the spiritual successor to Suite Precure♪ I'm happy it's not the case. So far, so good. It will be the best part of every week for me, I'm sure of it. Though, it can't beat Hunter x Hunter for me. |

A crab? REALLY? Well, it least it's not like Smile's Akanbes that turned into the first shit they saw and endep up looking really derpy. But I am mostly impressed but Mana, to be honest. Her optimistic personality is pretty contagious. Also, the orange girl is adorable. Sickeningly adorable. Anyway, this looks good. I hope it won't end up being plotless like Smile. |

Good first episode. I like the idea of having a veteran Cure (Cure Sword) instead of having to watch all the girls become Cures. Kind of like Cure Moonlight in Heartcatch. I like the villains and all of the characters and am curious to see who the blonde salesman will be. I like that the episode ended in a cliffhanger instead of the episodic nature Precure usually seems to take. The transformation was just okay but it is good enough. Can't wait to see more... |

It's really difficult to tell which Precure is the best, all of them is good. Well, I actually like those careless main character but this girl act before think and she is bad at lying for what I can hear in the preview. All start really good even thought I want to see Cure Heart fighting scene. For what I can see here that Mana already friends with everyone expect Cure Sword comparing for the previous Precure. The Endless Space of Precure, can't believe I still follow it. :D |

Mana was like one of those over-the-top good girls, but I think I can detect the flaw in her characteristics (and why she rely on Rikka to fix her unseeable errors). Instead of despair into monsters, selfishness plays a key in the bad-guy part, and "love" (or most likely kindness) plays the purifying role.. But still, knowing PreCure and all, they must "collect" something too... That pretty blonde guy is on my curiosity lead as well. Alice stup.. I don't think you can take a Selfish crab home! xD And Cure Sword... The Cure Moonlight of the group.. She needs hugs. That's all. |

Is it possible for a first episode to seem both really generic, and show great promise at the same time? Because that's how I feel about this one. It shows promise in the opening scene especially, we might get a plot that isn't summed up in one sentence. I get the strong suspicion that the princess the villains are looking for is that baby mascot thing. The first episodes of Heartcatch and Smile grabbed me, but this one... Eh. And now something funny I didn't notice when I watched. Forget short time, how did she climb up there in the first place? It's a hole in the middle of the ceiling. No ladders or ropes. |

I like the track that accompanied it. And that ending sequence... I just can't bring myself to skip it. The transformation was surprisingly simple; I imagined it to be similar to Suite. Not a bad thing though. Although Smile was enjoyable, I hope this one will have a plot and progression. |

This is what we didn't get a second season of Smile for? I swear this is like the second coming of Yes Precure. I'm trying not to be dissapointed by how formulaic it is. It's for little girls, and innovation is not the primary concern, but still. |

A really different vibe from what I was expecting. Seems like at least half of the Precure have affluent backgrounds or current jobs, like Makoto being an idol and Alice being the owner of the tower. I'm surprised that Mana, the centre Precure, is the SC President this time. Very different from Smile where the cast was just average students. Also, I think it's a very futuristic direction, where the faries (there's so many of them!) can morph in to cell phones and attach themselves to the Precure's dresses. Even from the character designs alone, Dokidoki seems more mature in nature. Love the villains and their 'selfish' take on being evil. I almost forgot about the transformations entirely until the end! Not what I expected again, a lot less exuberant and more reserved. Its like the focus isn't on making a grand entrance while wearing kickass dresses but instead it's shifted to dealing with the evil (the giant enemy crab) in a way that only the Precure can. First opening scene really interested me. Apart from the happy-go-lucky stuff, the scenes of despair really grab my attention. I really can't get used to Makoto's design in her non-Precure form, it's probably her hair. I didn't feel that the OP was very catchy so far but the ED was absolutely a joy to watch. The song and the sweeping camera angles across the concert created some very nice scenes. It's definitely a great treat to finish off the episode. |

I just finish the last episode of Smile Precure a while ago. It was meh. Good thing this came out already. Good episode imo. I'm liking Mana's Cure Heart transformation. I think Cure Heart is pretty. I'm a bit surprise that we have non average main characters this time. We got an Idol, a rich girl, a girl who A's, and Student Council President. Compare it to Smile Precure were all the girls lead normal, average lives. I'm not saying it's bad thought. Also, loving that ED. Maybe the girls might do some idol shows in their precure forms? Who knows... Anyway, I enjoyed this. I hope this'll be better than Smile. Also, its nice to know Miho's seiyuu from GirlPan is voicing another character here. |

I'm not really that hyped. Opening sequence was great, showing a "lone" precure type again for others to catch up to. I also like how the girls at least for now seem to come from somewhat different standpoints (I hope they don't all turn into classmates later). The transformation was a big disappointment and a throwback to pre-Heartcatch times, though. Also everyone is making an appearance, so I fear Toei is going for cash grab and not spread out plot development at all. |

Character designs are by Suite Precure's artist, which was something I was not particularly fond of (aside from Muse). Actual designs look like Fresh more than anything else, which was also something I was not very fond of. Story seems very similar to Heartcatch (maybe the whole heart concept?). Selfish designs look like crap (seriously 2 crabs?). Character introductions were better than I expected but didn't really have the strong feeling Smile Precure! had. Considering this show will be competing with Sailor Moon later this year, I'm not getting my hopes up any time soon. Small cast and quick revelation of two cures already doesn't bode well as that means potential incoming of very repetitive character episodes. Suite didn't manage to hold my attention at all with this and Smile and Heartcatch only did so because of their far more interesting characters. |

Smile's overall story is a piece of crap, but I only kept watching because Nao and Yayoi stole my heart and overall, the interaction between the five girls was hilarious at times. Right now I'm not crazy about Dokidoki, in fact I felt underwhelmed and that's saying a lot considering I thought Smile was charming but still crap. I'm also holding out for Sailor Moon, once that comes out it's going to be crazy. Toei better not mess it up (or whoever is in charge of the anime production). |
