Yearly summaries of your Anime and Manga Lists has been a long requested feature—and this year we were finally able to implement it!
We firmly believe that your watching and reading history throughout the entire year matters (we all know the holidays are a great time for binging!), so we planned to release this feature in early January. And it's finally here!
As an added bonus...
We've also added a "Wrap-Up 2025" filter to your Profile Statistics page so you can see data for existing statistics like Score Distribution, Hidden Gems, Most Watched Genres, etc.
Please note: The time filters for this page are not as accurate as the Wrap-Up page, so you may notice some discrepancies. We hope to apply some of things we learned while creating Wrap-Up to the Profile Statistics in the future!
A lot of time, hard work, and love went into creating this Wrap-Up, so on behalf of the team who put countless hours into making this a reality, I truly hope you all will enjoy it! Here's to a new MAL tradition π₯
Frequently Asked Questions
What's Included in Wrap-Up?
What data is used for my Wrap-Up?
Your Wrap-Up is generated based on your activity data on MyAnimeList, such as when you added a series to your list, your recent list updates, and list information you've added (e.g. status, score, dates).
What time period does the Wrap-Up cover?
Wrap-Up is based on List updates made between Dec 31 2024 23:00 PST and Dec 31 2025 23:00 PST.
Where you have not entered Start Date and/or End Date information, we have estimated these dates based on your List activity, such as when you added the title to your List and when you last updated it.
You can improve the accuracy of our calculations by retroactively adding Start/End Date information to titles that mistakenly appear in your Wrap-Up. Please see the question: How do I edit or correct my Wrap-Up data?
Are rewatches/rereads included for Wrap-Up?
Yes, rewatches are included in the time and count calculations for your full year statistics. They will also appear in some sections like your Most Time Spent.
However, they will not appear in other sections like Top Anime, since our goal was to showcase new titles you rated in 2025.
Are Erotica/Hentai titles included for Wrap-Up?
Titles tagged Hentai (anime/manga) or non-TV Erotica (anime) are included in the time and count calculations, but are excluded from sections that show anime/manga images.
We also did not calculate genre bias/deviant for the Hentai and Erotica tags (anime/manga).
Why are some titles missing from my Wrap-Up?
First, please check to see that the title is in your List and is not on your Plan to Watch/Read. Often, we think we have added something, but forgotten.
If the title is in your List and not on PTW/R, then it could be that you have not updated the episode or volume/chapter count since 2024. Without an update, we will assume you haven't watched or read any more of the title within the 2025 year.
You can correct missing information by reading the question: How do I edit or correct my Wrap-Up data?
If the title is tagged Hentai (anime/manga) or Erotica (anime), then it will only appear in specific sections of your Wrap-Up. For more information, please see the FAQ about Erotica/Hentai.
Finally, anime with a total duration less than 22 minutes (one standard TV episode length) are excluded from Wrap-Up to preserve some of the community calculations.
Changing Wrap-Up Data
How do I edit or correct my Wrap-Up data?
Since this is the first year of Wrap-Up, we will reflect modifications made to your list data for two weeks after Wrap-Up's initial release.
The final update deadline is Jan 16 2026 23:00 PST. After this date, changes you make will no longer be reflected.
To add or edit an anime/manga on your Wrap-Up, it must be in your List with a recorded End Date of 2025. Titles with empty End Dates on your list will not be updated after release to prevent 2026 watches from appearing. Note that 2025 End Dates can be added to anime/manga of any status: Watching, On-Hold, etc.
To remove an anime/manga from your Wrap-Up, add an End Date of 2024 or earlier. Deleting the item off of your List will not remove it from your Wrap-Up due to how the calculations are made. Note that 2024 End Dates can be added to anime/manga of any status: Watching, On-Hold, etc.
Updates will take a minimum of 8 hours and a maximum of 32 hours to be reflected, so we recommend making any changes to your Lists as early as possible.
How do I hide/show my Notes on my Wrap-Up page?
At release, Notes will show for everyone who has entered them.
This will be modified after a few days to follow your List Settings: If you have the column enabled, they will appear. If the column is disabled, then they will disappear.
Visibility of My Wrap-Up
Who can see my Wrap-Up?
Wrap-Up visibility follows your Anime/Manga List Settings.
If your List is public, then anyone who has the URL to your Wrap-Up page can view your Wrap-Up (logged in or not).
If your List is private, then only you will be able to view your Wrap-Up while you are logged in to your account. Likewise, only you and your friends can view your Wrap-Up while logged in to your respective accounts.
How can I make my Wrap-Up public or private?
You can change the visibility of your Wrap-Up (and your List at the same time) in your List Settings.
Changes to List privacy are reflected on the site and Wrap-Up page immediately.
About Wrap-Up Sections
How are Top Anime/Manga selected?
First, the score you gave the titles matters the most. So if you only gave scores of 9 to five titles, then only those will appear.
Next, we look at how your score compared to the community's score. If you scored an anime higher than most members, then this title will appear first. This is to showcase your personal highlights ahead of the collective highlights of the year.
After sorting your 2025 List titles by these two conditions, then the Top 5 will be selected. If less than five titles are above your mean score or you watched fewer than five titles, then you will have less Top Anime/Manga.
Why do I not have a Hot Take section?
Hot Takes are calculated based on your score versus the community's score. For an anime to be considered a Hot Take, you must have scored the title lower than 75% of the community.
How does the Genre Bias/Deviant % work?
In very basic terms: We look at the Anime/Manga Lists of everyone who had a Wrap-Up for 2025, calculate a mean watched ratio for each genre, and then your individual z-score for each genre (your deviation from the mean). We then sort everyone's z-score for each genre into a list, and measure where you are for that genre: Top X% / Bottom X%.
Essentially, it's measuring how much you focus on watching that specific genre of anime more/less than other people. So if 5/5 anime in your 2025 Wrap-Up are Slice of Life, you will rank highly in Slice of Life. But if 5/100 anime you watched are Slice of Life, then you'll rank low. The ratio matters more than the total count.
Finally, if you watched 0/10 Slice of Life, then the genre is not counted. We also exclude genres that appear very infrequently on your List (4%), and do not show percentages greater than 30% (since this isn't really a bias or deviation).
Why do I not have any Quickest Binged?
First, you need to have binged. By our definition, a binge means you must watch at least 3-4 episodes per day. Even if you entered Start/End Dates into your list, if the total duration of the anime divided by the number of days you spent watching is less than 77 minutes per day, then it will not appear on your Wrap-Up.
Second, the anime needs to be long enough to be considered a binge. We were discussing the criteria for this after the Kimetsu no Yaiba aired in theatres here, and we were all like, "it needs to be longer than the movie to be a binge" lol. So the minimum total duration of the anime must be more than 180 minutes. (This means watching all of Takopii in one day doesn't count.)
Why is this title appearing in my Quickest Binged?
For anime/manga that do not have Start/End Dates in your List, we use the date you added it to your list and your last update to estimate when you watched it.
This means that if you add a title to your list as Completed, we will assume you binge-watched it that day.
To remove this title from Quickest Binged (but not from the rest of your Wrap-Up), add approximate dates for when you think you started/finished the title.
How is Seasonal Warrior calculated?
By our definition, watching an anime "in-season" or "as a seasonal" means that you:
1. started the title with 4 weeks of it beginning broadcast, and
2. completed it within 2 weeks of it finishing airing.
To determine when you started watching the anime, we look at either the date you added it to your list or your entered Start Date. Likewise, to determine when you finished watching, we look at either your last updated time or your entered End Date.
You can fix incorrect estimations by adding Start/End Dates to your list before the Wrap-Up page stops recalculating.
Issues Currently Being Investigated/Fixed
I added an End Year before 2025, but the anime is still appearing in my Wrap-Up.
Because "-- -- 2023" is not a valid date, we make an assumption of a valid date for Wrap-Up calculations. In the example case, we assume this is a date of "01-01-2023." This logic should have been applied to all sections, but it seems it was missing from some.
You can either wait a few days for us to fix this issue, or you can add a placeholder date (01-01-2023) yourself and have it recalculated in the next Wrap-Up batch (in 8~32 hours).
Ongoing series with 0 episodes (e.g. One Piece, Meitantei Conan, Gnosia) are not appearing in my Wrap-Up.
We are currently investigating this issue and hope to have a fix soon!
Completed Manga is counting total time (e.g. all volumes) and not only the time read this year.
If you only update chapters (or volumes) and leave the volume (or chapter) field blank, then when you set the manga from Reading to Completed, your chapters may only increase by 15 but your volumes could increase by 20. Currently, the Wrap-Up data is looking at updates to both of those fields together, and calculating which one gives the More Time Spent.
From my non-Tech perspective, this will likely not be an easy issue to solve. But I will update this post once Tech has investigated.
Edit: I wasn’t expecting the Wrapped to be its own page; I was expecting it to be integrated like our statistics page. (I prefer the former). Thank you for this fun update!
My favorite pages were the fav People section and fav company section. I kinda wanna know if my fav seiyuus are in the anime I’m watching but sometimes I’m too lazy to go to their expansive page. I think it’s cool that you included which characters they voiced. For the companies it’s nice to know which ones made the ones I enjoyed and watched the most this year.
Some criticism:
I accessed it via tablet; it was kind of hard to go to the next section by swiping. I had to tap on the side dots.
This was fun to look through, thanks for creating this Wrap-up! It had pretty much everything I would like to see for a year-end summary and more. It's also cool that we could look at other users' Wrap-Ups. My only little nitpick is that I wish we could see a list of anime/manga titles of our completed anime/manga in the progress tab. I imagine that would also make it easier for us to be able to pick out what anime we may have missed adding to 2025. But anyways, I'm extremely grateful for this, thanks again!
"As promised, all that you seek, all that we desire, is prepared up there. On top of the Tower."
That is amazing and nice to see my entire year, but Im in a little shocked that One piece is not here. I now that is not in end section anime, but still it kinda hurts when i watched so many episodes and nothing of that is here. But still im really grateful that something like that is here
Some possible issues I've noticed:
1: Seiyuu roles are counted from anime I've dropped, but not from anime in "Watching"?
2: It mentions that Yukari Tamura voiced Kisaragi Honey, but she only does so in Cutie Honey Universe, which I haven't watched this year. So I suppose it tracks via seiyuu page rather than the anime pages?

@Kanadeeeoto Oh no, sorry about that. We're looking into the issue now!
Never knew I wanted a wrap-up like this! I especially loved the genre section and the section on seasonal anime, very fun to see ^^. Also loved the section on badges, but the Christmas one is not showing in the wrap-up yet :c Will be looking forward to watching it next year!
@tingy For what it's worth I have a similar issue with Detective Conan : I watched 600+ episodes last year, but since I neither started nor completed (obviously) it in 2025, it doesn't seem to count in "Most Time Spent" (nor in total time).
It would be nice to have a list of all anime watched, not just one top anime. Like for me it says 23, but not which those 23 were
@Thaliel exactly what I was thinking. I don not remember watching 7 movies this year but I do remember 2? Guess I’ll have to guess which they were looking at my list.

@thewiru
1. At this time, it looks like it might only be for Gnosia. I also have a favorite seiyuu that shows up there, but his character doesn't show up for me either. We will take a look!
2. You're right it's because of Cutie Honey Universe, since you added the entry last year. Even though it's on your dropped list, the system assumes that the 0 to 1 increased happened last year. You'd have to put at least an end year on the Finished Date (before 2025) so that her role won't show up in your Wrap-Up ^^
