Damn, this was pretty classic.

A world of music and everyone bringing in their musical talent. Hell, they even make flights in the sky. For what's worth, I think the finale was a very colorful episode and pretty much captured the general feel of the series altogether. Fun stuff overall. Season 2 also got 2 cour. It's most likely going to be 2 cour again.

Golden Record?

The UFO from end of last ep. is getting people, including her father. Bach ClassicaLoid sensed them to come and made that device to begin with? He already have the device fixed?! lol @ the main guy got into the UFO on his own to sing his song (OST will include his song in full: https://twitter.com/Classica_BNP/status/848092146204786688). UFO got him out (Even it knows how bad his song is lol)?? musik passed. UFO liking it and everyone's released. Though, the device in limit and all UFOs not satisfied.

Over-excitement with wanting more (encore) caused them to attack. Both main ClassicaLoids helped the two humans transform to get in, and saves the day. Oh, Golden Record might be the reason why the UFOs got to know them. ClassicaLoids went traveling and back.

musiks today:

And thus the world was saved.
This was a great episode and Ode of Joy was perfect for the finale. I'm glad they're making a second season.

And thus, the most random anime of fall 2016 and winter 2017 is concluded. Or actually, just the 1st season, because YES, there will be a 2nd one! I can't wait!

As a huge fan of classical music who recognised every song playing, I can say I'm gonna miss this anime a lot. Why? Because it managed to take 8 of the most important figures of classical music and turn them into modern characters, who still remained faithful to their original personalities. Besides, even when an episode was boring, it really wasn't. It was still fun. But don't get me wrong; generally, some flaws were obvious, but I love classical music too much to give this show a lower score.

I got chills this time, too. I was also tearing up a little. Great last episode. I can't wait for fall 2017!

Total Score: 7/10

A fitting conclusion for the series. As teased in the very first scene of the show, we finally get the Ode an die Freude we all have waiting for as it was unsurprisingly chosen as the final Musik (Japan loves its "Daiku"). And the main pair is offered what they needed: their moment of glory (I was expecting this but not the pseudo-classicaloïds disguise).
Humour around Bach was a little surprise for me.

Automatic 5/5 because An die Freude. (I know it wasn't doing justice to the original but still...)

A correct pastime standing out thanks to its designs. Overall funny and entertaining with a few (unfunny but still acceptable) lows. The "educative"part was too limited (songs presentations, some characters traits) but it's amusing (or raging) to hear classic pieces rearranged.

6.5/10

@Wrath Vade retro, you vile personification of the wrath.
edit @Wrath I was more questioning your way to express it.
If you got in only for the musical pieces, I don't understand what looks like a disapproval of the "story"/entertainment side. I understood at the second or third episode it wouldn't go far in the music education area (and I wasn't fond of most rearrangements). That's where you should have stopped (I stayed in only for the "large audience" humour and the use of the Ninth).
The best you can get from the union of classical music and animation is probably Fantasia, and the most you will find are shorts (be them japanese or whatever).

It went downhill fast ever since since the fish episode. Very disappointing considering I love classical music and this is the only classical music anime I've thus heard of.

I think I've vaguely heard of that, ClassicaLoid was just the only one I could think off of the top of my head. They're very few and far between and I had never seen one before this so this anime turned out to be not at all what I was hoping for.

For anime directly related to classical music:
Your Lie in April / Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
Violinist of Hameln
Piano no Mori
Nodame Cantabile (as others have written already)

For anime where it is heavily incorporated (setting, soundtrack, etc.):
Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo
Princess Tutu
Legend of Galactic Heroes

Certain series have brought in one or several well known pieces in. Neon Genesis Evangelion famously with several (Hallelujah, Ode to Joy), Erik Satie in the Suzumiya Haruhi movie, Dvorak in Shin Sekai Yori.

Really quirky anime. Glad I stuck out with it! It ended up being a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to the next season in October!

So glad we're getting a second season and this didn't end with a clichéd "Sacrifice" ending. A 7/10 show, but I'm giving it 8/10 to combat MAL shit-taste.

Though I'm not sure where they can go from here. Introduce more Classicaloids and more slice-o'-life episodes as they adjust to modern life? Would be perfectly fine with that!

Quite good anime but I hope they make full perfomance of the musics like 4 to 6 minutes instead of 1-2 minutes.

Because of this anime I learned about some composer. I didn't even know about Badarzewska before, I knew about her music but didn't know about the title or composer.

Sousuke's music is not really bad. The intro and background are good but the main note need some tuning. His music reminded me of certain music but I forgot the title..

I hope next season they can feature more composers and more musics!

It's called 'educational' anime in Japan. They're funded by taxpayers money(NHK). Usually those anime have around 25 to 50 episodes like Phi Brain, and Kemono no Souja Erin. While Log Horizon is not really 'educational', it's funded by tax too.

I'm not fan of classical music but I like some of them. You migh want to pick La Corda D'oro Primo Passo, Nodame Cantabile and Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso. The musics are unaltered like Classicaloid and some episodes have full performance so you might want to check them.

I especially like La Corda Doro because it features Pachebel Canon and it really made me want to learn to play violin. I hope more music anime features Pachebel Canon more often than the other more popular pieces.. maybe because they're done in piano? I hope there're more anime doing violin. Nodame Cantabile is focused on piano while Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso has both but more focused on piano. I'm might be biased because I like violin more than piano.

I don't know about the others because I haven't watched them.
You might want to check Hibike Euphonium too, there's only 1-2 episodes that contain full perfomance, but generally it's a good music anime with more focus on slice of life. It has a bit classic music like polovtsian dance.

This episode was wtf, but perfect to end the show. At the beginning of the anime, I didn't know the animation could be as beautiful, it was colorful and really dynamic.

Except for the first 6 episodes that were a bit slow and and when the classicaloid team was not complete, I liked Classicaloid:). The songs were goods and it was hilarious, I'm looking forward to seeing the second season.

Sugita is such a good seiyuu to play crazy characters!

And so, with the aliens that only just appeared at the end of the previous episode appeased, Kanae, Sousuke, our ClassicaLoids, and everyone else go back to their daily routines. You know, from the moment I heard Ode to Joy in the very first episode I had a feeling I'd like this. It was a fun, sweet, silly, at times stupid.....really stupid, cute, enjoyable little series. Classical composers reincarnated and living together in a musical boardinghouse of sorts, what a concept! XD A primarily kid friendly affair, reminiscent of Time Travel Girl only much wackier and more incoherent. The plot wasn't ever really important, usually taking a backseat to one-off episodes featuring random hi-jinks. Considering I liked all the characters and their interactions with each other this never really got old for me, though I admit Mozart did genuinely annoy me a couple of times. He was definitely my least favorite of the main cast. Outside maybe Bach's fangirl assistant if she counts. I think my favorite character was probably Liszt, though that may just be the pervert in me talking. Even though sadly, as Schubert's rap in episode 21 so humorously pointed out, being a kids show they weren't able to really play up her ample cleavage as much as I'd have liked. XD But they were all good, enjoyable characters at least to some extent. I'm surprised, but happy, a second season is airing right now. Guess this musta done something right in Japan! I'll definitely try and check it out down the line, maybe even after I watch Osomatsu-san 2 to keep the two shows grouped together for me. Though I probably won't start either until they both finish. Anyway, solid 7/10.
