It doesn't conclude any plot, it feels separate from the play and much less does it feel like an ending.

70% of the runtime was a recap (no, I'm not kidding), there's forced conflict and it creates more questions than answers that will probably be never solved because this series sold pretty poorly in japan

lol wtf was that

Half of the 40 something minutes was a recap of the entire series.
Can't make that shit up-

And then it just completely went D&D on us.
Subverting our expectations to the max.

So the girls who all had it pretty bad got closer together to perhaps heal the loss they had endured.
Nah forget that shit.
So one was actually a robot.
And the other three distance themselves from each other.

Oh the rogue AI of the last 2 1/2 episodes?
Well she appears in a recap of a dream of the robot.
How can robots dream?
DONT ASK ANY STUPID QUESTIONS!

And so the robot sacrifices itself for... I have no clue.
The AI... well nothing.

The people who come back from the dead remember nothing, not even previous friendships.
10 out of fucking 10 points right there.

To top it all off: The girl our protagonist tried to save was an asshole who drove a teacher to suicide by claiming he had something with her.
100 out of 10 points right there

The entire show meant nothing.
What the girls did meant nothing.
What they experienced meant nothing.
What they learned meant nothing.

And so our protagonist goes back to do it all over again to meet the robot in another dimension.
Or whatever.

Hahaha.
Hahahaha.

Well, now I completely understand the outrage at this special.

I struggle to udnerstand the character assasination of Neiru.

I struggle to understand why the fuck would the writers introduce parallel worlds at the finale of the series, resolving nothing and only adding more to the mess of the plot this became in the end.

I struggle to understand who the fuck though this special was a good idea.

It would literally be better to leave the series with just 12 episodes and this never even existing.
You all need to watch Nami.

aaaaaaand once again another inconclusive, rushed ending just like episode 12. which makes this special episode pointless & unnecessary. Especially when half of it is recap.........
we learn something new though which is that Koito was a manipulative bitch and that in the end the teacher was innocent? lol
I think the worst of it is the revelation of Neiru not being human though, it adds absolutely nothing to the story and the whole Frill thing isn't resolved.

That ... was an odd choice on how to end the series.
I feel like it gave us more questions than closure.

Didn't help that at least half of the runtime was dedicated to ANOTHER recap of a 12 episode anime.

Very unsatisfying conclusion to what I found an interesting anime.

Total disaster for a weak anime itself. This studio made Persona 5 anime and was 'inspired' by it clearly so made this abomination where quirky monsters, complicated spirits of people and astral space are from Persona, the manner of fights themselves reminded me Kill la Kill, awful excuse 'parallel universes, son' is straight from Stein;Gate but minus development and following its rules clearly, and the whole 'scientific mystification' with autistic MC girl is straight from Serial Experiments Lain, also the egg theme is from Haibane Renmei obviously. So author just watched these anime and was 'inspired'.

Why is it so hard to write an ending? Just do a simple ending and it would be way better than this.
---> They all meet each other and fight together to killl this ai girl. After they defeated her, they are friends like before.

I don't see why this got so much hate this special episode wasn't really that bad. And why isn't it grouped in with Wonder egg priority on MAL its still the same season is it not? The first 24 mins or so were just a recap of the show so far and we learnt that Neiru is actually an AI? But she clearly showed so much human features such as emotion. She was such a cool character and she disappeared. Did things actually end up worse off for the girls because of this? like Koito doesn't know her anymore and so did the other girls friends act like they knew her. It's like the bad ending but its still a good ending story wise. this episode is way too hated. Good episode Amazing Show. Season 2 PLS!

Combining this level of psychology with such not really well explained sci-fi elements and I'm starting to see where all the confusion this anime wraps itself in is coming from. Rewatching after two years and I'm glad I was able to catch up on a few things that flew over my head the first time... still not sure what the purpose of Frill in all of this is tho, if the autors thought it would be easier to explain Thanatos, the temptations of death, if it was somehow impersonated... idk
I feel like there were different, bigger plans for Neiru's story, that just couldn't be executed... not enought time to do so maybe? She was the one of the girls we knew very little about compared to the others after all. The fact that her company was involved with the Accas, could record dreams, studied parallen universes... there's just so much more left to be desired from this part of the story.
I completely forgot there was a resolve on Mr. Sawaki's case. He's a good guy after all, Ai did in fact had a crush on him and Koito's suicide was partially a terrible accident. I quite liked how this was portrayed in the previous episode, where Ai fought the monstrous Mr. Sawaki while fully acknowledging that she's facing a version of him she created in her head and not his true self.
Least but not last, I finally got the parallel word stuff. So the reason non of the girls that got rescued by our heroins recognize them is because they are not the same girls that died in their universe, thus have different experience with them. Now don't ask me how this works, but as far as I can see it, they really decided to not break one rule - you can't bring back the dead. The girls that were brought back to life probably died somewhere else, so its stated if one version of you died in its universe, the said version cannot "reborn" there. (But as you no longer exist there, other version of you can enter that universe as Kotobuki demonstrated). So the Accas promised the girls they can get their friends back, but resurrection isn't all that possible so they just pulled some sci-fi shenanigans on them.

Guess I will always like and remember this show, I'm just sad it became such an unnecessary mess at the end.

Not a bad episode. I am actually glad there was a long recap. I came back to watch this episode after so many years of watching the first season. The recap was so helpful for me and it reminded me how much surprisingly good I found this series to be.

As for the finale, its an open end. There are so many questions yet to be solved. So much more to be explored. Neiru isn't here which is a shame cause I liked her. I dont think there ever will be another season but this definitely needs one. This has so much potential.

This is an actual scam.
Imagine you buy the bluerays for that show and you get 2 full fledge recap for 11 eps lmao I'm fairly sure you can put them to court and win that trial because there's no way that shit is legal.
There is nothing memorable or interesting whatsoever in Wonder Egg Priority apart from its gorgeous chara-designs and avant garde arthouse animation. If you think there's anything else that's worth or of any quality you were manipulated by the deceitful confusing script and the pretty visuals that anything else mattered. To keep it short, the story tried to pander to your senses and you ate that up like a little sheep, because if you just thought about what was really happening in front of your screen you'd realized how horrendous the entire script is. Once the concept is established: main girls go on buy the eggs, they go to sleep, suicide girl wakes up, we learn about her trauma, main girls fight the monster, suicide girl blows up, episode end. You quickly notice that every episode is the exact same past episode 2 and the only one which differs, episode 10, is the worst one in retrospect with the sheer amount of unexplained events and ideas it displays in such a short runtime.
Only at the end when the show completely fails its attempt at a proper conclusive ending that I realized:"Wait, of course this ending sucks, how could there be any ending at all because there wasn't any plot in the first place"
WEP tries to handle SO MANY THEMES in SUCH SMALL RUNTIME while also being an arthouse show FULLY FOCUSED on presentation, it just couldn't achieve an ending with an episodic/monster-of-the-week format. That's why when you think about it, nothing really standed out at any moment of the show. No great moment of action, no intense dramatic scenes, no climatic conclusion to a character arc, because everything was so rushed and unexplained, you just remember the show for one thing alone, it had extremely cute girls with very good chemistry. This is one of the only aspect which I think, spoke to the audience all throughout the plot duration, since the point the group is established at ep4/11, then the only thing keeping you going is their palpable friendship, what was supposed to be the main plot, finding why Koito killed herself, is completely forgotten and casted aside.
What is this setting? Is it supernatural or Sci-fi? Am I supposed to consider bringing people back to life by fighting spirit monsters in a dream is in the realm of scifi because it was actually created by a superAI from out of nowhere? I can get behind the 2 dudes creating a superAI but how in the hell did they managed to inplant their brains into fully functionnal puppets, create devices which allow interactive lucid dreaming in relation to dead people, and most importantly, interacts within said dreams with actual screen display of it and ability to communicate with the sleeping people in this dream? It would WORKS if it was purely supernatural but it isn't, the penultimate episode reveals that actually, everything that happened before is due to a duo of top IQ individuals who founded an high IQ society and all dreams are just AI techno-fuckery.
The main girls fought for nothing because all their revived friends were memory wiped. Unlike Madoka, which this show HEAVILY takes from, they didn't broke the system, worst of all the main girl herself fell for it in the end and will keep on working for the maniacal immortal puppets who created an AI that give suicide incentive to young girls.
The main cast got separated despite their friendship being the only redeeming thing about the show and one of them was revealed to be fake, thus destroying her entire character so far for the sole purpose of justifying something that wasn't even an issue, her silent and untactful personality.
What we get from this ending is quite simple: Momoe is a coward, Rika doesn't even care, Neiru was lying all along and Ai is the dumbest idiot alive to keep on risking her lives for the same dudes who lied to her in the first place, go on girl fight to bring back to life another girl when the last time you did this, the girl forgot your existence.
A shameful experience, high hopes for such miserable result.

Great episode. I was satisfied with ep 12, so I had m doubts, but this episode managed to wrap up the story nicely without abandoning its core theme.
