I prefer Nana and Nobuo, they seem more natural.

but he treats her differently than other women, what he really wants is a family and he is aware of that having a family can happen only with Hachi, but of course yeah I can't understand the thing mainly between Reira and Takumi but when he gets back to home he becomes totally different and gentle man, I think he actually goes back and forth between his work and the people in it on the otherside his home. his personality changes. Maybe it is to escape from whatever he feels about Reira. I don't know but actually I like very similar guy like Takumi not as much as he is of course, so then this may be the reason why I support Hachi and Takumi, I prefer the difficulty... Maybe I am a fool but you can't choose the person to love, right=)

whatever don't listen to me, I said a lot that is not about the manga=)

I don't doubt that Takumi has feelings for Hachi, and that he does care for her. But he has a powerful connection to Reira. There is history there. There is also at least one other woman that he sees on a regular basis and obviously has feelings for. In that case, I don't think that he is the best person for Hatchi.

And actually, it's interesting that you compare your Hatchi/Takumi fandom to your real-life situation. Because the guy I married is a lot like Nobu. XD So maybe I relate to Hatchi/Nobu best because I see a reflection of myself and my husband in that relationship.

We've been together for seven years and married for three, by the way :D So I dunno, I think I would support "natural" relationships over superficial ones (I'm not saying that your situation is superficial--I don't know anything about your situation, so I can't say anything about it--but I feel that Hatchi's relationship with Takumi is superficial).

Ren is takumi child. while this whole accident happen hachi will give birth to Sa-chan and sleep with takumi and have Ren before they actually break up.

Yes, little Ren is Takumi and Hachi's child, and Satcuki's brother. I rather think twin brother. Hachi didn't wanted to know the sex of the baby, so the doctor didn't tell her that she will have twins.

I've been thinking the same thing. Twins, they seem to be of the same age. Because she would have to get pregnant almost immediately after her birth to have the second child so near in age. I just don't see that happening at all. Not with the way their relationship is heading.

You guys are forgetting that Takumi slept with Reira while Hachi was still pregnant. Ren could very well be Reira's son, which would explain why he was in England with Takumi and Reira.

*edit*

and it would also explain why he looks like Shin a little bit :> but that's getting into some weird theories.

I suppose you could be right but I really don't think thats the case. In chapter 74 when Naoki suggests letting Ren stay in London, Takumi replies that Nana is going to want to take him back during summer break. Naoki then comments back on Ren's hardships because of is parents. Then some pages ahead Ren refers to Reira as Reira and Takumi as daddy within the same breath. Why would he speak of his father with that kind of endearment but not his mother, if thats the case? Even the way Reira speaks of Ren later in the same chapter. It doesn't seem as though she's speaking of her own child.

It isn't just that but other chapters as well that mention Ren. They're still vague enough that what you say could be possible. I just think it's unlikely is all. I guess we'll have to wait and see though. ^_^

well yes maybe you are right, I got confused all the week and now I am reading your post, all the things get cloudy again... maybe you are right natural relationships are better, because superficial ones begin to make me tired... guys like Takumi don't change whatever you do, or whatever feelings they have, they only thinks best for themselves, seems caring but not showing, maybe it is time for me to search my Nobu in my life=)

by the way, you are one lucky woman that you have a guy like Nobu for 7 years, I hope it lasts forever=)

What I understand about that comparison to Santa is like they're speaking of 2 things that don't exist, but Hachi could still believe in. Kinda like saying 'Ren mailed this to me' would be the same as 'Santa mailed these to me'. Or maybe even 'Daimaou mailed these to me'. Am I making any sense here?

well of course you are right, but Yasu's reply "maybe so" here makes Shin surprised, maybe both Yasu and Hachi knows something or suspicious about something, I don't know, I think that because of this conversation maybe there will be a surprise that will make us happy...

Omg, I Can't accept ren's dead, but It seems a fine episode very realistic, but I don't like the drama about the death in birthday's nana, It seems like a soap opera.

After all, I think, Nana will want only to see the face of hatchi, she is the only one who is her "familiar" by the conecction in their friendship (like sisters?) well.

If this chapter would have a ending (anime), it will be (i think) 78 (first part): the song "Winter Sleep"
[It keeps coming back to me, I remember this pain
It spreads across my eyes
Everything is dull...]

And the 78 (second part): the song: "Kuroi Namida"
[I can't count the nights
When I've hoped tomorrow won't come...
I've lost my dreams and my love
Lashed by the rain
I'm crying , crying crying...]

Well I think that those songs fit at all with the chapters.

I hope that NANA and Hatchi will meet because they will need each other.
Great episode.

that's all.

Seems like Reira lost whatever little sense she had in her head after Ren's death. I also suspected little Ren as Reira's and Takumi's, and I still have that suspicion. Why would little Ren love spending more time in London, playing guitar for Reira than being with his sister and mother? Here's my theory:

Reira went nuts after Ren's death, was pregnant [thanks Takumi or possibly Shin...], gave birth but she is nuts. Including little Ren, who knows this is his mother, just look at the way he gazes at her http://www.onemanga.com/Nana/70/21/

Because of this, little Ren was raised with Sa-chan, as Hachi's own. Takumi is a selfish bastard. He could have let Hachi be happy with Nobu knowing full well that in the end, he would chose Reira above everyone else. That's why he is in London with her instead of with Hachi. If they do divorce, I hope Nobu and Hachi happens.

Poor Nana though :ccc

I didn't think Ren would actually be killed off, but I thought wrong. T ^ T

He was killed by fame and fate haunting him, slippery snow on the way to his mothertown and Nana-black cat narcotic delusion.

There’s no way this will end happily now…

The only possible happy-end we have left is Nana reuniting Hachi and co. They will meet of course, but their future relationship is still vague.

I really don't know what to say. I knew Ren would die eventually, but now it happened, it's so hard to believe. It's like he will come back later, even they saw his corpse but I still can't believe. Actually I couldn't read for a while, just closed the page and cried. Ren shouldn't have died, it's so... Argh! I think I hate Ai Yazawa now. Why did she do that? Really, it's really hard to read from now on. It makes me feel depressed. -_-" I don't think manga will end happily now unless Ren returns which is impossible.

FUCK. I had a bad feeling from the start when it came to Ren, since he basically looks like a prettier version of Sid Vicious. And then when it turns out Ren was the name of Takumi's kid, oh it was too obvious then. I was hoping that I was wrong. FUCK FUCK FUCK.

I cried so much. Ren was brought up in some of the future chapters, so I didn't see it coming... I thought he would just be in a coma or something, not dead. I can't believe it. Just... wow. I never thought a manga would make me feel this way. I cried pretty much throughout but it really got me when Yasu started crying.

Even with all the foreshadowing it was still heartbreaking to see it finally happen. Especially now when Nana is already feeling hopelessly alone :(

I guess the moment I realized Ren was going to die was when I realized the Ren in the future was not the same Ren as from the past. Usually when a child is named after an adult it is to honor their memory.

I think lil Ren is Hachi and Nobu kid cuz his hair look blonde and who else have blonde hair beside Nobu. Also when Hachi ask about lil Ren on the phone Takumi look irritated and hang up on her. I think he is still mad at her for having a kid with Nobu that's why his is cold to her in the future, and Hachi friend also mention that they should get a divorce. Even though Takumi accepted that kid, doesn't means he forgive Hachi.

;____; Started crying because of Hachi. The guilt of knowing that she could have stopped the death of her best friend's lover- her feeling responsible for that. It's a huge weight to bear. Then started crying harder when I saw Shin crying in that position right before Hachi ran to embrace him. Teared up more seeing Nobu and Takumi seeing his body and that his body was destroyed because of the impact. Then upon seeing them meet up with Nana, Yasu crying and then Nana saying that time stopped for her right before she turned 21. Her lover died the night before her birthday. Her life has really sucked. ;___; Now I'm wondering how their last conversation was again.

I love this series, it's so real.

The build up to Yasu telling Nana.O was so great I can get past the "Nobuo heard a song~" thing that could have ruined the previous moment when Takumi received the call.
The reactions from Hachi to Reira, were all heartbreaking, but with Yasu's, it was hard not to tear up, that kid he tried to protect it's gone :/
