THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

So the Kaijuu in the sea was not the one in the previous episode, I just made a huge mess Jjsdfk
Every time Mei and Yun talk on the computer, I don't understand anything πŸ˜‚
Ok, the one in the sea is called Manda and the one Gintoki found is Anguirus, well, I'm getting used to it
All airports closed, I'm having a Dejavu...
Ohh, yes I want to see Jet Jaguar vs Anguirus ( ‾́ β—‘ ‾́ )

Same lol I don't understand much when it comes to super scientific stuff but I still enjoy it a lot.

Anguirus' ability seems interesting, if I got it right it has some sort of precognition (if not straight seeing the future) so that's why it deflected the bullet after it learned what a weapon was.

Manda remains a mystery for now still. I also wonder what tried to get through the huge metal gate.

Plus there are now Rodans all over the world. Looks like we are in for a good fight next week.

The eps 5 was quite a shock for me, especially on the topic about a substance that could break the law of energy conservation. and Mei suspected it has something to do with time manipulation while Yun speculated that if a substance like that does exist, it must be created from another world.

According to Mei's hypothesis, the substance called archetype, generates energy seemingly out of nowhere because it draws additional energy from the future and accumulates the additional energy in the same place at the same time — a singular point between spacetime itself.

According to Yun, Angurius' ability to deflect projectiles like bullets and harpoon has something to do with time manipulation, either by reading the future or even forcing a future — in which it can deflect the projectile shot towards itself — to come into existence.

This is something big for me, because Godzilla's finally taking more steps into what he supposed to be, a God's incarnation. Shin Godzilla was the starting point, Godzilla Earth as the second step, and singular point is the third. I prefer this kind of approach rather than simply a gigantic nuclear-powered lizard who fight mostly like a wrestler against an overly sized primate.

Overall, I think Singular Point is really great because it takes real, scientific approach for its origin with a possibility to step into a truly godlike being, albeit with some difficult-to-believe explanation. But it did explain that a substance like archetype should not, and cannot exist in the real world because it violate the basic law of physics, that was why Yun or Mei speculated it is something out of the world.

For those who are looking for kaijuus' fighting each other, this show most likely isn't for you. But for those who understand how significant the theory of psychic being used here, this show can offer you a new perspective of Godzilla. To put it simply, Godzilla Singular Point is no longer a simple show about gigantic monster wrestling up each other. It's much more than that. And I hope Godzilla will give a terror befitting its name because I speculated, godzilla will revive from the pack of bones underground.

Anguirus is a good boi with a cool ability. Good to know the sea creatures I thought were Ebirah are actually Manda, so I guess we're really getting a Showa reunion in this series. Gabara I hope does something cool, though, feels like we just keep cutting away from the kaiju too soon since stuff's happening all at once.

Rodan's spreading out now, which is suspicious. Wonder if they're important in bringing the rest of the monsters into the real world, and they're the first catalyst as a result?

At the current moment, I have a theory that in Godzilla Singular Point, Godzilla and Ghidorah could somewhat be related to each other. Though it is just a theory with no concrete evidence and I doubt we would even see Ghidorah in this.

More kaiju lurking within the shadows, and the one in the blue-turned-blood sea named Manda definitely is one big sea serpent.

Understanding the whole deal about the Archetype will take some time as Mei talks it out with Professor Lee. Unfortunately, the unnamed monster where the old woman Professor Tilda luckily had it enclosed, but not for long with Burn narrowingly escaping death, while the monster Anguirus (the one that Yun chanced upon) can manipulate time and space to repel weaponized attacks.

The Radon effect is spreading globally, which is to say that things are not getting better. Reagrdless, Yun is leaving no stone unturned, and managed to lure Anguirus out with the small army and big weapons they have that can muster.

Jet Jaguar vs. Anguirus, will it be the same as before?

Think about it: archetypes, and the naming convention of this show: Singular Point. Where all the Kaiju came about, it's definitely from a SINGLE source, such as is with the Archetype, but the manifestation process and leads are still a mystery. It's not your standard Kaiju story that's for sure, but one that leans more towards scientific means.

For me, this is already one of the best Godzilla things I've ever seen.

If i didn't understand the concept of opinion I would be creating a topic asking why the score of this anime is under 7, lol.

Science talk still confusing as hell, but I am really enjoying the show, pretty good episode! That boat can't catch a break, good thing they got saved, but the Manda's tail almost hitting the helicopter was scary as hell.

Well, that's something you don't see everyday, a worldwide calamity actually happening worldwide and not just in Japan lmao. Pretty interesting though, so the archetype and the kaiju's are connected somehow, and the Anguirus might be using the same principle as the archetype in seeing the future. Then there's also that shit going on with the companies, Ashihara, SHIVA and stuff, honestly kinda confusing lmao. Then there's that Kaiju that I don't know the name of trying to climb that underground facility, a lotta shit going on here. Looking forward to the next episode.

Also love the small detail of Mei removing then putting back the cap again and again on the marker, it's a really nice detail, also because I do that too.

Damn... this was an epic episode. The suspense is getting stronger and stronger with each episode. More and more Kaijus are making on to the surface which is not a great sign. We saw our first encounter in this episode.

Smart idea for yun to run up towards a unknown kaijuu without any weapons. Opps nvm forgot he had plot armor. I have the same issue with the texting. I have no idea what they are talking about.

Well, looks like the cause of the kaiju to be appeared somehow get enlightened more bit by those heavy explanations and a lot of actions. Too bad for Mei not gonna get a direct compliment from the professor. Because the explanations just extend and justify existing theories about the Archetype. The red dust possibly be the next phase of type for the Archetype material, which cause the light of past for a certain kaiju to retracted, awakening, and made them back alive at that time. The same case with Anguirus may applied, but still with a different type of Archetype, from its rounded spine around it. Interesting. They decided to exterminate it, together with the Manda that already appeared and disturb the ocean safety.

Well, the last turn of event kinda get the thrilling time. Anguirus just can't surrendered. Jet Jaguar even get the chance again. So, hell, yeah, lets see how its get done!

An improvement over the previous episode, but I'm getting impatient to see the conspiracy and science stuff to take a backseat to the kaiju action.

The dots have finally started to connect, for now it's confirmed that the Kaijus and the archetype material is connected. Could it be that the Kaijus are created from the archetype?

So we now have a Kaiju that naturally has the Archetype material in it's body, and uses the material's properties to see things seconds into the future.

Anguirus the time predicting kaiju

that Archtype really do have some time travel mystery and the Kaijus are made of this Archtype stuff it seems

and that Ashihara and his corporations are sus and must be the mastermind behind all of this

That creature in the underground facility had funny cgi. But the forest one looked creepy.

Lots of scientific explanations as usual...

I wonder if it is even possible to kill these creatures.

It should be possible to kill these creatures with lots of millitary might. It might even take a kaiju battle in the city.

The kaiju's having some extra ability really adds on the series, since godzilla also have extraordinary powers. Seems like we are seeing the evolution of how godzilla will be born or at least how its premise was before it grew into its enormous size.

Behold of my awesomeness~

The old men in this show sure are crazy. It's like they want to get themselves killed. A harpoon gun loaded with gunpowder... lmao.

Interesting, a kaiju that seemingly has the ability to see into the future, or react in a manner that appears to be as if looking into the future. Yun is also just as crazy as the old men, getting close to it like that. Defo takes some guts to do something like that.

So the sea creature has been named Manda, eh. I wonder what they'll do to deal with that one.

From Episode 5, I’ve come to understand that there are at least three plot lines at work. One with Mei, one with Yun, and another regarding Ashihara. Mei and Yun’s plot lines are active and each protagonist is dealing with Archetype’s futuristic property, for a lack of better terms. Ashihara is only mentioned and shown via photographs, but the active characters concerning him are figuring out his mystery, which is interesting. There are other plot lines I can barely remember since there’s some much to absorb in one viewing, but I am hoping they all converge by the end. So, in a way, it’s like Madlax in that its two protagonists have a plot line that converges later on – except that series doles out its story and characterization more through showing than telling.

Other than that, out of the three kaiju shown in this episode, Anguirus stole the show.

Godzilla: S.P makes me ask a lot of why questions.

  • Why would you just accept an esoteric answer without any context or proof as truth?
  • Why would you just stand around filming a monster, then be surprised when it looks at you in a hostile manner?
  • Why would you approach the monster to begin with, then be surprised when it, again, looks at you in a hostile manner?
  • Why would you go out fishing in a blood-red sea where monsters were known to arise from?
  • Why would you willingly approach the sound of gunfire?
  • Why would you send a human expedition team down a giant hole inhabited by a dangerous monster, rather than perfectly good drones and robots that seem to exist in spades?
  • Why would you create and release an open source AI exist that can arbitrarily hack cameras and machinery across an entire city?

What an anime.
