A timeskip definitely wasn’t on my bingo board, but man, it really drives home the fact that it’s all over. But even a timeskip can't stop the show's biggest villain from making an appearance... PATHOS! This time, though, Raidou's the one saving sensei from the pathos instead of causing them. Well, mostly because Aharen and Raidou just happened to apply to the same school that sensei used to attend, and ofc they do their usual Aharen-Raidou thing right in front of her... triggering her pathos all over again xD

Felt like we should’ve gotten the graduation at the beginning of the episode, not in the middle, especially with the start basically spoiling the whole thing lol. Still, that rooftop moment was really touching. For all the laughs and giggles this show gives, when it wants to be emotional, it really is. And knowing this is the last time we’ll see these characters makes it hit even harder. It was nice to see everyone get their happy endings, not just the main couple, but let’s be real, our main couple got the happiest one of all… they got married <3

P.S. Raidou fucking rocks that mustache in the future. But yeah, was fitting we ended how we started... with the indecipherable Aharen finally opening up to someone... Raidou, that is. Will miss this show dearly, but all things considered, this was a great conclusion.

This was kind of a wild ending not gonna lie, lol ... like yes, everything good, all the happy endings, even Ishikawa turned into a smooth operator in the end (took him a good while). But damn, Raidou on an expedition on Mars ? xD

Also, not children but straight up theyve got a grandchild, lmao.

Raidou's first name is Shota.

So this was the big finale after all. Take back what I said last week. This episode definitely managed to put one on top with crazy curveballs.

I certainly didn't expect such a BIG time skip. I thought Raidou would aspire to become a teacher, but a novelist who published their story or astronaut on Mars? That caught me even more off guard than thinking he died(the devilery of the fake out gag made it a great gag tbh haha) Let's not even talk about the moustache xD Him and Aharen teaching would've had serious spin off potenial. Optionally, I would also take them living as grandparents in a similar way to the Jiisaan Baasan Wakagaeru series(just without them becoming young again)

Never seen Aharen as expressive as this

Kora kora kora kora

Lmao, just when you thought sensei would be safe after Aharen and Raidou graduating, they came back and thrn there's Futaba to cause more esteem erruptions. These teachers will never catch a break xD

Esteem juices is an insane term

From the proposal, the marriage, Aharen calling Raidou Shota and a grandchild, there was quite lot going on in this finale(and it was pretty much all over the place) Gotta sort out my thoughts a bit. I only wished the Ishikawa x Satou ship would've had more screen time throughout the run, aside from that I absolutely loved it. Shit hit pretty hard in the feels.

The "full circle" moment at the very end was beautiful. Legit, "How I fell in love with your grandpa" or "How I met your grandpa" would be a cool alternate title for this series, lol. Went back to episode 1 of S1 to rewatch their interaction from Raidou's pov. I only now realized that it was titled "Isn't this too close?" while the title of this finale was "Seriously, isn’t this too close?
What a fantastic way to wrap the whole story up. The ED this season is such a vibe.

Bumped it up to a solid 9/10 for me

Favorite rom com in recent years

As satisfying as it is when favorite anime are blessed with a wonderful conclusion, the slight sadness of having to say goodbye remains. Making it always bittersweet.

What an amazing finale
Really beautiful to see Raidou and Aharen did stay together and get married and even have a child together and with everything coming full circle at the end it was just perfect. I am really going to miss this show so much.

Oh wow, Raido working as an average property inspector, dealing with quite the "villain" surveyor?

That said, it's quite the timeskip for both Raido and Aharen in their old grandparent days, where memories of school are now replaced by the gang becoming adults, and both Futaba and Akkun being Tobaru-sensei's newest couple challenge lol. And Henzan being proud of him since it's been 5 years since he graduated from high school and being a bona-fide teacher, and Aharen teaching art after she came back from her dream.

The development of their high school years was quite the moment to remember right before their graduation, even for Riku and everyone else receiving Raido's handwritten letters as a sign of thanks. However, Aharen's letter of reply that she's going to chase her art dream by breaking up with Raido, amplified by the fleeting feelings of regret and his feelings of being apart from her, he'll find a way to overcome thay gap, and get married to one another if they do. Of course, the wedding prep is handled by Hanako and Ishikawa, but I NEVER EVEN EXPECTED THEM to get proposed to each other too, much more than the main couple themselves reaching that point of harmony.

Raido being everything that he wants to be, and Aharen supporting him throughout, it's great to see how far the both of them have come. From that small interaction which Aharen chugged it off, to Raido just talking to him, the small sparks of love formed by her getting closer to him with her thanks.

OOH LALA this ending is BETTER than I expected, though it's obvious it's the finale after all.

Didn't expect that timeskip.....with them as grandparents. That took decades. What a distant finale.

But wow, I'm so happy to see Aharen & Raidou get married. YEESS!!!! Bless these two. 😭 And Ooshiro's dream of styling Aharen's hair before the wedding, the dream came true. Even Ishikawa proposed to Satou! Damn, about time. And I thought it was gonna end up as unrequited love but so glad these two also got their own happy ending together. 😭

What a wonderful ending! I couldn't ask for anything better! I'm so happy about this series and this final episode was the best thing to happen to this series. I love this show a lot and I'm going to miss it. It's over, but it's still such a beautiful finale. Truly, they all lived happily ever after. :')

NO ITS OVER, GODDAMNIT.

Wasn't expecting such a huge timeskip but it works. I wasn't expecting Raido to have fricking superpowers, but it works. Seeing Futaba in highschool feels so weird. It really does show that it's almost over. I wasn't expecting TWO proposals in an episode but it was so good. Raido proposing was great and FINALLY, Ishikawa and Satou got together,. I was wondering when they were doing to get together. Raido with that mustache goes so hard, he would be an awesome grandpa. Aharen and Raido getting married was destined to happen, I'm really happy that they got married and are happy together. I'll really miss every character in this anime. It was a really fun ride, with all the laughs and really dumb moments sometimes.

I will really miss this show.

OMG, ending with a wedding and grandkids??! This is the sort of shit every romance fan dreams of for their series. Makes all the ups and downs worth it and I can confidently say we had the perfect ending here. Could not ask for more. We even got a side couple engagement 😭 perfection, but God I’ll miss Raido and Reina

I wanted to jump thru the screen when Reina was having her little breakdown thinking Raido wouldn’t want to be with her once he got to university, girl that boy loves you more than anything. He ain’t going anywhere lol. I WASN’T EXPECTING A PROPOSAL THERE THO?!! S/O to ishikawa and the others for recording it and saving that for their actual wedding!!

The wedding was so beautiful and I love how Aharen remembered her promise to Oshiro to let her do her hair for the ceremony!! But that timeskip after that was wild, I didn’t have Raido going to fucking mars on my bingo board 😂 the manga story being a novel in this universe is so sweet too. Love how it all came full circle in the ending. Perfect. I’m gonna miss this so much ❤️

That's quite an abstract ending, Raido's possibility is endless, a teacher, a novelist, an astronaut, it's almost a fever dream episode.

But there's one thing that's very grounded to a reality, a cruel reality IMO, is Ishikawa's ending. I respect his choice and of course it's a win for bisexual representation, but I just can't force myself to feel happy about this outcome.

It’s over and without a doubt, this was an exceptional season. That finale just sealed the deal. An impeccable anime with great characters, both main and supporting, hilarious comedy, and solid references. Aharen and Raido might be an unusual couple, but they’re super compatible and both went through a lot of development that led to this beautiful ending. Raido may be a bit spaced out, but he’s definitely a main character worthy of the title. The ending delivered everything(from friendship to romance to marriage) and wrapped it all up perfectly. Solid 10/10, no question.

I wasn't ready for a timeskip of this size, I must admit, but it did make for a really heartwarming finale. The gag at the start of Raidou being a land surveyor and taking down evil enemies was amusing, but after that, things progressed one after another.

Both Raidou and Reina became teachers at the same school that they were students at, where the likes of Futaba is now a student there with her close friend, which I found rather cute. It did take a worrying turn when Reina wanted to end their relationship, but Raidou stepped up and won her over with a marriage proposal. Not only that, but later on with a smaller time skip, I was VERY happy that Ishikawa and Satou finally got together as well, which probably had me smiling the strongest here.

So not only did we get a sweet wedding between Raidou and Reina, but the complete timeskip has then as grandparents, with Madoka, their grandchild, wanting to know more about how the two of them got together, which was rather sweet. One thing I didn't expect was Raidou to take on a job involving him going to Mars. His moustache was unexpected, but it suits him.

Overall, I think I'll settle with an 8/10. This series stays true to being cute and fun throughout its whole duration. It doesn't do anything new for this type on genre, but it always succeeds in leaving a smile on my face with each episode and that's all you need, sometimes. =)

But damn, they skipped so much stuff, more than enough for a 3rd season in fact. So I have mixed feelings, and after yesterday news about the new "Kaguya-sama..." anime, I'm feeling that one is getting an even more rushed treatment.

Raido and Aharen choosing the path of a teacher sure was nice. And back at their alma mater as well too. Looks like Futaba and Akkun have become the next gen source of causing nosebleeds for Tobaru sensei. Sending everyone letters on their graduation day sure was a interesting last gift. Grad day is always such a surreal moment. But really makes you appreciate the bonds and friends you made. Ishikawa sure sprung quite the surprise for Sato. The wedding was beautiful. That last part showing how Reina and Raido first met was cute. An excellent end to the series.

Wrapping it all up instead of another season. Sad. I would have like to have seen a 14+ season of their young adult romance and then one of their marriage, even if it had to be mostly anime original. Oh, the blushes Reina would have given us. Would have been vastly better that 5 years apart and then here we are no change.

" ... esteem juice."
The teachers their never change.

Futaba and Akkun are much less irritating as high schoolers.

Our best fan service outside the beach episode: Raina's face between Mitusiki's breasts, and then Reina and Matsuboshi in wedding gear.

Teacher, property inspector, novelist, astronaut, and likely every other one of his dreams, and never once lost his cool, not even at the most critical juncture in his life, responding to Reina's letter.

The show is so sweet and wholesome, that it is almost toxic to my Evil Overlord sensibilities. I feel like Maomao micro dosing puffer fish toxin when I watch it

well damn, just like with the rest of the show this one is totally all over the place. i read in this thread that Ishikawa is bi? oookay, i did NOT see that coming till the ep here in S2 when he and Satou had that moment where they went through all her feelings and how he doesn't return them... i just had that inkling that he was gay and not into her as a girlfriend... and Ishi had a mancrush on Raidou and did the gentlemanly thing and kept it to himself to support Raidou/Reina. but immediately after thinking THAT i had the 'no wait but what if he likes Reina or some OTHER girl that got cut out of the anime?' so i just set that whole thing aside till Ishi proposed to Satou... now THAT made me rethink everything! annd i still don't get it. :/

ok, Raidou takes a year off then gets into college. ahh that explains the 5-year timeskip between graduation and Rai/Na hooking up again. hugs at home? were the two shacking up somehow BEFORE she surprised him by getting a job at his student-teacher assignment? obviously she being 1 year ahead of him in college has already graduated and gotten her teaching creds. but both of them choosing their old HS... hmm... shrug... he is probably going to be a very interesting and creative teacher. i wonder if Reina wears a body mic and uses speakers around the classroom? then he gets into publishing novels? some get movie versions? ook! then he somehow gets onto a Mars manned mission?

yeah, this episode really REALLY bounced all over the place in the worst ways. Raidou rockin that stache! i like it! Atsushi/Futaba being in Raidou's class and not recognizing him was strange. Raidou's stache and that's it, Reina didn't get a single design change at all, even as a gramma.

this finale was not good enough. both Seasons have been a hoot, but to end the franchise with this episode? no. not good enough.

I can't believe this silly comedy ended up getting me all emotional with the ending, a full generational time skip showing their grandchild, and lol they got me with that moment saying that Raidou was with the stars haha, I'm also glad that we got to see Ishikawa and Satou together, for some reason it completely flew over my head that he may have liked Raidou, I'm a bit sad we didn't get to see Riku after all those years when even Akkun and Futaba were shown as students.

Wow they really crammed so much into the finale. That was wild jumping from one thing to another. Raidou really went back to school as a student teacher and killed both senseis lol. Reina was there too. He's now an astronaut and on mars bruh, that sure escalated fast. Heck we skipped their children and went to their grandchildren. Lil thing looks like Raido's lil sis and is voiced by Yuuki Aoi lol. Also yo Ishikawa x Hanako ship sailed too, that was neat. Happy for everyone. Thought I'd be emotional watching this episode but I felt joyful instead, really good stuff.

And so we end with a glimpse into the future.

Boy I wasn't expecting that! At first I thought maybe it was just a movie the class was making or something but no, it really had that sense of finality. So that scene between Ishikawa and Sato from a couple episodes back that felt so out of place and depressing was in service to the joyful resolution as depicted here eh? Man, how cheap and emotionally manipulative...but I'll allow it lol. Anywho this season was another 8/10. Tamanaha-san was a solid addition to the cast. I'm honestly not sure though which season I preferred. I'm sad to see it end, but at least we got a suitably happy ending. :)

I think several us thought that Raido was dead when Aharen told her grandkid that grandpa was up in the sky... but luckily he was literally on Mars, wow. On that note I wasn't expecting a massive time skip and I mostly liked it except we didn't see how many kids they had, only that they have at least one grandkid.

It was nice seeing the kids that were in the playground grown up in high school and them causing a new esteemed challenge for the teacher haha. Also I believe that the rest of Aharen's and Raido's friends were shown a little older except for Riku.

I was going to rate this the same score I gave S1 (a 7) but I ended up liking this season a little more and I also liked that this had a conclusive ending. 8/10

Okay, wait. Where's my yuri arc with the imouto-yo? It's not like I watched the second season just for that, but I was told that two seasons would definitely not be enough to adapt the entire manga from start to finish. But anyway, it was pretty wholesome and warm. Especially the peculiar twist at the end. I kept thinking it was someone's dream, it was all so fabulous, lmao. I even already started to miss this cute weirdos somehow.

@MomoSinX I absolutely disagree that it sucked, but I was surprised that they literally threw out an entire arc with their little sisters' potential romance. Yeah, the author himself seemed to give up on developing it, but it was too rude.

@Marinate1016 I feel bad that I teased you so hard about the yuri arc this season but they just cut it out for the time skip and ending of the whole story lmao.

@Herman97 She either voices cute or weird characters. But in this case, her cameo itself is cute and weird, lmao.

Choosing between a verbatim adaptation but without the ending and between an adaptation that skips a chapter for the sake of the ending, I will of course choose the second and, yes it turned out great, although it's a shame they didn't screen the moment from chapter 165 where their whole life was shown in one shot and yes, in the end Raido should have run for president, after flying into space, seriously a jack of all trades.

I guess I'm not the only one who was confused at how the ep began 😂😅
From the change in the aspect ratio, we can get that it was a movie and what's more shocking is that it's Raido's story which has got adapted into a movie.. dude's a novelist now and even made a mission to Mars possible 😭😭
Raido has proved that he is capable of doing anything..🫡🫡
And the most shocking thing of all is that Reina and Raido are grandparents lol
And Reina aged like a fine wine or she hasn't aged at all lmao that little granddaughter of them Madoka was so cute 💖✨
I wish we had seen their sons or daughters as well.
We got a lot of things in this episode. In the school , we got Akkun and Futaba doing enough damage through their esteem to Tobaru sensei lol
Of all the esteem moments so far, this episode got the best ones when Henzan and Tobaru got knocked down at the same time.😂🤣🤣
The wedding was quite beautiful. Oshiro became a hair stylist as she wanted..❤️❤️ I wonder what Tamanaha was doing with her future. I hope she's not just making friends and creating moments all this time 😂 Aharen in a wedding dress 😘😘and Raido was so handsome as well. So glad that Ishikawa finally came to his senses and proposed to Sato. Best couple ❤️❤️💯
And when Raido proposed to marry Aharen in the future during their graduation, Reina for the first time called him by his name, Shota. And that's probably one of the first time we heard his name as well, I guess 😅😅
The title of this episode being the same as the one of the first ep of season 1 was a nice touch.
The way the things ended is just what I would expect from a indecipherable show with indecipherable idiots like Aharen and Reina 😄😄❤️
I wanted to talk about so many things but I Just can't find the right words.
I'm gonna miss this anime so much.

Time-skip endings in series like this are always bittersweet, on one hand it’s nice to see that they lived a long life together, but on the other it hurts to see these characters grow up, become adults and move on with their lives, you’re supposed to be un-aging anime characters dammit, you aren’t supposed to grow up lol. And there were also some parts I wasn’t a big fan of, like Raido leaving Aharen to go to Mars (although that is something Raido would do lol) and skipping so far ahead to not just children, but grandchildren, but despite these two things I still thought this was a great finale for the anime series.

I especially liked the flashback scenes here over the time skip ones, like the graduation and when Raido and Aharen met at the school as adults, those felt like what I would have wanted more out of the ending, same with the wedding and the full circle moment at the very end where we got Aharen’s inner thoughts from when her and Raido first met at the start of the series, I thought that was a fantastic way to end it. But the most surprising part? Ishikawa and Satou getting together after all, they really got us on that initial rejection lol, it kinda makes me wonder what the point was to putting it off till now but I like what it means, like maybe things with the person you wanted to be with at first didn’t work out, but the one that you’re actually meant to be with was right in front of you the whole time, it does make you feel a bit for Ishikawa but I believe he will be truly happy with Satou, and I’m happy for her too.

And that was it for Season 2 of Aharen-san, I say this a lot but man I’m sad it’s over already, those of us that were there when Season 1 aired waited all this time for Season 2 but the episodes went by quickly and we have no more once again, and for good this time too because I don’t think we’re getting anymore with an ending like that sadly, and that really is a shame after hearing about how there was a 3rd season’s worth of content that was skipped, but at the same time I can appreciate that we got a proper ending for the anime instead of leaving it unfinished for a 3rd season that may not have ever happened, and it was a good ending too so I can’t complain too much lol. We really had a lot of good times with Aharen, Raido and the rest of the gang once again, and we met some new fun characters along the way like Tamanaha and Henzan, everyone played a role in making this another great season. And the OP and ED were great follow-ups to Season 1’s songs, I think both of the originals still come out on top for me but these new ones are very close behind them, really nice choices indeed. And I’d say I want a Season 3, but it looks like this is all folks, maybe I’ll check out the manga one day to see what was skipped but for now I’m saying goodbye to this series again, thanks for the laughs!

One thing I did see him becoming was an astronaut who travels to Mars. Damn that fake out, I thought he had passed away! LOL

WAIT WHAT? It's over already?! 😱. Thought there would much more content to show before concluding the series

Aharen and (Shota) Raidou are such a wholesome couple, all the characters make the show so calming to watch. I'll especially miss Tamanaha and the teacher interactions with the duo.

I assume there is alot more material that was skipped as they introduced a couple characters with barely any screentime. But I do kinda respect the decision to end here and now.

The ending felt abrupt, but somehow oddly fitting in a way. Either way, I still really enjoyed the journey to get there.

This was such a good way to end off this anime, and this episode was just as good as the last, infact even better?! The timeskip is great and it gives you a good conclusion to work off of. I do wish we got to see more of what happens with Ishikawa and Satou, because I loved their scene together.

Overall, I think that was a really sweet way to end it off! I'll miss this show.

@phantomfandom

I totally agree because for me, that proposal had no romantic core. I still don't think he has any romantic feelings for Satou or that he's attracted to her. It came off more like he proposed to his ever present bestie because he couldn't be with the person he really wanted to be with nor could he be free to openly be who he truly is, so he decided to settle. It's sad because I don't think this choice would ultimately lead to happiness for either of them.

I didn't realize on the first watch of season 1, but I believe Ishikawa and Satou were trying to figure out if Raido and Reina were dating from the beginning because Ishikawa was crushing on Raido and Satou knew that from the beginning and was acting as his "wing woman". I'm sure that's why she was never bothered about confessing to him because she always knew he was gay.
