I have no idea. He removed the symbol from has back, so I'm going to take a guess and say he's pretending to be a part of their group.

I agree. Makes me so curious as to what he's scheming by pretending!

The whole spider thing was a good reminder that there are other characters in this series whose stories are yet to be finished...

Hmm, from what it seem he is NOT from the Spiders, since that is a fake tattoo. I bet he will be more than a villain, you know, one of those character that will be there even after defeating the heroes defeat the main villains and their evil organizations...

Very nice fight. The end was hilarious "oh sorry I meant my right" ;D

Hisoka is an amazing villain. Definitely one of my all time favourites.

I don't think Hisoka is a member of the troupe, since he removed his tattoo. He is just pretending to be a part of their group. I wonder what he did with the real Troupe #4 though? He probably killed him.

I never really got to enjoy this fight in this version, since the quality of the video I first watched was quite choppy, sadly...

And that's how Hisoka finally fell in love. Heaven's Arena is probably the first arc where I completely prefer the remake. This one cut out way too much which is kind of disappointing considering all of the filler during the Hunter Exam. Hisoka's orgasm moment in this version was pretty underwhelming too, but maybe I've just been spoiled rotten with Namikawa Daisuke's performance.

There it is. There's the Hisoka who creeps and loves. (On Machi as well??)

He's nowhere near as extravagantly repulsive as in the remake but he is still pretty gross. ♥︎

Huh. Cannot remember for the life of me whether they fought each other asap. Thought Hisoka was the last these kids saw of Heaven's Arena?? But now the nen rejects.

I wanted to enjoy this episode. The fight portion was interrupted too much by flashbacks to Gon and Killuas's training with Wing. I really don't enjoy all the explanations of how these techniques work. I find myself just tuning out during those moments.

Why the heck would you reveal that it is a fake tattoo right off the bat ?! That's supposed to be one of the climax for the next arc, so underwhelming with what is to come. This arc was just full of terrible directorial choices... Let's hope they don't fuck the next one.

Interesting how things are turning out. Just when I thought I had Hisoka pinned, he takes off another mask and the story exciting again.

The Nen explanations are confusing to follow, though.

A fantastic battle I must say, even though it was obvious Gon was going to lose, he still put up a good fight! Either way quite loved the whole episode, looking forward to see what's next.

That was an amazing fight! Gon still need to train his nene and more to defeat Hisoka, obviously.

Seems like Hisoka is pretending to be a member of the Spider? York Shin City must be a real plot twisting arc by the looks of it...

What's up with that guy with the dog mask sitting next to Cocco the commentator, telling her all these unknown facts about the fighters?? x) Who is that supposed to be? I thought it might be a cameo by the author or a staff member or something like that, but haven't been able to find anything on the HxH wiki. Maybe it's just meant to be random and funny, but it anyone knows, please do share.

Edit: ha! Never mind. I found him: https://myanimelist.net/character/145702/__Togashi
So it was Togashi after all, just not credited as a voice actor! Sneaky guy.

So Hisoka pretends to be a member of the Phantom Troupe, I assume that woman who was with him is an actual member then.

Something kind of pissed me off about the conversation Gon and Hisaka had in the ring about Nen [at the beginning of the episode]. It’s that, it was completely audible to Killua, the Master, and the eyebrow kid. Even in the midst of all that yelling and cheering from the audience. Gon and Hisaka were having a quiet conversation far away and yet Killua from the stands could hear every word of their conversation. As unrealistic and distracting as this fact is, what’s worse is that Nen is supposed to be kind of secret, isn’t it? After all, someone in a famous, prestigious family like Killua didn’t even know what Nen was beforehand. And yet, if Killua can hear Gon’s Nen-related conversation from the stands, then literally every other person in the audience can to… probably potential fighters and combatants. Meaning Hisaka is carelessly revealing information to everyone in the stadium. And yet… I also feel like the female commentator isn’t going to pick up on any of this conversation, despite being even closer to the action. This is all what I’d call a fucking plothole.

Also, are stone tiles even allowed to be kicked up into the crowd? I know there are no rules to the nature of the fight, but how can a stadium like that be legal when it’s hazardous to the spectators? Unless each audience member signed a liability waver? Furthermore, the potentiality for the crowd to get injured would be a risk for the business’ revenue. At the VERY least, make it so a fighter gets penalized if they fling any projectiles outside of the ring.

6:28 Did anyone else notice that distinct clicking noise as Gon rolled around on the floor? Like his spine breaking or something lmfao

That analysis of Hisoka and Kastro was very helpful, this guy Wing is a really good teacher, I wonder how strong he is. Well, that fight was awesome, Hisoka getting excited/horny while receiving punches and kicks, showing his true fighting style, Gon needed to improvise and that final hit with the debris. Here’s were the Phantom Troupe enter, and this movement is gonna involve Kurapika, I think, for what we saw, Hisoka is not a real member, he just wants something.

Ah so I got the order messed up. The Kastro video analysis does exist in this version. Its pretty short though. I remember it being more thorough and really breaking down how Hisoka used his powers and what Kastro was doing beyond Killua just saying it and that being that.
