They can catch the light for dramatic effect, or crack in the heat of battle when everything is on the line, or like with Mari here, played with to show a mischievous/seductive side.  The glasses happen to be my favorite part of her character design. That and the boobs. |

Yadoumaru Lisa is probably the best looking female character with glasses. Some replies seem to underestimate glasses effects, particularly for female characters. Another example from another battle shonen is Karin (Naruto). She is not much as a character, but she is pretty hot with glasses. |

As a glasses fetishist enthusiast myself, I would say that I like the characters better with glasses as they look more cute. I often like the type of characters that are often associated with glasses and it varies from shy, clumsy, confident, smart, mature, crazed otaku up to even plain janes. Glasses adds more visual attraction to the character and makes them look more adorable or hotter! Here are few of the characters with glasses that has struck me ever since.      Mariii  |

| well there was a chubby girl that i used to know. her booba and earth was big. she would try to wear fake glasses to look nerdy. even though her personality was far from my end of spectrum, i find myself tolerating her behavior even though it was a slow progress. so it's either that i have a hidden masochistic side or I still subconsciously think glasses girl is smart / nerdy despite the fact that they just have a less clear vision than average. on topic nothing quickly comes to mind but still I like them just fine in anime like when they becomes blind without it. |
