Nice backstory. I really liked the doctor.

I wonder if the two brothers will end fighting.

wow this remake continues to surprised me in a good way. This episode somewhat gave me one of earlier FMA 2003 filler episode vibes and it was very interesting. Now I wish Hyakkimaru get his voice next! I am curious to hear that new va sounds like :O
Yeah, voiceless Hyakimmaru and cutesy Dororo is feeling out of place to me

The storytelling was perfect in this episode. I really liked Jukai's backstory, his past actions were terrible but he went down the difficult road of atonement, while helping those in need without asking for anything in return. It's understandable that Kaname could not forgive him given his father's death, it's not easy to judge people when you have a personal involvement.
So he was a father figure for Hyakkimaru. The scene in which he leaves and touches Jukai's face was very touching. Also it seems like Hyakkimaru gained another sense, I guess the more ayakashi he slaughters the more senses he will get back.

Amazing episode with great execution, flashback episodes can be easily screwed to die to have different pacing and timeline from the main plotline, they clearly knew what they were doing with this one.
Yet a lot of other stuff unraveled, and so much makes sense now.
His old master didn't show noticeable aging after all of those years, I wonder when is that orphan going to come into play.

I'm a little bit conflicted about what to think of Doctor Jukai because of how brutally he strung up and nailed those rebels before he had his despairful epiphany when one of Shiba's men mercilessly killed someone who had nothing to do with rebellious activities but aside from that, he had proven himself to be a great guy who's genuinely remorseful for what he had done long ago. It's hard to say that someone feels no guilt when he cries alone over such a thing like his assistant resenting him. While his past actions can't be forgotten nor forgiven, his loving contributions to those in need will not be forgotten either and his good karma eventually outweighed the bad, as shown by the pure soul Hyakkimaru saw.

Tahomaru's jealous of his discarded brother because mama ultimately prefers Hyaki over him.

With a bit of tough love and some awesome adjustments, Jukai turned Hyakki into a demon-killing machine fit for restoring his own body. He just got his nerves back so he can't be careless like he usually was from now on.

So basically just kill every monster cause maybe you get lucky and get a part of your body back. Cause so far the ones Hyakkimaru killed that brought back some parts of his body were nothing special. You'd think these demons would be crazy strong but it looks like they're just regular monsters

Another great episode.

Looks like Hyakkimaru will gain part of his body after killing certain demons.

The backstory was nice.

Jukai can't be forgiven for all the stuff he did, he was a monster!
Hm, he got back his sense of pain.

Ah okay so he had already been killing demons and it does seem to only be specific ones that had something to do with the deal.

Seems Jukai has done some pretty fucked up stuff, even if it was part of his job. That explains why he's giving away prosthetics for free to amend for what he's done.

So Hyakimarru and Tahomaru had a 1 year difference of age.

So the mystery is the whereabout of Kaname.

So Dororo got a sense of pain now... My bet his eyes or rather his vision will be the last thing he'll get.
He who smiles in a crisis has found someone to blame.

Great and touching episode.

Hyakkimaru’s childhood were done great simultaneously with his brother’s. So there’s a possibility they will be rivals.

They also did an amazing job in explaining what’s happening in Hyakkimaru and what he needs to do.

Interesting to see Jukai's past working under lord shiba and helping Hyakkimaru. He really is a better dad than Hyakkimaru's biological one could ever dream about. Hope they will reunite again after this whole ordeal is over and kinda curious if his apprentice will make a comeback.

Excellent episode. The backstory was incredible. And poor Kanane, too. Let's not forget.

One thing: The scene in the beginning where the woman was killed, that was a wife of one of the enemy soldiers right, not the doctors wife?

The second son notices the sorrow in his mother. I think it will lead to resenting Hyakkimaru once he hears about him. And probably a fight will ensure.

Pain will only make hyakkimura more powerful, but I think if he regains his feelings it will be more difficult to control.

Behold of my awesomeness~

That was a great episode. We saw the backstory on the doctor and how he saved Hyakkimaru and in the end, Hyakkimaru started caring for him as well. That was very touching.

Cara, que passado trágico, eim. Mas gostei da ideia dele. Recuperar o que ele perdeu quando derrota algum monstro/demônio.
