Fun episode but the idol stuff and animal fluff caught me off guard lol

Pecora getting more spotlight in this episode was not on my bingo card but I think it's cool that she got her moments. Always felt like she had an episode focused more on her this season.

Mofumofu was the main thing of the episode.
Also that birthday party was interesting in a way.
Asuza was the main attraction of the party.
Things turned into chaos as usual but it was enjoyable to watch.

Yet again Crunchyroll have messed up the subs for slime 300-nen. This seems to be the only show they mess up with every week and I don’t get it. Yea mistakes happen, but what am I even paying for 😭 if you want to be a serious streaming service this just can’t happen this often. You’re charging more than Disney and prime and they don’t have this issue.

At least our idol performance was surprisingly well animated lol. Pecora needs an idol spin off

Fox Azusa also moves me, she’s so freaking cute. This pecora x Azusa ship kinda has legs lol

That was even dumber than the lame beach episode. And I thought the animation was dismal. I nearly dumped this mid-episode. Sad to see this series dropping to such a low level.

A Pecora-focused episode, and I was really waiting for something like this to see my loli demon king's cute charm.

Poor Azusa got tricked by Pecora, and we got to see a cute and fluffy foxy Azusa. When she was eating Abura-age, she looked so cute. Not to forget the moment when Beelzebub grabbed her by the shoulder and told her she looks adorable. This gave off strong yuri vibes and was the best part of the show.

I knew something bad was coming for Azusa when Pecora invited only her to the birthday party lol
I was expecting Pecora do something more dirty but she just wanted Azusa to become 🦊 girl for the fluffiness πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
Now we know why Pecora is a demon king with such a huge fan base. If you do such a lovely idol performance for your people who wouldn't adore her πŸ€£πŸ˜‚β€οΈβ€οΈ
I really wanted to see Beelzebub's performance 😭😭

@joemaamah Quite honestly, I skipped the episode myself.

Between me not being a fan of Pecora acting like a Gadfly and the season's problems of certain characters not getting a chance to shine due the choice of which LN stories gets adapted this season, devoting a whole episode to Pecora's birthday (a story where Azusa is the only member of the main group with a prominent role in it) was a huge turn-off for me.

Nice getting a Pecora based episode, happy birthday to her. Probably my favourite character in the show.

I've seen tons of depictions of demon kings in animes and Pecora is definitely the most wholesome of them all, that being said she did technically drug Azusa so she isn't completely innocent

Time to go re-watch Senko-san.

A Yukarin insert was not on my 2025 bingo card. Crazy. She's 50 next year but still carries her pitch and tone like she's still in her early 20s. I dunno how she does it. Good training, good genes, good diet...probably all of the above.

Y'know, while I wasn't expecting a Demon King idol concert, I somehow feel like I should have been.

And of course she had ulterior motives in getting Azusa alone, but making her into a foxgirl is definitely one of the more wholesome outcomes that could have happened.

The whole running around uncontrollably searching for a specific food seems lost in translation though -- both to the audience and because it's just dumb to demand a food by Japanese name in a world where that's not a thing. At least describe what you're searching for. I wish they didn't waste so much episode time on this.

@Marinate1016 I feel like in general constant mistakes or issues like this is an increasing trend among anime. Though I've gotta say that crunchyroll's subtitle mistakes are among the worst of all, I find so many shows with either spelling issues, blatantly obvious mistranslations, or even just mistimed subtitles, it's not even funny anymore just annoying.

I also found prime to actually be worse than crunchyroll in most regards at least when it comes to anime streaming in NA. Half the shows were missing audio/subtitle tracks they should've had and some were even missing random seasons leaving gaps here and there. There was even one anime I tried watching where all the episodes were totally wrong and mislabled as being something else. On top of having a worse library there was just no reason not to use crunchyroll over prime.
I like to watch some anime, I like to talk about some anime, I dislike wars over some anime, but more than anything I love to live my life, anime is an enjoyable and entertaining addition onto my life but it's not my whole life.

This episode was pretty enjoyable, Pecora tried to steal the show for her birthday but in the end the desire for "Abura-age" won.

For all that she's a witch, Azusa really isn't up-to-date or alert about things that other witches are. Mandragora? duh-huh? Various suspicious mushrooms (on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, mind you!)? Ooh yummy! *scarf*

Always good for a laugh, but dang the girl be dumb. haha

Pecora has been a bit shafted with content this season, so a whole episode featuring her is welcome for me, well she kinda disappeared for a bit while Azusa went on her rampage but still it was mostly about Pecora lol. But yeah Pecora’s birthday party was a good time for the most part, she did a whole ass idol performance for her birthday which is very on brand for her, it was really cute too, I only wish we got to see the Beelzebub song lol, at least we got to see her in the cute outfit.

And I knew from the moment that Pecora fed Azusa meat with mushrooms on it that we were about to get some mushroom based shenanigans, although I wasn’t expecting a fox girl transformation lol, oddly wholesome considering Pecora’s nature, I approve. It’s just unfortunate that with this new fox form also came a craving for “abura-age”, this may have been funnier to a Japanese viewer because even as someone that’s well versed in anime, I’m not sure why Azusa wanted this specifically lol, but it sure was fun watching her run through the castle screaming for said food. And lastly, very nice to see a Kuku appearance in the short bit after the ED, I would have preferred it be in the episode itself but I’ll take what I can get, I’m happy that it looks like she hasn’t abandoned her original music style either.

@Mirality @TheColonel76 With that, the episode receives a third problem: the main joke of the kitsune Azusa portion of the episode (it being based on the legend that kitsune like deep fried tofu) is likely going to fly over the heads of viewers not familiar with Japanese mythology.

@TnAdct1 That’s just something that happens sometimes with anime, it’s made for the Japanese audience first and foremost so it’s on us if we don’t get the joke lol, thanks for the info on the legend tho, I learned something from Slime 300 today.

The demon lord taught the witch Azusa that an unusual potion could be brewed and out dragged a magnificent kitsune with the most magnificent tail, I think it's a good plot for a doujinshi based on this story.

A Pecora-dedicated episode, haha. She was hilarious the entire time, with her singing, dancing, and nonstop trolling of Azusa. But Azusa was just as funny, especially when she suddenly got this intense craving for some abura-age and ended up obliterating Pecora’s castle in the process, haha.

I’m not Japanese, so I honestly don’t know what abura-age is supposed to be. But wasn’t she just eating a slice of toast? Even Beelzebub said that. So yeah, I was just as confused as everyone in Pecora’s castle. I figured she was craving some kind of Japanese food, but I had no idea what exactly, haha.

Speaking of food, how does turning into a foxgirl make Azusa crave bread? Shouldn’t she be craving meat? I mean, foxes are carnivores, kind of like wolves. They're not as strong or fierce, sure, but we see them hunting sheep and stuff in fairy tales all the time. Welp, i guess it is what it is, haha.

Being a plant must be a pretty simple life. Pecora sure came in hard with her bribes lol. Her birthday party being a mini concert though was amusing. Though her seiyuu can defo pull it off easy. A fluffy Azusa huh lol. Azusa's solo rampage was damm impressive.

Pecora paying a visit to Azusa and the family, prepping gifts for each and every one of them, it's because she has a birthday party coming up. However, her requirement for having Azusa alone at that to spend time with her sister, the witch is OK for that...but the idol concert segment for a birthday show sure caught us off guard, that's for sure. That's how the demons party, except that Beezlebub didn't want nothing to do with it, yet gets seen by Azusa for further misunderstandings, how quaint. As the VIP guest, Pecora clearly is waiting for Azusa to enjoy alone with her to kickstart the birthday celebrations, though like the gnome-maker mushroom episode, Azusa finds herself being transformed into an animal no thanks to the fozform mushrooms.

The ulterior motive of Pecora to drool on Azusa aside, the sudden foxkin craving for abura-age (or just any food in general) gets the demons loose to stop her from destroying Vanzeld Castle, though nothing seems to work...until Beezlebub and Fatla came along to resist Azusa of the bean-made bilanwa. Too bad that the 4 lords weren't up to stuff stopping her, and since the effect doesn't go off for 5 days, Azusa can only find herself trapped in the fox state she's in until she turns back to normal.

Happy birthday Pecora...a really weird birthday party, this is one...

I did not expect an episode in which Azusa wasn’t with the girls, but Pecora does have a weird attachment to her as a “sister”. I put that in quotations because I think she likes her in a more intimate way.

Pecora has quite the voice, but then again I wasn’t generally interested in the song. I thought Pecora was gonna force Azusa to sing when she said duet, but it ended up being Beelzebub. Then the regular festivities of the party occurred and Pecora had a one on one dinner with Azusa.

The problem is that she did the equivalent of drugging Azusa by having her eat foxform mushrooms that turn her into a fox and because of the amount of them she ate, she’ll stay like this for 5 days. One consequence of this is that she craves something called aburage and claps everybody’s cheeks that try to stop her rampage, not knowing that Azusa is likely the strongest being in this world (from what I can gather since she’s never struggled in a fight after maxing out her level). It was funny in a sense, but it’s still problematic that Pecora drugged her for her own amusement. If she asked Azusa to do this, that would be acceptable.

Well, onto the hijinks of future episodes.

The birthday was really cute, and the idol performance as well. Azusa turned into a Foxperson and was running all around the castle looking for Abura-age. LOL. She defeated all the castle's defenses so easily. LOL. But, at least she was able to eat Abura-age. Good for her.
