I'm genuinely curious because I'm addicted to posting on here yet I keep getting banned so I guess I should be nicer? Or maybe I should quit posting on here to safeguard my account which was my initial plan but I'm getting bored and suicidal. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜’
Yeah anyway just tell me how to not insult people on MAL and lets see if we can make it work...

This would only make sense if I wait 5 minutes for every post I make. I'm mentally ill, hate comments are not the only thing that makes me insult people.

I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to make AI posts. And I don't like using AI it takes too long to load.

@deg I don't wanna fake it I just wanna filter out the posts that could get me banned and never post them.

Idk if this is against TOS since it isn't directed towards anyone but it's still sensitive and the mods are jumpy so I'd start with removing that or using a synonym.

In terms of arguing with others,ik where you are coming from. The best way is to either state your argument/viewpoint as non-aggresively as possible or to avoid "attacking" the other person directly, even if it doesn't feel right or you wanna say more.

A good idea would be to avoid people that you have had problems with before on here or that just seem to ragebait you, same goes for comments you might view as inflammatory.Although you can still reply as long as you self-censor and approach it in a cold manner.

Phrasing is the third part, although I already touched on it,the more detached the comment the less likely you are to say something antagonizing/bannable."Keep it to yourself" is the worst way to approach socializing but it's 2025 and if I add anything more to this here imma be staring at a potential warning myself so :D

TL;DR:Self-censor,as sad as it is.

You don't post... or...
You can always stop for a second, take a break (even for a few days if need be), think about what you're about to type, and then proceed-- or choose to just leave the conversation/not join the conversation in the first place. It's not like you always need to respond immediately. You have time to think about your words and how you think they'll be interpreted by readers. I would say "so there's no excuse", but honestly people can still misinterpret what you say and become insulted anyway. Sometimes there's no winning. However, a full on argument? It can stop with you. Something that might rub folks the wrong way? You do have time to consider that. Typing/Writing impulsively can definitely get someone into some mess. This has been the case, even before the internet.

We all make mistakes though, and despite what folks might think, we're all still learning. Good communication is learned, not an innate skill. It can take practice and a lot of thought, so I think it's great that you're not permanently banned. You've posted this thread, so it seems like you're willing to learn more about yourself and get to the best form of yourself that you can. More mistakes will come, and that's fine. I believe in you though and wish you well. Good luck.

Well, you usually insult someone when you disagree with them. It doesn't happen in my case, because I never completely disagree with anyone, and the reason for that is because I don't think that my opinion is correct. And since my opponent's opinion is more or less equal in its value to mine, it cannot be completely wrong or completely right.

Yeah, that's nothing more than just sophistry, but it does help me out.

Spend some time on other websites to put into perspective how good we have it on the MAL forums by comparison. It's very rare to see someone here that actually makes me annoyed enough to the point where I'd want to insult them or their opinions, even though it does happen and there have been times where I too act unnecessarily rude

And realistically you're not gonna change someone's opinions anyways so what do you even gain from being confrontational and hostile? It might make your ego feel good for a bit, and trust me there are times where I too want to call out dumb posts in a harsh way. But it comes at the expensive of making the forums more unpleasant for everyone, including yourself in the long run since it will turn this relatively nice forum into yet another twitter or 4chan where everyone is super hostile all the time

@Zarutaku Humans are so greedy when you don't share, haha. They invent all kinds of the excuses for banal jealousy. Annoying trait, I know. If I was a god, I would put this flaw into a proper container, such as loli. God, this world could be such a beautiful place if you gave that role to me rather than Jim Carrey...

Well just don't tehehe, I think that you have to remember that you shouldn't pay attention to people provoking you, remember that this is a place aimed for teens and young adults who think that is fun to troll and do bad stuff on internet, pay them no attention, that just shows that you are better than them, because you are, the fact that you are now trying to change speaks a lot of you and that is good, dogs will always bark

now in the other hand, if you are the one that gives out free insults out of nowhere, well, just don't tehehe

@Zarutaku Back in the days we shared a lot. But she is flawed, she falls in love. I don't. So, we have some disputes. Not g99d. Whatever.

@Lentus1 I always liked seeing your takes on things since they came from such a different culture and perspective than most other posts here. It's sad to see you deciding to post less but I also get it that it's not fun to feel like you're constantly having to walk on eggshells and having to worry about if you're offending someone with every word. It's exhausting

@NS2D I just feel shook from being banned multiple times in the span of like two months, so if I stay unbanned for a couple of months or more then maybe I'd feel more comfortable and post like how I used to.

@Lentus1 I'm speculating but it probably has a lot to do with if the mods see you as a consistent problem maker. If your name constantly shows up in reports and in controversial threads then yeah, they'll probably be more unforgiving towards you even when you're not really doing anything wrong

Speaking from experience, I've bee one ban away from permaban multiple times. It was deserved - well, the users I was insulting would have deserved the bans too and did not get them, but that's another story, from another era, back when MAL was very different...
People who tell you "others are too sensitive" or "it's censorship" are wrong, misguided, or would rather not upset you than tell you the truth. From what I could see, you definitely deserved the bans you got. The way you interact with people is often unsufferable, and you only do so because people can't grab you and give you a good shake online. Don't do that.

Like view them as below garbage, view them as the rot that appears under the log in the woods, view them them so lowly that they are not worth the time and effort.

Yep. I've been online for a long while now and while MAL definitely has some issues, almost every other public forum is so much worse (take a trip over to resetera). I do miss the unfiltered internet of the 2000s and would like it if mods on all sites would stop treating the job so serious.

Also, if I really wanna just go unfiltered and have at it, 4chan is right there. Also I can at least talk loli's there.

Anonymity gives people the freedom to insult and talk about all kinds of weird pedo/incest stuff that they'd never dare say irl, because they'd instantly be called a creep... ironically, the internet acts like a mirror, revealing that the version of ourselves we show online often reflects who we truly are on the inside

Other than that, OP, unironically find God or go through intensive anger management therapy. Not the same in effects nor essence but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Don't worry about it too much. You can always make a new account. Matter of fact, this isn't my first MAL account. I still have username and password for the previous one, but forgot its mail. Due to MAL having gotten haxx0red they require the mail for some security theater, though. So I just made a new account.

As a god, I've no need to insult people. I bless them with a response, which is what they wished for and I am a god who grants wishes. I also believe that the sole motivation for making "shit posts" is for sexual gratification and there's nothing wrong with that. So you see, there's no need for a superior being to insult people for their inept and incompetent posts as it results in getting banned and them getting to laugh at you.
